I expect they will be taken into the car or another room for privacy … she says she doesn’t want us to see them initially?

I understand that @DFOD I'd want to see them on my own first too!

I won't be with DD, she's going to meet her friends, so I will be waiting for the telephone call or text message!

nicky2512 · 24/08/2022 12:49

I actually think I prefer our CCEA papers that are still A* A B etc. We only have one AQA (physics).

Notaclu · 24/08/2022 13:07

DD is definitely a little jumpy today - i have agreed to close my laptop at 6 today and do takeaway and movie with her; 8am is start of pick up tomorrow - think she plans to look t results on line in the car park and then walk in for photos with her friends (some are going to different 6th forms)

MirandaWest · 24/08/2022 13:21

DD is carrying on with transition work - Tudor religion today. Although her dad got in touch and asked her to go and meet him for ice cream in town later which should keep her distracted.

Think I’ll get to be in the car park at school as I was with DS and A levels. Had a few nervous moments but then when I saw him smiling it was OK 😊

Silkierabbit · 24/08/2022 13:24

No uniform here at state sixth form college. DD has worked last 7 days in a row, she wanted to, very surprised she missed asking for cash for grades, unlike her to miss an excuse to ask for cash. 😂

She is loving the punting job and says she has found a way to treble her earnings there. It's all great experience as well and had training which was paid.

Think she will be fine for 6th form grades, very worried for DS in year below.

Floor is still a legend. 6 months old now and spends most of day with me now.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

DS is a bit grumpy today, says he feels fine about tomorrow and isn't bothered - translates to I'm a bit nervous and going to be grumpy all day 🙃

g1c2d3 · 24/08/2022 13:50

Good luck to all children for tomorrow! Fingers crossed they receive the grades they need and worked so hard for.

My DS has to pick up his results in school after 10 o’clock. It will be one long and restless night tonight…

Bellini12 · 24/08/2022 13:51

Good luck to your DC’s everyone.

My DD has gone quite quiet the last couple of days. It has been lovely to forget about GCSES over the summer but reality is now biting. I just don’t want her to feel disappointed but she is adamant she has done worse than her mocks - there were no exams where she felt she’d aced it.

She should be fine to get into 6th form college tho - but wants to get a good enough average to get onto their advanced learners program (helps them get into Uni).

Naem · 24/08/2022 15:17

NCS has been keeping DD very busy (she is out helping at a food bank today), and I haven't actually seen her much. It turns out that it is 8am they can access the results online, not 6am (it as 6am for DS - he did it twice, as those years they offered a couple of GCSEs in Year 10, so I assumed it was the same), but having checked the email it is 8am. We have barely discussed it at all. I made her set up her account and log in on the system on Sunday, to check she could get in, and made her give me the password, just in case - we saw the place which said Exam Results which was blank, but is where they will appear tomorrow. Then I said, "that is it until Thursday", and neither of us have mentioned it again. I am feeling very anxious, but don't want to communicate my anxiety, so am keeping away. She appears laid back (which is often her stance) - she is also quite good and being in the moment, not planning, which is probably an advantage at the moment. Just hope it all goes OK - really need those 7s in sciences and maths to go on, Passes in everything else will be fine.

Moosey1969 · 24/08/2022 15:47

Good luck to everyone, hate wishing my life away! My DS, was very chilled (looking forward to Reading far more than worrying about exams 🙄) right up until this morning. He's made his own life very difficult by being a lazy git and far too laid back but worked very hard in the end. Also needs a 48 average from best 8. I literally have no idea if he'll get anywhere near. Looking forward to a year off this stress!!!!

NameInUseAlreadyAgain · 24/08/2022 16:32

We dropping DS off at 9am to collect. We waiting outside. However I have his school email account on my phone and they are being emailed too. Tempted to look whilst we wait but not sure I can look surprised when he runs out to show us …..!

oh god this is just awful - we need 4s in 5 subjects but I just can’t call it. He SHOULD get all 6 and above as went to grammar school but the pandemic hit him hard with English and predicted a 4, a high 4 but still a 4

im thinking one 7, then a couple 6s then mostly 4s and one 3 (RS!). Argh.

QueenMabby · 24/08/2022 16:35

I was awake at 4.14 this morning! Have been in the office today which was good distraction. Feeling permanently sick now though.
8am for us - not long now.

NameInUseAlreadyAgain · 24/08/2022 16:57

Am hiding DS phone because I don’t want him looking before he goes to school. They’ve missed so much stuff over past two years and I want him to experience collection and opening.

i may peek tho…….

legosunqueen · 24/08/2022 16:57

Chaotic last minute shopping prep for Leeds fest has been the main distraction today. Good luck to everyone tomorrow, worth remembering that, although this seems huge, it's a step in the journey & few bumps are insurmountable (sorry for mixed metaphors)...

MrsScrubbingbrush · 24/08/2022 17:01

Have taken DD1 to the gym to try & keep her occupied (and me)

lanthanum · 24/08/2022 17:20

Everything I say is wrong today, so just avoiding DD. Hopefully it will all ease tomorrow, but I'm worried that any reaction I have tomorrow will be wrong too.

marmitecake · 24/08/2022 18:03

May I join (long time lurker)? Nervous mum here too but trying to remember they're not my results. DD can collect from 8.30 and we agreed in the end to go at 9.30 as she's not an early riser. This morning she announced "erm might go at 11-12 as I'll be too tired to get there for 9" Whaaat!

Good luck to all DDs and DSs.

Purple24 · 24/08/2022 18:06

My stomach is doing somersaults tonight

pinkroseapp · 24/08/2022 18:12

OMG, I am so anxious, couldn’t sleep last night and been up since 4am this morning.😅 I remember I couldn’t sleep the night before of his 11 plus exam 6 years ago.😮‍💨

Womblesaremyfavouritefood · 24/08/2022 18:19

It's rather comforting to know I'm not the only one feeling sick. DC out doing sport at the moment with DH keeping busy. It is going to be a very long night. 9am email here.

Purple24 · 24/08/2022 18:25

DS has decided to go with his friends tomorrow to collect the results and he won't be back home until around 11am so DH and I have longer to wait than we'd planned.

NancyJoan · 24/08/2022 18:35

8am for us tomorrow. DD is fine, I’m all jumpy. Hoping for 8s and 9s, but doesn’t need any particular grades.

Rollergirl11 · 24/08/2022 19:56

I’ve created a new thread for results tomorrow so we don’t have to rush around when this one fills up!

9-10am here. Ds has been quite calm but said today 'what if I missed a page of questions out' (this happened to his friend in Biology. Told him not to worry. He needs 63 points off best 8. Grade 7 minimum for A levels he wants to study.

Lightsabre · 24/08/2022 20:15

Thanks @Rollergirl11
