Oh ..yes please to headless prom pictures.
Soursprouts I think that is really sweet she wants you to do her hair ...we will need photos though.!!

fairweathercyclist · 14/06/2019 15:17

DS said physics better than the first paper. Very happy to be finished. Exercise books in the recycling bin. Off to visit my mum in Devon for a couple of days, then he gets to be lazy for a bit and then he's got a week's lifeguard course. Then induction day at college and holiday. And then NCS. After that it won't be long until the results are out!

Iambuffy · 14/06/2019 15:34

Ds got the excellence in history and most improved mathematician certificates at the year 11 leavers assembly.

He seems very flat. Very tearful when he came home.

He's staying at pils tonight then we are all out for a meal for his b day tomorrow.

buffy thats wonderful news .
Well done him. Hope you all have a lovely weekend .

OddBoots · 14/06/2019 16:14

DD's school has a long, wide ramp to the main exit and the Y11s coming out of Physics walked down it to leave after what is for most of them the final exam, it was break time so there were teachers each side of the ramp clapping a cheering them (I think in celebration rather than pleased to see the back of them but you never know!) so DD was quite emotional when she got home.

Iambuffy · 14/06/2019 16:21

Awww.
Lovely.
The headteacher cried when it was ds turn to say goodbye 😢
Emotional day!

Further Maths was "not amazing, but not terrible" Thats a step up from "Meh" and "OK".

DS is a glass half empty kinda guy,

2 more for us.

DD is out with her mates partying.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 14/06/2019 16:54

Ds went back in to drop his books off. Saw some of his teachers, got a hug off his learning support tutor which he said was 'odd, but nice' Grin

He was quite pensive when he got home; we walked round to the shops together to buy him some beer for this evening's party and he said he'd made a list on his phone of all the highlights and things he wants to remember from school, and he admitted that he was going to miss it.

Sadly he didn't get the job he was hoping for but I'm not surprised as it was well paid and I would imagine there would have been older, more experienced applicants as well. Back to the applications!

Iambuffy · 14/06/2019 17:02

Pensive!
Yes. Thats a good word maud
Sorry about the Job x

Congrats Master Buffy💐
Maud- sorry to hear about the job but great experience having the interview... and the beers will help 🙃
Soursprout- we have no prom but her BF has arranged a surprise party so under the pretence of a girly afternoon shes had her hair cut and we went to a makeup counter in a dept store which for the price of a concealer they did her makeup, nothing OTT but far better than she or I could do. I’ve just dropped her off looking fab. Not sure where you live but it’s a great option.

hanahsaunt · 14/06/2019 17:25

Ds2 felt that physics was good - I will take that! Quite chilled about German on Monday.

Had a sobworthy thought earlier ... ds1 has his last A level paper on Wednesday morning and will thus be finished with his school forever; that same evening we go to said school with ds3 for his welcome evening, finding out his form and house etc. My babies!!!

He rather hides his light under bushel so its lovely when he gets recognised.

Aw Buffy - congratulations to your ds, that’s fab!

readyforsunshine · 14/06/2019 18:06

Congrats babybuffy! Lovely bday presentSmile

DeRigueurMortis · 14/06/2019 18:14

Buffy congratulations!!

What a smashing high note to end on with those awards!

DS came back home all "signed" ie his shirt all written on by teachers and friends.

It's got some lovely messages on it, especially from the teachers Grin. Definitely something to keep!

Crikeyblimey · 14/06/2019 18:15

Well don’t to all who have finished.

I’ll be here till Monday (further maths).

Party tonight apparently, well ‘a gathering’. Promised to be home by 11. We shall see.

Crikeyblimey · 14/06/2019 18:15

Well DONE ffs not ‘dont’!

behindlocknumbernine · 14/06/2019 18:26

Well done master buffy!!

Dd was happy after physics, she said" it went better than expected, I would almost say it went well...."

German on Monday, then she is done!

She's at a party tomorrow as most of her friends are done. She's not too emotional about leaving, she's looking forward to a long summer and starting sixth form.

KittyMcKitty · 14/06/2019 18:35

DS’s finished- big yay!! Thought Physics went well. Now out partying- it’s also finally stopped raining and the sun is out - ds informed me this is an example of pathetic fallacy Hmm

Still no prom suit!!

Bimkom · 14/06/2019 18:56

Congradulations lambuffy DS well done.

Loved the ramp!!

Don't think there was anything like it at our school, although we did get repeated emails saying physics was the last exam for most, and to return textbooks and lanyards, and that they were going to go around and tick off said returns.
DS will still need to go in for prize day, but he will see only those who are also getting prizes, and it will include years 8-10, and maybe sixth formers, who are also getting prizes, so nothing particularly for the Year 11s.
The school does tend to assume that most are coming back for sixth form (although this year there are apparently quite a lot not planning to, so DS believes, maybe even heading towards a third, which is a lot for them. But I gather it has been a rather unusual year in a lot of ways).

cptartapp · 14/06/2019 19:09

That's DS1 finished too. PHysics went well but harder than the first paper. Feeling very philosophical about it all now and whatever will be...
He looks like the weight of the world has lifted off his shoulders.
Seems like an age ago since I was testing him on his poems.
Thanks for all the moral support everyone. Emotional times.

pointythings · 14/06/2019 20:09

DD2 finishd too. She said Physics was harder than the first paper but OK, and paper 1 was much better than expected. Physics is her weakest - if she gets a 5 we'll be doing cartwheels.

Prom not until the 5th of July, but we have everything.

DD2 has one more A level exam on Monday then she's done too. I signed up to Amazon Prime as a famiy reward and we re binge watching Good Omens.
