Velvet so sorry to hear that.

The whole process has been pretty brutal imho.

I'll be surprised if any of the children will have come out of this totally unscathed Sad

Arewedone · 13/06/2019 16:29

Pointy- how devastating, lost my brother to alcoholism it’s heartbreaking so can’t imagine losing your Dad 💐
Velvet- big hugs to her it’s almost over
Dd described it as being on house arrest for 3 months 😰

clary · 13/06/2019 16:32

Weirdone he is fine to take in a protractor in his clear pencil case. Dd needed a calculator for her Geography a level and had to ask for one! It's fine!

Luciaia · 13/06/2019 16:32

Yep dd is very much in the spirit that it’s over already- lots of reluctant physics for 30 minutes and then wandering about. Oh well, at least she’s kept her spirits fairly high despite working herself to the ground (she hasn’t been doing that this week though Grin)

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 16:42

I sense physics has been "sacrificed" tbh.
Hes just had enough and its his weakest science.

5 hours physics revision and now singing in the shower😀almost there!

KittyMcKitty · 13/06/2019 16:44

Ds really happy with Geography. Went to see him a little while ago and he is fast asleep, I figure I’ll let him sleep a bit longer.

pointythings · 13/06/2019 16:46

Geography was ok, she finished it despite it being very very long. Just physics to go now, then Leavers assembly and festivities. There's a BBQ (have they seen the forecast?) and DD knows she won't be able to eat most of the food (because gluten intolerant) so I've provided things she can bring with her.

And apparently she and her friends have covered the entire school in self-adhesive googly eyes in a range of sizes...

SilentSister · 13/06/2019 17:05

soursprout lovely idea.

The dress I bought for DD turned out to not be quite right, but I am still trying.......so many things bought and sent back, sigh.

behindlocknumbernine · 13/06/2019 17:14

I don't think dd has managed to do much studying. I think she is completely exhausted...

In happier news though, ds passed his driving test this afternoon Grin

Foslady · 13/06/2019 17:44

@WeirdOne - dd says definitely take the protractor, her tutor told her it was essential!

DeRigueurMortis · 13/06/2019 18:29

Congratulations Behind 👏

DS has been revising all day and has finally decided to take a break.

He's just said he's not sure what's going to be more stressful/anxiety producing - being in the midst of exams, where at least you can "do" something (revise) to help your chances, or the long wait for results where it's now totally out of your control.

I have a feeling it's going to be a long summer.

Hopefully after exams all the kids can try and put it on the back burner and kick back and relax a bit.

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 18:40

Congrats behind

Congrats behind🥂
DS finished A levels 😃
Dd finishes Tomorrow 😊

gleegeek · 13/06/2019 19:19

Congratulations Behind 🎉👏👏👏 That's lovely news!
Sorry about your dad Pointy and your brother Arewedone - it's such a terrible illness to have to watch xx
Dd says OCR Geog was easyShock which worries me! Apparently the hardest thing was juggling a huge map on little tables without pencil cases/drinks/answer booklets going flying! She says the invigilators were laughing at them😂
Really struggling to find the energy and interest for the physics and German. I think it's going to be really tough when everyone else has finished and there's a wee group of them still got one to go. Wish German was tomorrow afternoon!

TabbyStar · 13/06/2019 19:23

Yeah it does seem mean they finish it on an option rather than something everyone does, though I'm glad we're done tomorrow!

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 19:54

Ds is tucking into birthday flapjack :)

He finishes school tomorrow at 12.30pm.

callmeadoctor · 13/06/2019 20:13

WeirdOne, protractor is definitely needed tomorrow. As a general rule exam paper will say what you CANT use on the front. If it doesn't say that you CANT use something then you are fine.( For instance on a maths non calculator, it will say calculators may not be used)

Arewedone · 13/06/2019 21:17

Dd officially done revising🤪 last practice paper finished. No prom but her BF in the year above has arranged a surprise party at his house so at least a celebration:) not giving results a second thought - she has worked so hard so I’m happy with whatever she had achieved. Lots of luck everyone taking last exams tomorrow.its been a slog 👍🏻

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 21:18

Ds also finished!!! :)

Ds2 and I just surprised him with a rendition of the game of thrones theme tune on the piano - we've been practising :)

Arewedone · 13/06/2019 21:23

Buffy - love that ❤️ Hope DS had a lovely day

cantkeepawayforever · 13/06/2019 21:28

DD has revised hard for all 3 exams tomorrow. Hope they're OK so she can relax a bit before the final one on Monday.

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 21:34

It wasn't brilliant but he was pleased :)

Prom shoes update, I’ve taken them to two cobblers today, they tried saddle soap that didn’t work, second one tried something else it sort of shined them but started taking the colour off, they are burgundy leather he said in his opinion they’re faulty as the colour shouldn’t come off and looks like the leather wasn’t dried correctly. I bought them online from John Lewis in April ready for prom next week. I’ve ordered 3 pairs of replacements today, hopefully one of them will be ok.

Arewedone · 13/06/2019 21:56

Rugbylife- what a nightmare! It sounds like the leather wasn’t finished correctly after dying, not sure if you are outside the return policy at JL but worth a try !
