Much the same here - ds said Chemistry was fine and that German was ridiculous. Day off today, physics tomorrow and then more German on Monday. Then we can talk prom ...

AGirlHasNoCake · 13/06/2019 11:13

DS said Geography AQA was brilliant and he smashed it. :) 4 more to go!

TabbyStar · 13/06/2019 11:17

DD also said similar about AQA geog

steppemum · 13/06/2019 11:59

dh picked ds up and dropped him off at gym.
He apparently said geog was 'fine'

don;t you love it when they communicate?

seeing the comments up thread about prom, I've just realised that means SHOES (sobs into arms on the table)
ds is size 13, which means unavailable in shops and very, very fussy about shoes, and if they don't support his arch he won't wear them.

He may be doing beautiful suit plus trainers!

DS said OCR B was OK as well. He totally predicted the question last night (sustainability in Leeds). Last night he said to me he thought it would be sustainability of a city, as they had done all the other options between the sample papers and last year. And we even mentioned Leeds, because a friend of ours in Year 12 wants to do geography at University, and apparently wants to go to Leeds as that is the best course for the type of geography that interests her.

MaddieElla · 13/06/2019 12:28

DD beaming at AQA geography. Thank god she's confident in something. Grin

Physics tomorrow then DONE. Wow, what a 5 weeks we've had.

pointythings · 13/06/2019 12:30

DD2 doesn't drink. She tried bits and pieces and says she doesn't like the way it makes her feel. And with our recent history of having and losing her alcoholic dad that isn't surprising.
She isn't a party animal anyway.

Bimkom · 13/06/2019 12:37

Yes, one more, one more, one more, one more!!! Can't wait.

fairweathercyclist · 13/06/2019 12:48

DS back from Eduqas geography which he said was fine. Just physics to go!

I was looking again at his final predicted grades this morning. I think science was more than a bit overoptimistic, but from what he's said, the rest should be on target.

Arewedone · 13/06/2019 12:51

It’s so lovely to see everyone’s DC smashing the geography🏆

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 13:32

From my Twitter stalking it seems many likes edexcel geography today

Happy Birthday to Master Buffy 🥳

readyforsunshine · 13/06/2019 14:31

Pointy so sorry, how awful for you all.
Glad geography seems to have gone well for dcs today

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 14:53

Cant wait to see ds and get his views on geography.

Happy Birthday to your DS Buffy.
Pointy things, that's dreadful. Bless you, you must be very strong to deal with that.

WeirdOne · 13/06/2019 15:09

Question about AQA physics higher:
June 2018 paper 2, Q6.4 requires a protractor to measure the angle of the vector on the graph.
Protractor is not listed as required equipment on front of paper.

DS is concerned that his invigilator (he is sitting exams alone) will take anything not listed away from him.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
eg have schools sent home lists of equipment for exams?

VelvetVole · 13/06/2019 15:11

Hi everyone, my DD says AQA Geography was a great paper but says she still messed it up - just couldn't finish it all in the time. She's feeling very downhearted about finally having a paper she felt confident about, but still couldn't show what she knew.

She's so fed up with it all now, the whole process has made her feel like a complete failure and it's heartbreaking to see. Roll on tomorrow afternoon when it's all over.

Fibbke · 13/06/2019 15:18

I think dd has taken the same pencil case with everything in it to every exam! I doubt very much that happens??!

steppemum · 13/06/2019 15:32

weird, I obviously haven't seen the paper, but I wonder if the angle was able to be calculated, or did it specify a protractor?

WeirdOne · 13/06/2019 15:53

steppe mum - the question asked them to draw the two forces on a big piece of graph paper and work out the resulting vector. It would be possible to calculate the angle but wouldn't really make sense in the context of the question!

Thanks sour - the invigilator is a bit of a stickler (rightly!)

I'll drop him off and check when we arrive.

Iambuffy · 13/06/2019 15:55

DS said geography "ok"
Seems chipper

Well as I was going on about there being just one more day, DS, who I might have mentioned is very into musical theatre, texted me this list of songs on the subject. So for some light relief

Apologies for those who still have German and further maths after physics. Maybe you can use them Mon/Tuesday
