Yay sost (especially Geography!)
Yay Alexander (especially Eng Lang!)
Yay Chicken - only 476 9x9s in the country, I just heard on radio!

KittiesInsane · 23/08/2018 10:42

Oh, southnownorth, that’s fab!

eaglefly · 23/08/2018 10:44

Kingscote, oneteen and sost so pleased for you all. Fabulous fabulous

Congrats everybody - sorry not naming all individually Thanks

ReservoirDogs · 23/08/2018 10:44

80% A*/9/8
94% A* to A/9-7
100% A*-c/9-4 so no fails at all

Great results all round at DS's school. I think they are waiting for the table!

Oneteen · 23/08/2018 10:45

Well done everyone - sorry not time to catchup with all results - Sost - amazing results (well done to your DGD) and Chicken what a Star

ReservoirDogs · 23/08/2018 10:47

Our school did a mixture of A and ( exams but had 78 kids get all As or 9s. Glad we are staying on for 6th Form!!

sandybayley · 23/08/2018 10:48

9 - Maths
9 - History
9 - Latin
A star - Chemistry
A star- Biology
A star - Physics
A star - English Lang
A star - English Lit
8 - Geography
A - Ad Maths FSMQ

I cried. He worked so hard. Our DC are all amazing.

But my biggest grin of the day is for @Sostenueto DGD's 9 in Geography.

Now need to book fancy dinner celebration.

TheThirdOfHerName · 23/08/2018 10:48

@sandybayley really pleased for him

hmcAsWas · 23/08/2018 10:49

Well done to everyone - too many to name check. Some great results. Especially pleased to see AlwaysHiding's dd's results given the challenges she has faced this year

Dd only did 9 GCSEs (did one last year making 10) and passed all of them including Chemistry which she was convinced she had failed - got a 5 in that (which perhaps made it one of the most pleasing results). Overall she got 2 x A/8, 3 x A/7, 3 x 6 and 1 x 5 and she is delighted. Very pleased since with dyslexia and working memory issues she has difficulty remembering vast swathes of information for exams, so as far as I am concerned she's excelled. We had a bit of a laugh at the rather surprising A in English literature, especially when she texted her Aunt to tell her and realised that she had spelt 'literature' incorrectly

cubscout · 23/08/2018 10:50

Some fantastic results everyone and a special congrats to Sostenuto dd for her Geography 9!

TheThirdOfHerName · 23/08/2018 10:51

southnownorth well done on the Maths - the hard work paid off.

Theworldisfullofgs · 23/08/2018 10:52

eve a brilliant result!

SnowyAlps · 23/08/2018 10:53

Congratulations on everyone’s results! It doesn’t matter if they’ve got all 9’s and A*s, or if they 2s, 3s or 4s. They’ve all worked hard for what they have got and all results are equally as important. I think they all deserve a treat after this!!!

adrinkofwater · 23/08/2018 10:53

Glad most people seem happy with their results.

DS was amazing. 11 9's and an A*^ in further maths!

LooseAtTheSeams · 23/08/2018 10:54

hmc snap! On the chemistry - I think DS is very relieved as well. He really tried but just couldn’t remember it. We think his 7 in physics is due to being able to do maths rather than have to try and remember everything.
Southnow huge congratulations on that maths result, I can well imagine how much that means! Star

Cherryburn · 23/08/2018 10:56

Sandy and hmc fantastic results.

hmc your post made me laugh-my dyslexic DS spelled Geography wrong in his text to me!

eaglefly · 23/08/2018 10:58

Korma and sandy - fab results

Trufflethewuffle · 23/08/2018 10:58

DD is safely in to 6th form. We are very pleased with her results, mixture from A to C (or equivalent).

Like previous posters, dyslexia plays its part but she worked so hard and deserves to be thrilled.

Well done to everyone else's DC.

TheThirdOfHerName · 23/08/2018 11:00

adrinkofwater that's excellent! Congratulations to him.

goodbyestranger · 23/08/2018 11:01

Some brilliant results here - well done to all. Glad to hear about Sost's DGD's 9!

DD got nine grade 9s in History, Maths, Biol, Chem, Physics, RS, English Lang and Lit and French. And - sod's law, since it was the one I posted ages ago that she'd be disappointed in if she missed the 9 - she got an 8 in Art. Perfectly happy though because something v weird happened in the moderation and the school is appealing the lot. So we'll see, but incredibly minor in the scheme of things :)

politicalcorrectnessisgreat · 23/08/2018 11:02

Did nobody's kids just do okay??Grin

goodbyestranger · 23/08/2018 11:02

Wow just seen yours adrinkofwater - hugely impressive!

hmcAsWas · 23/08/2018 11:03

Amen to that SnowyAlps.

Definitely the same issue for dd Loose - what a relief it will be to not to do Chemistry again

Cherry - got to love them Grin. Didn't they do well!

Theworldisfullofgs · 23/08/2018 11:03

Dd got a 9 for English Lang and then a 'D' next to it. Does anyone know what this means?

sandybayley · 23/08/2018 11:04

@goodbyestranger -brilliant. Well done that DD!
