Dgd likes chemistry, is actually better at it than biology, and seems upbeat about tomorrow but that could be show for my sake. ( sigh). Anyway nite nite all and all the best to all our little Stars.

LooseAtTheSeams · 16/05/2018 22:50

As for schools, it's been really interesting tutoring this year. The dcs have come from the full range, including faith schools, and they have all been utterly charming!
Sostenueto your dgd owes you a fine present when all these exams are over!
DS has gone to bed but looked a lot more cheerful about chemistry so either something has sunk in or he's decided to stop worrying!

Teenmum60 · 16/05/2018 22:54

Loose - DD has really enjoyed spending time with her French tutor and vice versa - the FTutor said she was sad yesterday that it had all come to an end and getting up on a Sunday morning for work had been enjoyable...I was very anti tutoring but it has worked so well for DD...think I should have pulled her out of Indie (saved the fees) and spent the money on a weekly tutor in each subject - less drama with friendships too!

Teenmum60 · 16/05/2018 22:55

Good luck to everyone's DC's tomorrow ...feeling nervous!

TeresasGreen · 16/05/2018 22:59

DD is incredibly relaxed and happy. She is DD2, and I am shocked now at how relatively stressed DD1 must have been!

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

callitwhatyouwill · 16/05/2018 23:00

slinkyme , BlueBelle123 Thanks Flowers

Teenmum60 - your posts ahve really resonated with me - stay strong

TheSecondOfHerName Thanks Flowers We're focusing on positives and how to turn the feelings round. I hope the Dormeasan works for him and it's certainly worth a try Smile. I was really sceptical about it when I read the reviews, expecting it to have an accumulative effect over a few weeks but no, it was like knock-out drops on the very first night!

mmzz · 16/05/2018 23:07

Teenmum I'm baffled as to why your ex would do that? Doesn't he want his DD to do well?

Do took dd out for tea tonight with a colleague of his. They went to Nando’s & an ice cream dessert place but she did tassomai whilst waiting for the food.

I wasn’t impressed that she was on 100% for biology 1 until Tuesday morning when it went to red (whilst she was in her French exam) so after being 100% for several days she officially didn’t complete the course. She’s on 100% at the moment on chemistry 1.

Going back to earlier posts. Subjects that are important to her are RS & English. She’d like 8/9 in those. Also music she’d like 7/8. She’s very talented in composition (her compositions were exceptional) but she has had big problems with the set works in that they haven’t covered all the material.

She’s hoping for 7/8 in maths (I think 7 is more likely) & 7 in the sciences. French is her worst. She’s aiming for 6/7.

She actually only needs grades 4/5 with Grades 6 in English for her choice of A level/diploma subjects.

AlexanderHamilton · 16/05/2018 23:37

Teen - that’s pretty much what I’ve done with ds. Pulled out of Indy pay for English tutor. He’s so much happier.

Teenmum60 · 17/05/2018 00:08

mmzz - He's still competitive 13 years down the line - so if I want one thing he wants the other (so if I say revise - he tells dd not to revise)..he does have some really wonderful qualities too - don't get me wrong and he really loves DD...sometimes I can do reverse physiology but mind games 13 years down the line is a little too much. DF is indifferent about education at this stage which I can understand in some respects but I don't think he realises just how capable DD is either. I'm of the belief he would struggle when DD goes off to Uni too -empty nest syndrome already. All this cr*p is so unfair on DD but he cant see his way to put Dd before our differences ...Sad when you can't wait for your DD to grow up so you have less contact with the Ex.

user1467232073 · 17/05/2018 04:23

Good luck to everyone for chemistry, my DD is dreading this one

Sostenueto · 17/05/2018 05:16

Ugh! Phonecall from dgd just now worrying about exam. What can you say bar not to worry do your best, no you can't know everything, your awesome, don't let your nerves take over, yes, AQA ridiculous, just read questions, use your brain which is awesome, use a bit of common sense, yes, you will know the answer if you do all that, take your time, I love you no matter what.....

mmzz · 17/05/2018 06:24

AlexanderHamilton is that how Tassomai can give that money back guarantee- unless you are doing Tassomai until 30 seconds before you lift your pen, it's going to drop back to 99.99% and invalidate the guarantee?

TBH, getting your money back would be no consolation if your DC were not to do well in their science GCSEs.

Sostenueto she's up so early!

I'm convinced your DGD will do well. Maybe she'll remember this in subsequent years and use it to rationalise with herself that as long as she's done the work, then the results will very probably be what she's hoping for.

OP posts:
Cherryburn · 17/05/2018 06:39

That's interesting re Tassomai...

Good luck today all!

beenrumbled · 17/05/2018 06:49

All up and running in the Been household.

DS has an early morning Chemistry "wake up" session - he has to be in school for 8, so is walking not getting the school bus. He will leave at 7.10 but has said on the way in he is going to listen to a french vocab app.

He seems confident with Chemistry, that and Physics are his two strongest sciences.

Sostenueto I would say try not to worry, but I know that's impossible! (I've started biting my nails again!!)

Good luck everyone.

BlueBelle123 · 17/05/2018 06:54

DS and I did have a laugh at something that happened yesterday, to set the scene he's doing GCSE PE and it has been shambolic at the best of times.....

Anyway DS is stood outside exam hall yesterday morning as had PE exam at 9.00, his PE teacher jogs by (why they can never walk I don't know!) and says "Alright, what are you lads up to"
"we've got an exam sir"
"Oh, what is it today?"
"PE sir" Hmm - he really had no clue it was his exam that was about to start!!!!!

Cherryburn · 17/05/2018 06:57

BlueBelle that is hilarious and a bit scary

Theimpossiblegirl · 17/05/2018 07:02

Good luck to all. We have had a vomit free night. Dd said thanks for caring. Xxx
