They were published in Jan18 but provisional...

Oratory1 · 20/05/2018 19:26

DS will be doing well then if he can turn his SATS 4 for maths into and 8 and his English SATS level 3 into a 5 !!

Having said that dyslexia and other learning difficulties do distort the picture as normally later developers (having a dyslexic teen has changed my outlook on 11 plus somewhat !!)

KingscoteStaff · 20/05/2018 20:00

Oratory and if your DS turns a SATS level 4 into a GCSE 8, that will do wonders for your school’s Progress 8 score!

Oratory1 · 20/05/2018 20:24

😂

sandybayley · 20/05/2018 20:24

What a gorgeous day! Lovely walk by the river first thing with dog and a bbq this evening. Much needed after having to work yesterday.

DS1 seems pretty chilled. Latin tomorrow and History - he seems to have been focussed on Latin (Virgil) all day. He seems to know his stuff.

This is the 'tough' week with 8 exams - only 6 left after half term.

Hope everyone else is well rested and prepared for the coming week.

androbbob · 20/05/2018 20:31

Evening! Going to catch up now but yes @stickerrocks DD did get Shawn Mendes tickets. I asked when it was - April 19 😆

Minimal revision this weekend - got phsycology and physics and engineering lit, maths and history this week. All tomorrow lessons are suitable as directed revision for these subjects e which is good.

Re SATs results Did was a high achiever in English - level 6 and is on for a high GCSE score and conversely was average level 4 at maths and now looking at a target of 7 but achieving 4 to 5 in mocks. We shall see.

On another note I am taking DS (11) to London in summer hols and bed a hotel room for 1 night - can anyone suggest areas to stay in or those to avoid. Not looking at budget hotels but upto £200 - it's for 31st July whichis a Tuesday. Loads on booking.com but getting hotel blind. Help!!

Teenmum60 · 20/05/2018 20:50

androbbob - Premier Inn - County Hall is a good place to stay ...rooms about £125 for a night...We are seeing a show on 15/6 and booked a room for me and a room for DD and two of her friends.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow ...

DD was level 5 in both SATS (Maths/Eng)and got 7 in both the mocks - will be happy with 7's come August. Just had look at the Yr6 report and her best subject was Music which has not taken any further!

Stickerrocks · 20/05/2018 21:02

The PI just across the road from County Hall 8s also very good - technically called Waterloo.

I got the SM tickets last Wednesday, but refused to pay £575 for the signed guitar package. Less than 11 months now!

brainmelt · 20/05/2018 21:26

Good luck everyone tomorrow.
DS has two exams back to back. He doesn't leave the room or the table in between. (This is because there was a clash) So it's 3 hours in total.

brainmelt · 20/05/2018 21:30

Hmmm. DS was a SATS 6 in Maths and a STAS 5 in English, but has now been scoring a 9 in English and an 8 in Maths. So it has gone the other way around. Go figure.

calzone · 20/05/2018 21:43

Our mantra is currently......’After GCSEs......’

We are going to the cinema, out for dinner, learning to cook, teaching him some domesticated stuff 🤣......

GCSEs have taken over our life 😨😨

Nothing tomorrow. English on Tuesday.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 20/05/2018 21:48

I think the level 6 in English at KS2 was very difficult and few got it, but maths was a little easier. DS3 got level 6 for maths and scraped a level 5 for English back then. He's also good at Midyas, (no essays) hence all his target grades being ridiculously high.

6 exams next week, two Chinese tomorrow. Weather forecast looks stonking.

Theimpossiblegirl · 20/05/2018 22:03

Good luck for next week. It's a tough one here, with a real mix of subjects. We are 1/4 of the way through and have half term to cram relax a bit.

brainmelt · 20/05/2018 22:06

Yes you're right! We have been postponing so much stuff. However the half-term offers the possibility of a lunch with his mates and the Avengers movie with us, so that's two things which will not wait.

brainmelt · 20/05/2018 22:07

Sorry that was for calzone

TheSecondOfHerName · 20/05/2018 22:07

DS2 has exams every day this week, but thankfully only one or two each day; easier than last week.

calzone · 20/05/2018 22:17

Brainmelt......ds is going to see Star Wars on Friday and has even said he will come out to Windsor with us on BH Monday.

Be nice if he did. I miss my ds. 😨😨😨

mmzz · 21/05/2018 05:57

What exams are on today? DS has a free day ... apart from having to go to school.

callitwhatyouwill · 21/05/2018 07:26

OCR Latin, Verse Literature B today. English Lit x 2, Latin Culture, Maths, Physics and Geography the rest of the week.

BlueBelle123 · 21/05/2018 07:33

Good luck all those with exams today - doesn't start until tomorrw for DS, although he has a day at school.

I hope all DC are rested after the weekend - HT can't come quick enough but I can see motivation in that week is going to plummet!!

sonnyboo · 21/05/2018 07:52

German today, but only one exam per day this week!

Sostenueto · 21/05/2018 07:53
