Kingston Grammar 10+ exam 2018

Hi Does anyone know how many sat the 10+ exam this year for Kingston Grammar and when you can expect to be called back for an interview? Thank you

We have Thursday next week but no time and no suggestion on what the interview will be focusing on.

This is a very quirky child who has never had an interview before so I hope they tolerate her quirkiness. We wont prepare she will be fully herself(which I am sure she will talk for hours if allowed about things like Quantum physic of time travel)

Got timing for 11-plus scholarship interviews yesterday, about 24 hours beforehand, though we knew what day it would be. On that basis, you should probably get the times for Saturday tomorrow.

Academic scholarship. They tell you in advance - interview(s) subject specific and some kind of group activity.

How did everyone's DCs find the 11+ interviews? Mine had a general interview and was positive when they came out. Still, with 400 being interviewed, definitely not time to count your 🐓!

DC also had a general interview and said it was fine! I was expecting an English interview so was pleasantly surprised! l haven't heard of anyone this year having a Maths or English one. Certainly at DCs school primary they all all got General so wondered if they'd changed the process a bit?

helloSW I was wondering the same... and I wonder whether it would have been better to have two interviewers rather than one? surely one can be biased in his/ her assessment while it is always easier to reach a more objective view point while discussing it with another person... hmm...

I wonder how it is weighted between exam results and interview performance. SO stressful waiting to hear. Everybody looked happy coming out, which shows that the teachers did a good job of putting them at ease, but they can't all have got through. I felt that the interview was astonishingly short and can't work out if that is a good thing or a bad sign. I guess we will find out very soon.

Just wondering if anyone had heard whether they’d got a 10+ place at Kingston Grammar yet? Is it tomorrow that we’re meant to find out? Fingers crossed for everyone!

We are abroad for nearly two weeks so hope once we are back the wait is over. I had a small panic couple of days ago about the school report that KGS asked our school as I wasnt aware that it will be needed and we were packing for our holiday however all is understood now. We wont be seeing the report though as it will be sent by our school directly(expected early next week). Mine has already completely forgotten about the test and the interview which helps.

They said offers go out on 8th, so presumably we will get them (or the other letter 😳) on Friday. I wish mine had forgotten. He has already said ‘I passed the exam, so if I don’t get in it must mean that they don’t like me!’😢 Poor bunny. We have had old him that even if he doesn’t get in then it isn’t the right place and there will be somewhere else better suited to him. Such a stressful process. Good luck everyone. X
