Hello all - I've been on cold turkey from MN since a couple of days after DD's last exam but I couldn't stay off this thread at least today, and I'm good for nowt else (another who didn't sleep well, I scanned the yesterday's posts and loved the 'they don't tell you about this at antenatal class'!)

Congrats to dingit's DD, thats excellent news.

DH is driving DD to her school, it opens at 8.

Hmm track confirms his firm is rejected which is not surprising and one of those that handed out unconditionals. He's pondering rejecting his insurance and go into clearing and hoping others are lowering their grades. But is this a big risk?

DS just called but line so bad he sounds down and all I got off him was same as last year..which was two Cs and two fails ...now I can't get through to him and feel sick even more.

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 07:42

He is in!!!! Going to Newcastle Grin

tobee · 17/08/2017 07:45

Flowers aunt for your frustration.

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 07:46

tobee, good luck - I wish I knew the answer.

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 07:46

Track says DS got his insurance although no email from the uni yet. I'm hugely relieved, especially given the appalling couple of years he's had, but he's looking a bit glum at the moment.

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 07:47

And breath ...is it to early for Wine. He's off to Preston .

LittleHo · 17/08/2017 07:48

dd is into her Firm - Warwick for Physics. Grin

MumBod · 17/08/2017 07:48

He's in!

Off to Exeter!

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 07:49

Coconutty, Thank you - I'll pass that on.

Funnily enough, his Insurance have indeed offered him a place on another course - but it's Zoology and he's not really interested. So a bit of a non-consolation prize.

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 07:50

Oh dear Aunt Petunia. Really feeling for you.

tobee · 17/08/2017 07:50

Off to school for advice I hope.

Well done everyone!

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 07:51

Oops - cross post Aunt Petunia!!

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 07:54

Well Done Littleho DD!

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 07:56

Twirly and AuntP, hope your DC are ok. Are they going to try and speak to their firm choices?

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 07:57

Thanks Twirly not sure of anything else now as he didn't want to talk on the phone. He was off to check his emails and speak to staff.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/08/2017 08:04

Call from DD at 8:01 .... she made her Cambridge Engineering offer!Shock

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 08:05

Wow errol. Well done to your DD fabulous news.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 17/08/2017 08:06

dS is in at insurance just need to find out grades now 😅😅😅

MirabelleTree · 17/08/2017 08:08

Sorry to hear that AuntPetunia . Hold your nerve best you can at the moment, still early days and things can change quickly at this stage. There will still be options available to him and I know a fair few who have done a 3 year 6th form and it all came good in the end Flowers

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 08:11

AuntPetunia, you can hold my hand if you like. Grim times here, too.

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 08:14

Fantastic news Erroll's DD.

We will collect DS's grades when school opens and then call his Firm. Not likely they'll change their mind, as the whole uni is saying they are basically not in Clearing. I'm trying to big up his Insurance choice (which to be fair I really really liked when we visited) so hopefully he'll perk up shortly.

Fingers crossed for everyone else who is still waiting.
