Hi all. Keep in touch with uni offers, new jobs, gap years, exams, etc. We can get through his Grin

Congratulations to your ds, Mumbod. My ds did his A levels last year, his offer was 3 As, he got 2 As and a B and still got his first choice. However, his girlfriend as I had an offer of 3 As, she got A* (in the subject she was studying at uni), an A and a B and was rejec6red. Apparently there are loads of courses in Clearing this year and unis are accepting lower grades so I think there a good chance your son will be fine. Good luck!

@Lineysrun it's not right is it, schools should have a set time.
Oh well, we can wait....and wait!

OhTheRoses · 17/08/2017 07:00

Congrats to all. No firm emails here which is worrying me now. Not that I dare mention to dd. The final countdown. At least the drive in will take my mind off it.

tobee · 17/08/2017 07:01

Ds got his grades for his insurance. He feels a bit weird coz he did less well than he thought in his best subject but better in the other two. Which is because he worked so hard for those. He's not dancing with Joy which is sad coz he did really well in those two.

bebumba · 17/08/2017 07:02

Great news dingit!

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 07:03

DS been up and about since 6:15 just left the house to go to school. Wouldn't eat or speak to me.,. So do here pacing now until he texts or calls. Apparently school opens at 7:30. Feel sick. Don't think he's had any emails. He probably hasn't checked ...

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 07:06

sorry he's disappointed Tobee.
Still waiting here.

dingit · 17/08/2017 07:07

Still checking in. I feel I know you all well, and want to know how your dc do too.

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 07:09

It's not good news here I'm afraid. Rejection from insurance, so presume firm will follow suit. He's gone to try and get train to college.

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 07:11

@LineysRun do you have his grades yet?
I wonder what would show up from the insurance if the firm have accepted?

I hope he's OK getting the train with no SNAFUs.

Dawnedlightly · 17/08/2017 07:13

LineysFlowers
It's great news that he's off and into college though. This time last year DD was in tears- she'd failed to
get her results by a long way. By 10am she had firm offer for a Russel Group University doing the same subject and is returning for year 2 next month.

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 07:14

Oh no Liney, fingers crossed. I've just phoned DS to see if he's had any emails but nothing so far ..he's actually admitted to being really nervous even though he's trying to sound confident...I offered to drive up to school and he wouldn't let me. So am here knecking coffee...

LittleHo · 17/08/2017 07:18

Sorry to hear that Liney. Best of luck & clearing has good choices this year.

user9512736123 · 17/08/2017 07:19

@Dawnedlightly that's great to read.
@LIneysrun keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Abra1d · 17/08/2017 07:21

Lineys this was my son two years ago. He was gutted but by 10.30am had got through to his would-have-been third choice university and they took him. He has been there two years and very happy. Take heart!

AmITwirly · 17/08/2017 07:21

Aaaarrgghh. This is awful isn't it? Should I wake DS up?

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 17/08/2017 07:21

No Email's here yet - school opens at 8am...

I'm driving DS to school as he's too nervous to drive himself... and refreshing track too ... will be in the car at 7:40 so hope it comes up early...

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 07:28

DS in shower (better be a quick one!)

Congrats dingit. Smile

Liney, sorry for your boy Sad hopefully school can help him get sorted.
Sorry your DS is disappointed Robert Sad

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 07:28

Grrr Robert should be Tobee !

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 07:29

Thanks all. He's on a train amidst delays everywhere, fingers crossed.

We just have to push on with Clearing, don't we? We have a good shortlist standing by for when he gets home.

dingit · 17/08/2017 07:30

Track is up. Dd double checking...

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/08/2017 07:31

Now I wish he'd let me go with him...can't access anything from here...feel even sicker

MirabelleTree · 17/08/2017 07:31

Just a thought Liney but would it financially be feasible to taxi him home so you don't have to worry about delays?

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 07:37

Mirabelle, Yes, good thinking, I've told him to get an uber if he needs to. He has the app.

Oh God is Track really up?

LineysRun · 17/08/2017 07:38

And thank you so much everyone for all your upbeat stories. I'm alone in the house and I needed this thread Flowers
