Hopefully everyone is finishing off AS exams.

Btm on the skimpy outfits - one of the 3 year olds I look after asked DD yesterday "why are your clothes so small" Grin

HSM Grin

But if you can't wear a skimpy outfit when you're a teen, when can you?!

ErrolTheDragon · 20/07/2016 19:51

Mine won't wear skimpy - she'll reject things I reckon to be totally decent as being too low cut, which rules out a lot of tops.

HSMMaCM · 20/07/2016 20:27

DD got her belly button pierced to celebrate the end of exams Angry so now it's on display at every opportunity.

dd3 is at work experience at the moment so I have an extra half hour drive each morning and evening to pick her up (no public transport). She had to get work clothes for a petite figure but it was way easier to drop her off with some money and retreat to a coffee shop. Smile

Auntpetunia2015 · 20/07/2016 23:33

Been AWOL again as life just gets in the way .. trying to catch up with work and make sure kids are ok after loosing their nana has taken all my effort. Ds has been to see Anglia Ruskin uni last week but didn't like i . I need to get to him to look at some more now we've broken up and I've got time to focus, off to catch up on all your goings on

JugglingFromHereToThere · 21/07/2016 07:19

We went to Anglia Ruskin, to their Cambridge campus, for DS's audition with Britten Sinfonia Academy. Afterwards we had a coffee in their modern courtyard and I was thinking how lovely it would be to spend 3 years in Cambridge as a student, and AR could be a good way to do that. I think they're quite strong on performing arts too. DS is thinking of music or possibly music and drama - but he's only 14 and just chosen GCSE options, so it's not exactly settled yet
I think you look further ahead though with DC2's and have a better idea of what's going on!

bigTillyMint · 21/07/2016 07:43

AuntP, good to see you! Remind me what he wants to study and the kind of uni - campus/city, etc. So glad to be broken up tooSmile

DD's current clothing issue is getting a new bikini - not so easy when you are petite but well endowed - interview clothes are not on the radar at all!

ErrolTheDragon · 21/07/2016 11:40

LittleHoHum (and anyone else!) - any idea where yours found good to get that sort of clothing?

Tilly - mine ended up getting a bikini from debenhams - not exactly trendy but (because the focus is watersports not swimming) that didn't matter because she always had boardies and rash vest over.

Shit...just remembered I was supposed to go to sports direct to find her another plain swimsuit for under her wetsuit for next week... she delegates as much of her clothes shopping to me as she can! Oh well, hopefully we can at least get that tomorrow.

dingit · 21/07/2016 12:43

Bigtilly, Dd got a bikini in Next, they do cup sizes, but had to order online, as their in store stock is hit and miss.

ono40 · 21/07/2016 14:04

Who mentioned shopping? Aargh...bane of my life. I do 'text' shopping whereby I trek round shops, take pictures of clothes, send them to DS and get responses such as 'are you joking' and 'that is meh'. Sigh...

bigTillyMint · 21/07/2016 14:45

Thanks! Funnily enough a friend of mine suggested Next. She does actually love shopping, but bikinis have aways been a bit of a trauma due to her needing a 30F, but there not being many of them and her thinking underwired are frumpy!

Ono, perhaps you have a future career as a Personal Shopper. PaidWink

She is sunbathing in her old bikini and reading her Eng Lit summer reading ATM Shock

teta · 21/07/2016 16:42

Errol mine won't do anything skimpy either and also sent me to Sports Direct last week for a swimming costume ( which I promptly forgot).
Hence she did her Coasteering in a bikini plus rash vest. Now she's somewhere in Snowdonia wild camping tonight ( hopefully the rain isn't too heavy).
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who shops for their dd's.I end up returning most of it though.
H&M is good for jackets and trousers and seems to be age-appropriate.I bought dd expensive trouser suits in the sales and they haven't been worn but her H&M jackets have been worn continually ( business dress in sixth form).

ErrolTheDragon · 21/07/2016 17:11

I always forget about H&M.

LittleHoHum · 21/07/2016 17:37

She got her petite clothes from New Look. Smile

bigTillyMint · 21/07/2016 18:22

Yes, New Look is always a good one - cheap tooWink

bigTillyMint · 21/07/2016 18:42

Well, we've just ordered from New Look. Not convinced one of the tops will fit, but...

HSMMaCM · 22/07/2016 15:44

DD got a new look voucher for her birthday, so we could be off there too. We only had one complaint from the neighbours about the noise at her birthday party! She is suffering from some kind of sick headache, but it can't possibly be a hangover, as we didn't provide any alcohol .

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 22/07/2016 16:53

HSMGrin

DD's birthday in 4 days, but the parties (not chez nous) have already happened as most friends are away on hol - planning on getting up vv early the next day to drive up to visit my DM in her nursing home, so hope DD's bf doesn't keep her up late!

ErrolTheDragon · 22/07/2016 23:42

After searching every shop in Manchester we found a jacket on a sale rail in next which we'd missed when we went in there first. And a shirt that's ok but not exactly right. Wrong time of year probably, too many summer sales. But we did get the swimsuits which was the urgent thing.

Now to try to find an alternative to black skinnies. And shoes.

ono40 · 23/07/2016 23:46

Just checking out for a week - off to Ireland to see the folks, raincoats and brollies at the ready. We are booked for the Game of Thrones bike tour so that should be fun in the rain! xx

bigTillyMint · 24/07/2016 08:55

New Look bikini's arrived and fitted! Hooray for New Look!

Have just realised that DS will probably need a suit and shirts for his 2week Work Experience in SeptemberHmm

HSMMaCM · 24/07/2016 11:02

DD did her first competitive dancing since her ankle injury and was in tears by the end of it and in agony.

A career as a dancer may be in question now Sad. Glad I encouraged her to keep her options open, but sad that she may have to give it up without choosing that route.

On the plus side her new boyfriend sat through 10 hours in sweltering heat, to watch 6 minutes of dancing, without complaining once.

bigTillyMint · 24/07/2016 11:28

Oh no HSMSad But big Brownie points for the bf!

SugarPlumTree · 25/07/2016 17:30
