Mine has just the one. Has lasted all year although is looking a bit tatty now.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 03/07/2015 20:22

2- wear for a week, then wash and rotate.
She is just finishing Y9 and I bought them in Y7, so 3 years of wear so far.

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/07/2015 20:23

Mine didn't have blazers , but school jumpers , and they each only had one
That way if they lose it , you know

silverglitterpisser · 03/07/2015 20:24

1 but I have last year's at the back of the wardrobe as emergency backup. It'd be pinchy but DD could wear it a day or two til I sorted a new one if anything happened to the current one.

This is lesson learnt after she came home from school with a big rip in her blazer one year, it was utterly unwearable, n I couldn't do anything about it. She had to wear it to school for an hour the next day while I legged it to the shop n then school. I was mortified sending her in scruffy n have always kept last year's as a spare since.

Don't have secondary age DC yet but my own school had a blazer. I had one.

dementedpixie · 03/07/2015 20:26

I have bought 2 for dd starting secondary school after the summer

Philoslothy · 03/07/2015 20:27

2

lljkk · 03/07/2015 20:29

One. It's looking like DD's will last all of yr7-end of yr10 (woohoo!).
DS's was trashed after 2 yrs of use.

ggirl · 03/07/2015 20:29

ds has had one for his first yr of secondary, I am going to buy him a 2nd one , slightly bigger for growth but also to allow for more frequent washing as his gets stained with all sorts

Hulababy · 03/07/2015 20:30

Dd has one. She's had same one for y7&8. On outside still looks fine. Does have a hole in one of pockets inside though.

PandasRock · 03/07/2015 20:33
  1. She's had it since she started in reception, and she's now yr3! It still looks fine, so I suppose the £90 price tag was justified. I am pissed off that a school badge/motto change means that I can't save it for ds when he starts next year, as it has years of wear left in it.
Iforgottotellyou · 03/07/2015 20:33

I have bought 2 for high school in September but then I am a clean freak and always buy 5 jumpers/skirts etc.

Ludways · 03/07/2015 20:41

1, first one lasted Y7 and half of Y8, I'm hoping this one lasts till the end of Y9. I wash every half term or if it's marked in some way mid way.

TeenAndTween · 03/07/2015 21:11

DD has just finished y11. She has had 1 blazer only, and it lasted the full 5 years. Grin

Magicalmrmistofeles · 03/07/2015 21:14

Mine aren't old enough but I had one from yr 7 to yr 11. Can't imagine why you would need two.

Sparklingbrook · 03/07/2015 21:14

One. Washed every Friday, no need for another one.

Fleecyleesy · 03/07/2015 21:16

2 but the blazers are some sort of cheapy polyester so cost ok. Also I buy v large and make them last. It enables me to wash one frequently and also ensure that in the event of losing one, ds will not end up in a detention.

DurhamDurham · 03/07/2015 21:18

Both my girls only had one each sat any one time going through school my oldest managed to make her blazer last a couple of years, my younger one not so much so. She would rip the lining and pockets by sticking so much stuff in them, she rarely managed to make one last a school year.

I don't know anyone who bought two blazers, why would you need two? They inly need to be washed every week or so.

Laquila · 03/07/2015 21:18

I used to have one for school years ago, and I honestly don't think it ever got washed! And my mum is a laundry obsessive. I think maybe she just viewed it as a coat. It was from M&S, and she sewed the badge on - it wore really well and still looked new at the end of the year.

MehsMum · 03/07/2015 21:19

One. Washed when swanky, dried overnight if necessary as fabric is so cheap and nasty.

MehsMum · 03/07/2015 21:19

When SKANKY. I hate autocorrect

ChippyMinton · 03/07/2015 21:19

One. Washed every half-term.

The DSs use them as life-support systems, everything they need is stashed in the pockets. They don't like it when I make them empty the pockets for washing.

wankerchief · 03/07/2015 21:22

1 washed when needed and hopefully will last two years

At £47 a pop I can't afford a spare

cosytoaster · 03/07/2015 21:29

One, washed half termly or when very visibly dirty. Never even crossed my mind to buy two.

zen1 · 03/07/2015 21:30

One. Wash it once a week (though twice this week due to extreme sweaty conditions!). DS is just coming to the end of year 7 and I can't see it lasting beyond another year.
