Yes Errol re the science - DD did Chemistry last year, but it's odd how they have put U2 and 3 together before half-term.

DD should be in for an extra science revision session today, but had a problem with buses(Hmm) and a bit of a meltdown, so she is revising at home. I hope.

Feel sick at the thought of 9 more weeks of this and then the dreaded results day!

SugarPlumTree · 13/04/2015 14:12

Thanks Errol, that's what I have for English Lit. There is just the long list of GCSE, AS and A level times and dates. Great in theory but some like the IGCSE were as clear as mud ie. it didn't actually say it was English.

Think I have worked it out apart from photography, one clash as far as I can see. I am really hoping she comes home tonight with her individual timetable and her mock results They are interviewing again tonight for the new Head after not appointing from first advert applicants. Really really need a good one to sort out damage that has happened since the last Ofsted.

HSMMaCM · 13/04/2015 15:28

DD has had a lightbulb moment and is now in her room surrounded by past papers and flash cards. Yippee

Dd has come home like a cat with two tails. Her Art teacher marked her exam project, then took a mark off each part again to mark it more harshly, and she still got an A*. She is fairly confident she will get an overall A. What a relief that is.
Just the small matter of an A for triple science to work on now Shock

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2015 16:05

Star Dingit, that's great!

Fairenuff · 13/04/2015 16:41

Well done to your dd dingit Smile

TheWordFactory · 13/04/2015 16:45

Hey guys, I'm in LA! Grin.

DH has taken today off and tells me he's fed everyone Cornish pasties from the corner shopShock.

Feels very weird being away from exam fever.

TeenAndTween · 13/04/2015 16:46

Enjoy LA!

Well done to dingit-DD.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2015 16:49

I'm sure they'll survive the pasties. Grin

auntpetunia · 13/04/2015 16:54

Well done Dingit's DD that's brilliant. Enjoy LA word not a bit jealous!

OddBoots · 13/04/2015 16:59

How frustrating TillyMint, I hope she has a good revision session at home. It does feel like it will be a long 9 weeks!

I hope today has brought forth a timetable SugarPlum.

HSMM that is great news. :) I hope it continues.

That is fantastic dingit, it must be such a relief.

I hope you have a fantastic time Word, I am sure they will be fine, pasties or not.

DS has come in cheerful, he had an extra practice for his Drama practical in a couple of weeks and he says it went well.

SugarPlumTree · 13/04/2015 17:31

Excellent news Dingit. Enjoy LA Word, o. Am totally jealous !

No exam timetable still. DD quite flat as got an E in Maths mock. Not looking good for a C in the summer so I'm starting to get my head around her not being able to do one of her A level options she wants to do - unless she is lucky and the Maths resist gets timetabled in the same block as Sociology.

dingit · 13/04/2015 17:39

Sugar, would a few tutoring sessions help? They really boosted dds confidence.

SugarPlumTree · 13/04/2015 17:55

Doing that Dingit. Plus the school are doing sessions too.

dingit · 13/04/2015 18:24

Oh sorry. I still reckon she might pull it out the bag and get her C.
Fingers crossed for her.

SugarPlumTree · 13/04/2015 18:42

Thank Dingit. She has really been trying bless her. Fingers crossed.

bigTillyMint · 13/04/2015 18:52

Fantastic Dingit!Flowers

Enjoy, TWFSmile

DD does seem to have done some revision and is now doing a past paper for Maths tutor tomorrow.

SugarPlum, we will have everything crossed for her. I guess they/the tutor have identified where she went wrong and are targeting what support she gets?

Georgethesecond · 13/04/2015 19:54

Glad you went, word.
What's the weather like?

Littleham · 14/04/2015 10:23

Oh dear. Poor dd3 has two exams scheduled for her 16th birthday.

auntpetunia · 14/04/2015 12:40

Oh god help!!! We've got a standoff caused by Japan Scout Troupe. DS has just come to me with an email from the Japan troupe who in their wisdom have organised a weekend camp for 29 to 31 May....slap bang In the middle of the exams. DS can't see that it's a problem as he'll have had a week off just before for half term so plans to be in school as much as school will let him, and for him the clincher is he has no exams on the Monday so it won't matter if he's a bit tired Hmm. Plus he'll have done a number of exams already.

I don't know what to say... I think it's crap timing but also understand that the group involves kids of all ages so last year some had similar problems, also some of this troupe are from IOM so need travel time,I can sort of see DS's point of view and the weekend does include meeting the mayor for a Japanese meal as well as activities. BUT it's in the middle of his exams. Shock

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2015 12:51

I'd just say no.
TBH I wouldn't have to - I don't think my DD would even contemplate doing anything extra-curricular at that time.

dingit · 14/04/2015 13:16

Ap, could you compromise? Could he just do a day of it?

Ginandtonictime · 14/04/2015 14:25

Auntpetunia - seriously girl ... you have to say no! Nothing is more important than his exams, and the last weekend in May is the very very very last free time he'll have to cram ... don't let him be distracted!

too much? sorry ...

SugarPlumTree · 14/04/2015 14:31

Mock paper coming back so we can see what happened and have warned tutor tonight she is very despondent. I don't think she is consistently not getting areas but panics in the exam. DD was saying she thinks that is why she was a D last year, the marks were based on sections of paper in class and for HW. So when she did the first mock in test conditions she freaked, hence the F. This time she was 4 marks off a D so going in the right direction but we are rapidly running out of time. I've also emailed 6th form to ask if the could let us know when timetablimg done so she can know which of her options the Maths resist would affect. she is really worried it will be Photography or Media.

Littleham that sucks with the timing, your poor DD. Auntpetunia could he do the meal with the mayor plus an activity as a revision break or is it too far away to do that ? DD's travel insurance for Japan trip has just arrived.

I'm waiting for announcement fairly soon about the appointment of the new Head. Fingers crossed they can get someone who can turn the school back round again. Apparently Ofsted are due back in the next few weeks so that will stress the teachers out further just as exams due to start.

HSMMaCM · 14/04/2015 14:36

Today's revision seems to have consisted mostly of trying out some fake tan ... But yesterday's session did carry on until late at night.
