That's great Errol! DD was similarly tongue-tied last year/term with hers, but so far so good. "Just" need to help her to learn it tonight!

SugarPlumTree · 25/03/2015 20:32

Oddboots we'll need supplies for the 11th then BrewBiscuitCakeWine

That does sound like a lot for one day Tilly, huge sympathies to her and to you too. Will have fingers crossed.

Great news Errol, a big relief I can imagine. I'm a bit nervous about DD's speaking exam on Friday but hopefully will be ok .

bigTillyMint · 25/03/2015 21:39

She's babysitting ATM. Not sure if she's learning the French or not...

dingit · 26/03/2015 07:39

GCSE art exam today. Hopefully if she produces a piece like this she will nail her A

Wow, dingit! Is that a drawing? It looks A* to meSmile

dingit · 26/03/2015 08:05

Yes she drew it last night for her course work. thank you, we will settle for an A, so she can do Graphics next year!
she also won the Croydon schools art award ( very proud of my girl Smile)

ErrolTheDragon · 26/03/2015 09:48

Wow - I'm no expert but that not only looks technically good but it's got depth - it makes me wonder what happened to that woman to put that look on her face and body language.

SugarPlumTree · 26/03/2015 10:07

Bloody hell that is amazing ! I've seen a few GCSE pieces recently after that 10 hour exam they do, her piece blows all the others out of the water .

dingit · 26/03/2015 10:18

Wow. You lot are cheering me up. I thought Art was her shakiest subject.
Part of me wants 20th August to be here now, so we know what she's doing, but we have a fantastic summer ahead of us too!

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2015 11:13

If that is her shakiest subject, then she's going to ace the rest!

Hope DD manages to get through all the CA's and ISA's today - she said she did learn her French this morning, so fingers crossed.

OddBoots · 26/03/2015 16:15

I hope your dd has had a good day bigTillyMint, hopefully getting so much done will be a weight off her over Easter.

Wow dingit, that is brilliant. :)

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2015 16:43

Sadly it seems DD has not had a good day. She is currently in her bed and won't tell me what happened, though she said she did her English but not the other two. DS thinks she forgot her FrenchSad

dingit · 26/03/2015 17:00

Poor little mite Tilly, it probably went better than she thinks. She's had quite a packed day, she must be shattered.

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2015 17:02

Yes thanks, definitely shattered - hopefully she'll tell us over dinner.

SugarPlumTree · 26/03/2015 17:09

Really sorry to hear that Tilly Sad That was far too much for the School to schedule in a day really.

Littleham · 26/03/2015 17:37

Your poor dd Tilly. That sounds like a nightmare day. Hope she feels better soon.

Love the picture dingit.

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2015 19:01

Apparently she went blank when she got to the French CA so has to do it tomorrow. The English CA clashed with the Biology ISA so she has to do it tomorrow on her own with the Science teacher that DS loves, but she doesn't! And she will have to do it after everyone else has gone - half day tomorrow. No wonder she's pissed off.

Am gearing her up to practise her French with me after Hollyoaks.

TeenAndTween · 26/03/2015 19:20

Sorry for your DD Tilly , hope it goes better tomorrow. At least she is getting the chance to have a second attempt.

OddBoots · 26/03/2015 20:33

Oh no Tilly, I am sure it will work out in the end but that must be gutting for her and really difficult for you too.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/03/2015 21:02

Best wishes for your DD tomorrow, Tilly.

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2015 21:06

Thanks guysSmile
We have run through it a couple of times and she seems to know it pretty well. I think she must have wound herself up before she went in and then froze. I dont think she even attempted itConfused Everything crossed that she doesn't do that again tomorrow.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/03/2015 21:18

Sounds quite like what my DD did with her first German, Tilly - completely paralysed by her inability to pronounce 'ich' properly. But then she realised that saying any of it would get some marks, even if she did fluff bits it would be a lot better than nothing. It doesn't have to be perfect - they credit if you get something right but as I understand it don't actually penalise if you try something and get it wrong.

bigTillyMint · 26/03/2015 21:23

Yes, thanksSmile That's what I keep telling her, but anxiety affects some more than others...

ErrolTheDragon · 26/03/2015 21:28

The speaking CAs must be the worst... the combination of exam nerves and 'stage fright' would be bad enough without having to do it in forrin!

dingit · 27/03/2015 06:37

Wishing your dd luck today Tilly.

Up at silly o clock today to wave dd of on her 'French' trip. First on the agenda is Disneyland Paris so I'm not sure how much practice they will get Smile
