Peter Murrell is in court in Edinburgh today. This is for the preliminary hearing which was postponed from before the election. It will be interesting to see how the criminal proceedings proceed.

I have to wonder if Nicola knew nothing about all these purchases of makeup etc who they were for? Is Murrell going to come out as a woman? Is that why the SNP are fighting so hard for men in women’s prisons so Murrell can get an easier ride?

The interesting question about this is why Murrell specifically wanted these items removed. Could it be because they implicate Sturgeon? 🤔

I find it quite ironic that NS in promoting Scottish Independence at the time was somewhat creative with the future financial stability of Scotland being independent without any funding whatsoever from Westminster.

There were a lot of financials that made not an iota of sense in the grand scheme.

Now it also appears that her, her husband and the SNP as a whole presided over a party that presented fraudulent accounts and their own books didn't financially stack up. Somewhat like their vision for an independent Scotland overall.

BigAnne · 28/05/2026 15:07

@TobyEsterhase The two tribes don't have an affiliation with the SNP. Their loyalty is to either England (Rangers) or Ireland (Celtic). Some of them don't even support the Scottish national football team. I doubt they vote for any political party. Thankfully they're not all like this but there is a hard core of morons.

Thankfully that failed and independence was voted against! It’s utterly terrifying what an incompetent shower they are.

There is a hard core of sheep that can’t see the wood for the trees.

How the heck Humza Y got to be first minister beggars belief too. Zero interest in Scotland.

Can you imagine being in receipt if these gifts and thinking shit !

I bet at the time it was all just one big wheeze - they were viewed as perks of the job, the recipients knew full well where they were coming from, and simply didn't want to question the gravy train. There were enough people who were prepared to block anyone who dared question it, so they all felt quite safe and happy to accept the freebies for services rendered to the SNP cult.

Swinney knows it was widespread - and he needs to keep the lid as tightly sealed as possible as a result. He may even have been a recipient of a freebie himself. Murrell is absolutely getting something in return for taking the blame - I just wonder what.

I voted for Humza, then Kate. Didn’t rank Ash.

Unsurprising

Exactly! It's not exactly a small purchase, y'know, something like a Lalique salt and pepper set for example - it's a bloody big purchase! Even if your DH decided to buy one on the spur of the moment just because, you'd still have a conversation along the lines of 'how is that being paid for', 'what are your plans for it' and 'where are you storing it, cos it's not stopping on our driveway', and 'are you actually mad'. You'd ask questions FGS - something NS was trained to do as a lawyer and politician. She must honestly think we came down in the last shower (or that we're as stupid and as unquestioning as her stalwarts - one of the 2).

Do we believe her?

(Personally, given that my head does not zip up the back, I do not.)

Jeez. If my husband had plead guilty to embezzlement I would be holed up in a hotel somewhere avoiding the public. Just what is she playing at?

YellingAway · 28/05/2026 18:47

I think she was so used to having absolute power with no challenge to her authority and doesn’t realise that’s all changed and her reputation is in tatters.

No
The more statements she gives the less I believe her (and I started from a low base !)

100%. Did she not give one initial, brief statement on the first day and say she wouldn't comment further? Think she's since released at least three more across two days! You've been found out, we can all see the man behind the curtain, you can't undo that!

Same. She needs to keep quiet now - she's fooling no-one. In fact, none of them are - they're neck deep in this muck.

Yes, and all via the self publicist that’s Aamer Anwar 🙈

He’s the dregs …absoluty dreadful.

ilovebrie8 · 28/05/2026 20:04

He’s representing the 2 that attacked the Manchester police.

TipsyLaird · 28/05/2026 20:21

I remember in the 80s and 90s whenever you saw some headcase in the High Court being defended by Donald Finlay QC you knew they were 100% guilty. Amer Anwar appears ro be taking over that role.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 28/05/2026 20:28

Now she’s claiming she never went in the kitchen so didn’t see all the expensive kitchenware purchases. 🙈🙈 Only problem is all the photographs…

My family were involved in a sort-of high profile trial in the early 90s and my younger cousin was genuinely confused when the defence wasn’t Donald Findlay as he had seen him on the news after so many trials that he thought DF was the defence for everyone in Scotland who went on trial. Genuinely didn’t realise there were others, he was only 11, but it was very funny 😂

Helpmaboa · 28/05/2026 20:47

Donald Finlay is a good lawyer though
