I met this Scottish man and he is simply amazing and wonderful, so interesting and kind with the sexiest accent ever, es the best. I went to scotland for the first time with him and fell in love with it. Would i be crazy to move there???!

I don’t think we are as hierarchical a society as elsewhere- many subscribe to the ‘a man’s a man for a that ‘ / we’re all Jock Tamson’s bairns’ philosophy. Strangers speak to each other readily on public transport (which seems to be used by a wider strata of society than in many places) and if you take a tumble or whatever, it would be rare not to be helped. There’s a really nice attitude in public museums and art galleries - eg toddlers in nursery groups visiting the Scottish National Gallery are told that the art belongs to them - the Scottish people.

The water out of your tap is often very nice. Not like London ( shudder).

The weather may be chillier but that may be a good thing the way things are going climate wise. It also means that the cities feel cleaner/ fresher than down south. The summer days are lovely and long.

Midges only afflict some areas and even then are safer than mosquitoes as don’t carry horrible diseases.

Water is great and people will tell you every bit of their business at a bus stop or train station.

Zero filters. I’ve had people taking their court stuff out of their bags to show me what they’re in trouble about. 😱🤣

I once asked a wee man how to get to the high court from Argyle Street (Jury duty and I’m dyspraxic so right/left doesn’t compute). He took me! Actually walked me to it. Then told me it was a pleasure to meet me and that I shouldn’t let the bastards grind me down. 🤣

I’ve had some of the best laughs in my life in Glasgow.

We could also all start an argument in an empty house as you’ve seen on your thread.

Plus as @EvelynBeatrice says we have great museums and art galleries which are open to all.

They changed the formula a good few years ago. It’s not the midgie deterrent it used (or was claimed) to be.

Aberdeen and the east coast is not very midgie though, so that’s a plus. Too cold and windy. And when you do get a lovely summers day, you can bet the haar will roll in to put a stop to it.
