This WILL be interesting. Even if it doesn’t rid us of the SNP from Holyrood, it will provide a good barometer of public opinion on the recent exploits of the SNP.

Farewell Blackman and Black!

Why are so many people so obsessed with other people's genitalia? People know themselves better than anyone else knows them.. when they tell you who they are, why wouldn't you believe them? What difference does it make to you what gender someone is? They're not doing you any harm. It's bizarre to be so hateful.

Their gender is irrelevant. In some circumstances it matters what sex they are.

Escapetothesun · 24/05/2024 12:26

I'm fact it's quite similar too Mr Johnson saying that enough 'stupid peasants' will vote Boris . He was right.

People aren’t just “who they say they are” though are they? Factual reality also exists. I could say I identify as size 10 and aged 30 but I am plainly not. Why is it only gender people can self identify and not any other characteristics ?

Also what are your trans friends so afraid of? Genuinely? They seem to be the most pandered to group in society as far as I can see and least likely to be victims of crime. What is there to be scared of?

Problem is short terminism pampering to voters doesn’t really get to grips with the major problems and you need someone who can fully absorb complicated policy and briefs . It wouldn’t matter to me which party he led I don’t believe there is anyone else in Government today with his formidable brain power . Uncomfortable I know as he’s Conservative but unfortunately true .

However don’t worry as this will never come to pass . We should all be thinking what we can do for our country as per Kennedy .

no bedroom tax

Which means the absolute wa-hoo next door to me is in a 3-bed house with a big south-facing garden she's run derelict and overgrown.

That’s one case. I knew of many tenants in social housing begging for a downsize, being told nothing was available and then being told they’d need to find extra money for their rent from… somewhere. Thankfully because we live in Scotland they could get discretionary housing payment. Not to mention the cases of those whose children had autism and could not share a room so bedroom tax was imposed.

That one case next door to you- presumably if she is responsible for the gardening then there will be a clause in her tenancy to that effect, you could ask her landlord if it’s really affecting you, but overgrown gardens can be great for wildlife. If the house is derelict through wear and tear that might well be the landlord’s responsibility.

I hope that we end up with no Conservative MPs in Scotland and a big majority of SNP MPs as we need to show Westminster that we are fed up with them.

And what of us that are sick of the SNP fuck ups and cover ups and there have been many.too many to list.

PrimalLass · 25/05/2024 05:34

kikisparks It's definitely not that's she's planned a wildlife garden 😂

Maybe we could have a happy middle ground between families unable to move and single people unable to downsize and/or not looking after a house that's too big for them if the council and govt were sensible about it.

Exactly.

It does my fucking head in when the SNP geniuses go on about fair representation when they've had 80% of the seats for under 50% of the vote and the rest of the country has been scrabbling to be represented in WM by a few people.

And yet you'd rather that that half of the population weren't represented at all and the empty headed greviance spreading arses had even more seats?

And you think that you are helping the Scottish people? Behave yourself and grow the fuck up?

I despise the SNP and the everything they stand for but people have the right to agree with them, vote for them and be represented by them. Unfortunately.

John Swinney has clearly been brought back as a stop gap to take the flack. He’s had a terrible few days already, what with the Matheson debacle

Misthios · 25/05/2024 08:38

Postal vote applied for - may well be away from home on July 4th. 5 minute process, the only fiddly bit is that you need to upload a photo of your signature.

https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote

This is the link you need, you (obviously, because it's all special and different) apply separately using a different process for postal votes in Scottish elections.

Apply for a postal vote

Use this service to apply to vote by post so you can take part in certain elections in the UK. You must be registered to vote in the UK.

OurfriendsintheNE · 25/05/2024 09:02

Thanks @Misthios. I’ll be doing the same.

If I can figure out anyone to vote for that is. Been looking up my Labour candidate this morning and disappointed to see she lives hundreds of miles away and doesn’t seem to have ever lived anywhere near here. I suppose my constituency is a bit of a lost cause for them, but I wouldn’t have taken much convincing to vote Labour if I felt there was a committed local candidate.

Liblabflipflop · 25/05/2024 10:42

Anyone come across the edin north and leith labour candidate Tracy Gilbert? Her bio is pretty dull and seat doesn’t seem to be a top labour target…

Yes.

You have kids in your school in Scotland that arrived in small boats? That seems really unusual

There are hundreds in Scotland, part of the national transfer scheme.

I probably shouldn't speak for @NotTooOldPaul , but I suspect the "taxed by the English" part isn't a reference to personal taxation, rather the fact that Scotland sends Billions to London, receives a portion of it back, and then is given no explanation or breakdown on what the rest of it is actually spent on.

https://www.deliveringforscotland.gov.uk/scotland-in-the-uk/public-spending/

You also get a breakdown of what tax is spent on in your personal tax summary.

Public Spending | Scotland in the UK

Public revenue generated in Scotland was £87.5 billion in 2022-23, while it benefited from £106.6 billion in public spending.

What's the deadline for announcing candidates? Only two parties have declared in my constituency so far. The invisible SNP current MP and a labour 'dull as dishwasher' local councillor.

I think it is 16:00 on Friday 7th June. That is according to this web site

I think it's very clear after Isla Bryson and the recent ERCC case and the 36 nurses saying after being essentially sexually assaulted by being forced to change with a biological male that innocent people ARE being harmed.

And as did believing who people say they are, should we accept Rachel Dolezal is actually black? And that Stefoknee is actually a 6 year old girl and not in fact a middle aged man?!?!

Catch yourself on.

Rainbowshit · 27/05/2024 12:31

And as for being obsessed with genitalia, it's not us that are promoting barbaric surgery to alter people's genitals, to be a non functioning poor facsimile of the opposite sex with lifelong issues.
