That's quite Fife specific. When I moved to Edinburgh and got a job in a shop I said to my boss "I'll just put these baffies on this display here" and he had not a clue what I was talking about. On the flip side of that, it took me a while to work out that people were wanting gym shoes for school when they asked for "rubbers", I showed the first couple of people to the stationery section only to be told, "No, not rubbing rubbers, running rubbers." Very confusing.

Outwith drives the :general mn population "daft. They hate it its an Americanism blah blah . So Islip it posts in sometimes just for devilment😄
