@Whatthediddlyfeck I hope so - as opposed to a ‘we’ll just let this one quietly fade from the collective memory then if someone asks we’ll issue a statement to say no further investigation is needed and everyone is cleared - move along now, nothing to see’

But still current, no? Given that the enquiries by the Police are ongoing and no charging decision has been made?

We're not going to forget about it, you know. However much the nationalists want to sweep it all under the carpet.

It’s ongoing and relevant…just like the police enquiry

Its hardly zombie territory and I’d imagine this will keep running…until the SNP shenanigans stop…so that will be….probably never

Another very old thread

A thread from April is not old. It's also still a love situation.

You can try to stop people talking about the shitshow that is the SNP but you might as well be pissing in the wind.

Aurea · 08/08/2023 06:44

Can you post a link to the Times article pls?

Igneococcus · 08/08/2023 06:54

I did @Aurea I can see it, can you not?

Aurea · 08/08/2023 06:58

Ahh sorry. It's not showing on the Mumsnet app but I can see it on the webpage.

RandomGeocache · 08/08/2023 08:35

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-66434333

same thing reported on the BBC. I understand why they are charging things like lounge access at the airport for security reasons. Yoga classes, nail polish and driving theory tests for staff though??

2015

Civil servants in Scotland made 58,000 bank card transactions

Data seen by BBC News shows fast-track airport services were bought for former FM Nicola Sturgeon.

RandomGeocache · 08/08/2023 09:04

Times also reporting that they bought 22 copies of a book called "How to Run a Government".

Seriously, you could not make it up.

Scottishskifun · 08/08/2023 09:08

I mean the fact that 21 copies of "how to run a government so that citizens benefit and tax payers don't go crazy" tells me a lot about how competent the Scottish govt is......

SirChenjins · 08/08/2023 09:31

Ahh but independence/they’re better than the Tories.

Seriously, that’s the extent of their voters critical thinking which is why we have this shitstorm at Holyrood.

medianewbie · 08/08/2023 09:40

Whatthediddlyfeck · 06/08/2023 00:39

It’s ongoing and relevant…just like the police enquiry

Indeed. It is nowhere near 'old' or 'settled' yet.

It took Margaret Ferrier what, nearly 3 years, to face consequences for her fannying around in London when she had Covid. I'll wait 3 years for NS & the loons that are the SNP to face all the consequences, but I hope I dont have to.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/08/2023 11:42

It's an arrogance borne of there being no credible opposition. They do what they want because they know they're staying in power.

It's one of many, many reasons why a strong opposition is so important.

annabelindajane · 08/08/2023 11:56

Now we know what went wrong .

The books were clearly not up to scratch . They can now stop blaming Westminster and blame the authors . No wonder they were so feckless with our taxes . At least someone benefitted from the yoga and nail polish unlike the ferries and DRS scheme etc etc

SirChenjins · 08/08/2023 12:07

The problem isn’t so much a credible opposition - it’s the fact that the unionist vote is split between the opposition parties which means that the nationalist vote is focused on one party (Alba has yet to be embedded). Then of course we have a bizarre voting system which enables parties like like Greens with a handful of votes to hold so much power - and do the rot continues.

TheBelmont · 08/08/2023 12:21

I’m cringing so badly reading those press reports….so embarrassing. Absolute grifters.

I can't see @Igneococcus Times link either (unusually - I'm always grateful to her for her sterling work on linking Times articles)

There is just nothing after the colon. I'm on the app (iPhone)

Perhaps the settings have been changed. Like Twitter where I can read the tweet linked to, but can no longer read a thread (no account)
