Oh dear. I am shocked.

Chersfrozenface · 30/06/2023 12:11

Have they looked down the back of the sofa?

Is anyone's dog looking shifty?

SirChenjins · 30/06/2023 13:09

Well now - there's a surprise. Said no-one ever.

TheBelmont · 30/06/2023 14:30

I love how they are minimising this….

Oh it only relates to one line item relying to “membership, donations and raffle income”

yes…which for 2021 accounts was £3.5m out of a total £4.5m or 79% of total income (and actually three income streams).

So a qualification on the biggest line item on your financial statements is a HUGE deal.

interesting no qualification on expenses…they must have kept the receipt for the camper van after all 😁

It's okay, it's only incompetency, not fraud. Great!

Bit like this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-66069034
The bottle return was another poorly planned policy long before any UK intervention (in fact that is a gift of a distraction).

I also wondered, if it applied to glass would that mean jars as well as bottles or was it only ever bottles? It would just seem a very poor time to slap 20p on things like pasta sauce. Though I never really got my head round the whole thing as it seemed doomed to fail from the offset..

I am starting to wonder if incompetency isn’t the worse of those two terrible options, and it goes so deep that the SNP aren’t even able to recognise that ‘well, the thing is, we can’t even manage to pay some accountants to do our books properly or store the relevant receipts properly’ makes them look ridiculous.

2userspast3 · 01/07/2023 11:34

If it was ONLY incompetence or ONLY fraud, I suppose we could "look on the bright side". But sadly...

SquidwardBound · 01/07/2023 11:47

Yes. There is no bright side here.

GrouchyKiwi · 01/07/2023 12:29

I guess it's what happens when the other political parties are so dire the SNP is a shoe-in in practically every constituency so they rush through candidates without thorough vetting etc and then have to use the frankly under par people they have to fill roles.

Sugarfree23 · 02/07/2023 20:14

I've not really been following this thread but I look forward to SNP trying to answer Orkneys claim that they are treated less favourably than both Western Isles and Shetland, they'd consider going back to being Norwegian.

Sugarfree23 · 02/07/2023 21:49

I've got recollections of Shetland also considering breaking away - I can't remember their conditions but it might have been if Scotland voted for independence.

user567543 · 03/07/2023 08:44

I’ve said it before but more areas of Scotland should consider this - there won’t be a meaningful border anyway.

TheBelmont · 03/07/2023 08:52

Edinburgh next? They voted no for independence. Unfair to take the city out of the union when the majority don’t want it…

RandomGeocache · 03/07/2023 09:19

And East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire too.

SirChenjins · 03/07/2023 09:30

The only areas that voted yes were Dundee, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire - perhaps they could club together and form a wee nationalist enclave?

Sugarfree23 · 03/07/2023 10:06

The Borders and Dumfries & Galloway both voted remain.

It's almost worrying that we could end up with a Northern Ireland situation on our hands.
But SNP just need to get on with the day job. Improve schools, the NHS and create quality jobs for people. It's nuts that they seem to want to handout benefits rather than get people off benefits and into quality jobs.

BigBoysDontCry · 03/07/2023 10:11

It's their campaign at the moment that the only way to get change is to vote SNP. Do you think they've forgotten that they've been in power for 16 years? We need change alright... 🤔

annabelindajane · 03/07/2023 12:08

On more SNP shenanigans Paul Di Marcio a former SNP councillor alleges the party leadership rigged a selection contest against him in favour of Anum Qaisar who did not live in the constituency and is now the SNP mp for the seat .
Her father is a wealthy local businessman and a very good friend of Humza and co who possibly has a large supply of white envelopes.

SirChenjins · 03/07/2023 12:15

😲 surely this has to be investigated?

BigBoysDontCry · 03/07/2023 13:08

There are photos of the murrels at the wedding too.

2userspast3 · 03/07/2023 13:56

So Orkney used to be part of Norway? Then presumably the Scottish Government would support a wish by the majority of Orkney residents to return to Norway, if Norway will take them?

SquidwardBound · 03/07/2023 15:14

How much is the dowry? The people of Orkney could probably have a whip round and pay it themselves. 🤣

IWillNoLie · 03/07/2023 15:45

I also wondered, if it applied to glass would that mean jars as well as bottles or was it only ever bottles? It would just seem a very poor time to slap 20p on things like pasta sauce.

or jars of baby food. I think it was only bottles but I don’t know what the definition was or whether a bottle could identify as a jar….
