Happy new year! Thanks for the new thread. Hope to do less railing this year 😉 but that resolution will fail by Jan 3rd, no doubt

@WouldBeGood

In great news, the Premier Inn buffet breakfast is back!
2022 is starting well Grin
Scottishskifun · 01/01/2022 10:41

Glad you had a nice getaway @wouldbegood despite it being plan C!

BeanMachine · 01/01/2022 10:43

I will pass that Premier Inn news on to the rest of my family - big fans Grin

(Maybe this will be my unintentional new year's resolution: to stop lurking and start getting more involved, who knows?)

mapleleavesreturn · 01/01/2022 11:07

Much love for premier inn here, reliable. Packing for exciting trip to the home of golf tomorrow here!

rookiemere · 01/01/2022 11:10

HNY all, just back from Vogrie parkrun, thankfully still on despite dire wind warnings.
I may not have heard correctly but I think the organiser said that Welsh parkrun's are cancelled for now , so at least we've still got ours.

I hope you enjoyed your PI breakfast @WouldBeGood . Always good apart from the coffee which is dreadful. Did they have Nutella? It was disappointing in London as was hoping to get some to bring back for DS but there was none out < possibly because of people like me Wink>.

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 11:13

Happy New Year folks!
Thanks for a new thread @WouldBeGood.
And here's to the Premier Inn buffet in 2022! I hope I get a couple in.

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 11:15

Travelling to see family is top of my list this year.

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 11:16

I'm not a runner just an enthusiastic observer but thank goodness park runs are on.

Scottishskifun · 01/01/2022 11:25

@rookiemere yes they are as Wales have limited to 50 people at an outside organised event! Welsh govt were criticised by the UK govt for the move due to actually it being pretty safe (as it's bloody outdoors!!!) and exercise which is good for people (and their mental health) but they gave a typical "public health" response to it......Xmas Hmm

heelforheelandtoefortoe · 01/01/2022 12:02

happy NY all

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 12:11

It's like public health has learned nothing in 2 years.
Get the country out exercising seems like a no brainer.

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 12:11

I can't get over scouts not being able to meet outdoors for so long.

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 12:12

I'm trying for new year to put moaning behind me!
So here's to ScotGov for having parkrun on.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 01/01/2022 12:13

When my son was wee he called the Premier Inn 'the night night moon hotel'.

I'm railing against him now being a very loud not quite so cute 10 year old Grin

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 12:15

Ah The cute, creative things they say.
Then the grunting years begin😂.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 01/01/2022 12:16

Happy new year railers. I have a stinker of a hangover and cooking for 6 tonight. So that's my first moan of 2022

rookiemere · 01/01/2022 12:33

Wow so SG is less strict than WG.

OldaRailer · 01/01/2022 12:33

She's getting there.

ssd · 01/01/2022 12:43

Railing against the big football games on in England and the old firm here cancelled. So unfair.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 01/01/2022 12:46

Your name rings especially true today then @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 Grin

runningpink · 01/01/2022 13:15

Thanks @WouldBeGood for the new thread

Yes I’m so glad we have parkrun still. Hopefully the Welsh reassess soon
335 at Portobello this morning. Busier than it has been but quiet for a NYD run. Think the NYD double stopping is the reason for this

It was blooming warm for running, not what you expect for January!

Haudyourwheesht · 01/01/2022 13:15

Happy New Year everyone. Smile I wonder what variant we'll be on by 2023.

Scottishskifun · 01/01/2022 13:24

@rookiemere

Wow so SG is less strict than WG.
Yes they have been on certain things throughout and not on others it's weird! Some of the Welsh rules definitely haven't made sense either and they were extreme to the nth degree with fines. They still have maternity rules in place as well and some of their hospitals only allowed partners to visit as late as Aug 2021!

We have a lot of friends who live in Wales, some were prohibited from working as outdoor instructors but if they went to England they could!

But then Wales til recently didn't have to wear masks in restaurants and pubs and no masks in Schools.
