Here to be nice 😇

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 19:43

Good to see you @WouldBeGood, I wouldn't expect anything else, it's more of a reminder to me than anything else!

That's me just back from being double jagged. They were running late -arms are a bit wabbit...

Thanks for new thread. This is my favourite Mumsnet thread. Smile (Don't tell the Masterchef or Strictly people.)

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 20:03

It's our secret @GrouchyKiwi Wink

I'm really missing DS2 who is away at Uni. This is his 3rd year so I should be used to it and I don't really miss him too much normally, but I haven't seen him since August when we visited and he hasn't been home since June :(

He's happy, he's busy and he'll be home at Christmas. I'll probably be fed up with him after 2 days Grin

Aw @ElephantOfRisk 💐

Boys are great. DS has been lovely tonight, seeing I’d been upset by the jagging. 😊

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 20:47

That's lovely, well done that boy.

I think it's because it was DHs birthday and we didn't do what we would normally as he wasn't here and I've been doing his Christmas shopping too so he's been on my mind. He was saying he's got 4 assignments due before Christmas so he's trying to get those done before he comes home.

Aww i know what you mean @ElephantOfRisk. Ds1 was abroad for 3rd yr and i couldn't believe i hadn't seen him for so long
It was very strange

prettybird · 24/11/2021 22:14

Went to rugby training tonight - first time I did the full session since I caught Covid at the beginning of the month. I coped ok and it was fun Smile

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 24/11/2021 22:43

I'm isolating as my colleague has coronavirus, totally asymptomatic so we had no idea. So boring.

Booster on Monday though (if I don't have Covid of course...)

On the upside it means I get to work from home tomorrow instead of the crazy day I was meant to have. Glam on the top, jammies on the bottom Grin

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2021 08:53

Sounds like a top outfit @BlameItOnTheBlackStar 🤣 Hope you get the all clear.

Well done @prettybird. Bet that felt good, if chilly!

ssd · 25/11/2021 10:55

Hope you're negative @BlameItOnTheBlackStar
And @prettybird, do you play rugby or am i being thickGrin

ssd · 25/11/2021 10:56

I'm going swimming today, my arm is sore from the booster and im hoping swimming eases it a bit. Am working all weekend fri to Mon, busiest weekend for retail and am expecting chaos. So a nice relaxing swim is just whats needed.

prettybird · 25/11/2021 11:12

Yup @ssd - for my sins, last year, age 58, I started playing rugby Shock Because of Covid, I only played my first game aged 60 - a sub for the 2nds team but i have put in a successful tackle on a woman-mountain from Hamilton Grin but I did chicken out of one on a strong tall woman running at speed at Greenock but we'd already comprehensively lost that game Wink

ssd · 25/11/2021 11:35

Wow. I'm really impressed Smile

RaraRachael · 25/11/2021 15:44

I've had a nice week at work. For the first time in about 8 weeks, I've actually been able to do my own job for my whole 4 days without being pushed from pillar to post.

It's not much, but it's meant a lot to me,

GrouchyKiwi · 25/11/2021 16:06

That sounds good Rachael. Smile

It's bloody freezing today. My hands nearly froze solid while I was hanging out the washing this morning. It has more or less dried, which is good.

DD2 and I made tomato soup and focaccia for lunch, which was lovely.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 25/11/2021 16:15

I'm about to make a big pot of spicy chicken noodle soup, usually does me a few days. There's a yellow weather warning for tomorrow so will be a good time to stay in with unlimited soup (and jalapeño cheese bread from Tesco).

titsintiers · 25/11/2021 20:01

It was absolutely freezing today.

Has anyone had a mine pie yet?

ssd · 25/11/2021 21:13

I bought baclava mince pies from lidl but they were very dry

titsintiers · 25/11/2021 21:29

Aw that's disappointing @ssd

RaraRachael · 25/11/2021 21:32

Ooh all these soups sound delicious - just perfect when it's absolutely Baltic. I'm making a big pot of lentil soup tomorrow and the breadmaker will be on nice and early. LOL the one decent thing my mother ever did for me was to leave her lentil soup recipe Grin
I'm not fond of mince pies. I can eat them but prefer the puff pastry ones, which are becoming increasingly rare.

ssd · 25/11/2021 22:14

Ive just seen on the news app there's a new horrific mutation of bloody covid in South Africa. Sorry i know this is meant to be light hearted but I'm just bloody sick of it all. Keep thinking of your oh fuck what now news meme @WouldBeGood.
Sums it all up....

In better news, i had a lovely swim and i keep getting the waft of badedos in my hairSmile

ssd · 25/11/2021 22:15

Sorry for mentioning covid here @ElephantOfRisk

Wont do it again.

shouldistop · 25/11/2021 22:23

@ssd

I bought baclava mince pies from lidl but they were very dry
I don't know about baklava mince pies but with normal baklava you need to dip it into sweet, black camomile tea.
