Thanks groovee! You see, why can't she just say it clearly and simply like that!
I still think the exemptions for self isolation for children/ double jagged are crap (need to have a negative pcr test) . First, they won't be available for anyone who tested positive in the past 3 months as you can't get a pcr test in that case (even if that rule is relaxed, it may still test positive wrongly). And second, it's still 2-3 days out of action while you order, do and wait for results of a test - which is going to be a PITA for parents/ employers etc. Of course, people with access to the drive through/ walk through centres may get away with just a day or so, but anyone relying on the home tests will be disadvantaged as they take at least a day to arrive after ordering (usually after the last post has gone!).
The CO2 monitors in schools may be a good thing, or may just be more window dressing - if a school isn't well ventilated, as proved by the monitors, I'm not sure what you'll be able to do, other than opening a window! Maybe installing more ventilation stuff? Though I'm sure schools would rather that money could be spent on other things- like having buildings that aren't falling apart...
And AT LEAST 6 WEEKS of school restrictions?! I feel so sorry for the children and teachers. The worst thing for DS last year was having to stay in his class group at breaktime, in a tiny bit of the playground, and not play with his friends in other classes. I was so sure that would have been better this year
Ach shite.
