I wonder what tier we'll be in when we can go on holiday without tests and vaccine statuses - tier 101?

mibbelucieachwell · 03/08/2021 11:58

After a fantastic day on a west coast beach yesterday what a come down to be back in rainy east Dunbartonshire drying washing on radiators and waiting for yet another covid update.

Anyone know what time she's on?

Scottishskifun · 03/08/2021 12:28

I hope she gets rid of the social distancing indoors especially for leisure activities!
We haven't been able to take DS swimming outside his private lessons at all! The damn stupid tank things and the massive limit that has on slots means it's always booked up within 2 minutes of it going live for the next week at midnight!

riverrunning · 03/08/2021 13:59

Ah swimming, we don't mention it anymore as it just causes upset!

Groovee · 03/08/2021 14:11

Face coverings to be kept.

Track and trace will continue.

Self isolation staying the same.

Local closures will take place if needed, along with travel restrictions.

Home working to continue. Hybrid working to be considered.

Large scale events to be monitored indoor and outdoor.

Ventilation and hand washing etc.

Social distancing will be no longer mandatory from Monday but is advised.

Developing an app for Covid status. Will be available next month.

Lockdownbear · 03/08/2021 14:14

So nothing actually changes. What a waste of time.

Lockdownbear · 03/08/2021 14:15

Cheers for the update Groove.

How is MrG doing?

WouldBeGood · 03/08/2021 14:15

Seems like if you are double jagged and get a negative PCR test then you don't need to isolate. That will help massively with staffing issues when someone has to isolate. I know the current nursery team are all currently jagged. Although I dunno how we would identify close contacts of under 5's as they move so quickly.

Justmuddlingalong · 03/08/2021 14:17

By Christ, she can fair waffle. I'm grateful to those who weed out the actual information and post it in layman's terms. My brain just can take in what she says.

Groovee · 03/08/2021 14:18

@Lockdownbear

Cheers for the update Groove.

How is MrG doing?

He's doing well. But I feel he needs some physio as he's struggling with getting up and down. He's feeling good but still building up his stamina after 8 months of being housebound really. Thanks for asking x
Justmuddlingalong · 03/08/2021 14:18

See? My brain can't take in what she says.

Mistressiggi · 03/08/2021 14:19

No whole class isolations in primary but close contacts are very likely to turn out to be the whole class anyway!
Masks at secondary for 6 weeks (though "under review"). She said staff to keep 1m distance from other staff which is a change from last term.

Mistressiggi · 03/08/2021 14:20

Sorry, being kept under review

Groovee · 03/08/2021 14:21

That's my thoughts too x
Haudyourwheesht · 03/08/2021 14:26

But staff are vaccinated. I thought the reason she was retaining nonsense mitigations in schools was because kids weren't vaccinated. But staff are, so why the 1m distancing? Surely if anyone should be 1m apart it should be the kids, but obviously that's not possible. Confused

Also, presumable the dirtiest places of all nightclubs can reopen - but with masks? You have to wear masks to dance? Because you don't have to wear a mask to jump on a trampoline in a trampoline park. How the hell are you going to get off with a stranger if you're wearing a mask??

riverrunning · 03/08/2021 14:29

It's a bit emperor's new clothes again - what exactly has changed?

Social distancing advised but not mandatory?

Bloody hell.

Mistressiggi · 03/08/2021 14:31

Haudyourwheesht aren't all workers suppose for aim for 1m SD though? Not just teachers. They could still pass it to each other and be off sick.

Groovee · 03/08/2021 14:31

Thing is, my colleagues are much less likely to sneeze or cough in my face. My under 5's take the sharing suggestion a bit far some days.

Mistressiggi · 03/08/2021 14:32

(I merged the comments about schools and nightclubs together in my head, and was wondering why teachers needed to be able to get off with each other when it's not even Christmas )

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 03/08/2021 14:33

What a dick!

Mistressiggi · 03/08/2021 14:33

It's long hours. It can be hard to meet people. Grin

Masks in nightclubs??!!
