It's official. I have melted

DecorChange · 16/07/2021 16:56

We only reached 24 today :( I'd be cold on the sun though

FelicityPike · 16/07/2021 16:57

It’s to be even warmer next week!
We’re not made for this!!

Horehound · 16/07/2021 17:19

We are at 28 Deg. O tried gardening which was a silly silly thing to do!
Oh god I'll be a puddle of mush if it gets hotter!!

flapjackfairy · 16/07/2021 17:21

Agreed. Midlands here 27 degrees. I hate it !

Horehound · 16/07/2021 17:23

Yeabit just means anything you do you end up as a big sweaty mess. Think I've burned one arm. Ufti prefer 20-22 Deg

DecorChange · 16/07/2021 17:27

I'm quite happy in 30+ weather. People take the piss out of me for wearing a jacket in 21°

Horehound · 16/07/2021 17:33

@DecorChange jeez how can you tolerate it?!
I'm Constantly drinking water, slathering suncream on then hiding inside. I've seen women in the south of France wearing fur coats when it's 21 deg. Madness!

I love the heat but only if I can be outside soaking it up and not having to do much.... don't love it that much when i have to carry on with normal life😁
My house is currently 28degrees 🥵 and I work shifts so have had 2 hours sleep between night shifts. My workplace is uncomfortably hot so we were all a bit delirious last night!

BoatsBoatsBOOOATS · 16/07/2021 17:38

Scottish people are like huskies, we’re not built for heat!

SoMuchForSummerLove · 16/07/2021 17:49

It's 28 degrees here. I just made the kids tea while I was still working, so had to sit next to the cooker. Then they want to go to the park.

AND I HAVE TO DRIVE SO CANT EVEN HAVE A BEER.

I'm going to keel over any minute like a fat Scarlett O'Hara.

Elune · 16/07/2021 17:54

28 degrees here in north-east Scotland. It ain't right. DH has a fan pointed as his balls, I'm in the bedroom we we have an aircon unit there and DD is so hot and bothered she's wandering around shouting at the carpet.

0blio · 16/07/2021 17:55

Think of me, I'm Scottish and live in England! It's too hot for me every summer.

Trying to sleep at night just now is a whole other level of hell 🥵

LoveFall · 16/07/2021 17:58

My sympathies, especially after experiencing the "heat dome" over western Canada at the end of June.

Just returned from a trip to the interior of BC. It was very hot at Shuswap Lake and unfortunately the skies were very smoky from forest fires. Like a fog. Couldn't see across the Lake.

I hope you avoid any fires.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 16/07/2021 18:05

It's 28°C here in Cumbria today. We're very similar to Scotland usually. We are melting in solidarity!
It'd be excellent if there was a breeze.

Sally872 · 16/07/2021 18:09

Love the heat on holiday where there is a pool and air con. Struggle here trying to get food shop and other chores down when it is so hot! Has kept the children entertained though as they have played out a lot so that is one positive.

Properly lolled at the ball fan! I am so jealous of your air con. I've tried keeping the curtains closed with a breeze coming in but actually I think I should have kept the windows closed 🤔

Ooooh I'm sitting at the harbour now and it's fabulously windy

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 16/07/2021 18:28

This will be my third day in a row swimming in the sea. It's the only way I can cope.
So hot.
I'm having to water the greenhouse every day which is just a bit much.

Horehound · 16/07/2021 18:31

Oh I love swimming in the sea. And I just moved to a 5 min walk from the beach so that'll be something for this weekend!

I live in an old granite house where the downstairs rooms don't ever exceed 18oc even if it's 28 oc outside (like it is now). It's a bugger to heat in the winter though.

TheCanyon · 16/07/2021 18:36

I just asked dh if he wanted to move round to the front garden to chase the sun, he said naw. I'm either going to bed or taking the wine round front...

Horehound · 16/07/2021 18:37

Lol

I'm the weirdo who still sleeps with the duvet and puts on fleece if its under 25!
I'm loving the heat, I still have jeans on though.

eccecc · 16/07/2021 18:42

I had to stay in today. Too hot and burnt.
