It's official. I have melted

We are camping - my eyeliner and brow pencils have melted. I did not pack for this and am a frizzy, itchy, sweaty, red faced mess who only brought one pair of shorts! (my actual looks not and angry face) Thank fuck there are no mirrors in the tent. 29 degrees this morning if it is that tomorrow when we are packing up it will be torture!

At least it is cooler today! But yeh I really wouldn't fancy camping in that heat...eek!

I'd love it to be a little bit cooler personally.
Why can't it just be nice ? Sunny but not boiling , enough to be able to do things without melting into the ground ?
Summers of my youth were not like this!

Heat is fine if we had a proper pool out the back (not paddling pool), a clean beach with clean water that wasn't icy cold either.

So its not as enjoyable as it is when you go abroad.

I don't want to go to a beach full of rubbish and dog shit and fuck knows what else on it.

We just sold out house with outdoor swimming pool...damn!

We are up visiting family in Arbroath next month. Be reassured, whenever we do it’s pissing down and cold. Not long to wait.

I’d love to move to Angus, such a nice part of the world. DH won’t leave the south though.

Where is it still hot? Fife is so grey this last few days; I feel like the summer is over. Spiders are creeping out which always feels like the onset of autumn to me.

May I suggest if you're carrying a tube of lip salve in your bag, you store it in a wee plastic bag. I didn't. Melted to liquid lip salve makes a horrible mess. 😫😠

Oh no!

Sometimes I despair. We have an extremely hot west facing apartment. It becomes extremely uncomfortable late afternoon and evening because the sun blazes into large windows. We often go to bed with our place in the high 20s.

We are a "strata" building which we own our apartment ourselves but common property including balconies are owned jointly.

We had our AGM last night and I spoke about mini split air conditioners.

There was lots of concern about noise, about putting a three inch hole in for installation etc etc etc.

One person even said instead of air con you can go to a hotel! One person said he loved 27 or 28 degrees and he never slept better than during the heat dome over Vancouver.

There were some very supportive and the Council was asked to look into it but honestly...

Painfully reminded of the time in France that I returned to the tent to apply some of my soothing balm to chub rub. It's shape of my legs I get chub rub no matter size I am. In my rush to soothe I didn't notice it had melted, warmed up extremely and essentially poured boiling oil on my already raw inner thighs. On the agony
