Starting this thread for those of us who are done. I don’t want to just rail or fight about it with those who still believe that government messaging is in our best interest. Enough is enough.

@MichelleScarn that’s hideous. I’m so sorryFlowers

@ssd Good on your ds for helping to clear up the mess. Doesn't change the fact that thousands of fans trashed the place, and clean up wouldn't have been necessary if they'd behaved better in the first place. Not the impression I'd want Scotland to give.

@MichelleScarn that's awful. Priorities are so messed up now.

Wakeupin2022 · 19/06/2021 23:17

Not the impression I'd want Scotland to give.

If I was a Londonder I would be more worried about the spread of Covid than a wee bit of litter.

Flossy05 · 19/06/2021 23:19

Our P7s weren’t even allowed a tour of the school and a couple of outdoor lessons scheduled for an in-service day when all the high school kids were off!

Haudyourwheesht · 20/06/2021 06:59

If Londoners are concerned about Scots bringing Covid to London, perhaps they should complain about the high profile 'visit London' tourism campaign that's been running up here.

Or maybe be more concerned about the flights full of people coming in to their airports daily, from all over the world.

Wakeupin2022 · 20/06/2021 07:42

Haud i'm guessing you would be saying the same if it was England fans from anywhere else.

NS has banned travel to some cities yet you can still go to Dundee where case rates are also very high!

Can you really not see why some people isn't find this hypocritical and double standards?

Wakeupin2022 · 20/06/2021 07:43

That should say England fans coming to Scotland.

WouldBeGood · 20/06/2021 07:48

Unsurprisingly, I’m in.

Enough is enough.

Bytheloch · 20/06/2021 07:56

@HappyPumpkin81 missed the detail of your message yesterday. This would send anyone to the ‘I’m done’ point. Hope you’re ok?
Someone in my community - who works indirectly with children- is also currently isolating despite negative flow tests and a negative PCR test, following ‘symptoms’ which she knew was hayfever- negative tests and double vaccined, still now at home and yet her older child is not included in the isolation ‘order’ and is still going to high school🤷‍♀️ The inconsistency and confusion with the isolation rules is baffling- as T&P appear to be applying methods with no individual assessment of situation and disregarding test results. I agree @HappyPumpkin81 where is the anger over T&P powers that are forcing people into these situations?
My friend is absolutely done now, enough is enough.

@Wakeupin2022 Yes, I would be just as happy if the game had been in Hampden and a significant number of English fans had travelled here for the game, provided they conducted themselves no worse than the Scotland fans who travelled south. I like to see people enjoying themselves, and it appears that the link between cases and deaths has largely been broken.

mondaywine · 20/06/2021 09:31

I transition visits to high school in our area, only enhanced transition. My p7 is full of worries that could have been alleviated with a half day visit to the high school. No proper p1 transition either. Last year I did get to meet my p1 class. We did small group visits. This time I have met one child. Maybe I should have set up a football match for all the new p1s and then perhaps they could have came into the building?

Sausagema · 20/06/2021 09:36

I’m in.

My wee one was meant to have a playground visit with half her class (so 8 other kids) for her p1 “transition”. We moved to level 1 and it got cancelled. I am raging. They got bloody transition visits LAST year when we had no vaccine. Then I see the football stuff, I could go to Edinburgh to pubs, etc etc. But once again our children are not prioritised. I’m over it and have been for some time. The mad isolation rules are the worst thing now we have the link broken between cases and deaths. People are more afraid of having to isolate than getting covid. I have a friend who was a contact of a pos case and she is double vaccinated. Still had to isolate for 10 days and take multiple tests. WHAT IS THE POINT!

Sausagema · 20/06/2021 09:37

Sorry, that was very rambly.

StarryEyeSurprise · 20/06/2021 09:41

It's sad re the transitions. Our P7s had their transition afternoons last week and the P1s and their parents were assigned appointments to come up to the school and meet the teacher.

Babdoc · 20/06/2021 09:45

Case rates of Covid in Dundee are just as high as Manchester.
But no sign of Sturgeon banning Dundonians travelling to safer areas of rural England. Or banning Scots travelling to Dundee.
The woman has no sense or logic in her stupid grandstanding. I wish the Scots would see through her, before she destroys our hospitality industry completely.

Wakeupin2022 · 20/06/2021 09:52

Yes she does. She is excellent in what she is trying to achieve. Stoke hatred in Scotland for anything English. And then she gets her independence.

StarryEyeSurprise · 20/06/2021 10:00

You're not really making sense. Our hospitality industry is being destroyed because she's asked that people don't take non essential trips to Manchester this week?
StarryEyeSurprise · 20/06/2021 10:04

Also, the English Government have advised against non essential travel in and out of certain areas.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 20/06/2021 10:07

I'm totally with you and I'm travelling to England tomorrow myself (not Manchester).

RedactedTaeFeck · 20/06/2021 10:11

Read the room.

The OP:

"Starting this thread for those of us who are done. I don’t want to just rail or fight about it with those who still believe that government messaging is in our best interest. Enough is enough."

And once again, there is no "English government"

Confused re the point of the thread tbh. The OP doesn't want to rail, doesn't want to argue or discuss... what is to happen here then?

People can post on what they like @RedactedTaeFeck no matter what the OP says you don't get to police it. It's a public chat forum.

WouldBeGood · 20/06/2021 10:34

Yep, people can post what and where they like but we can consider it rude if we like.
forfucksakenett · 20/06/2021 10:39

Of course. But comments like 'read the room' and reposting the OP in order to exclude someone from the thread isn't saying 'oh that's rude and I don't agree with you' it's saying 'take your opinion elsewhere'.
