Starting this thread for those of us who are done. I don’t want to just rail or fight about it with those who still believe that government messaging is in our best interest. Enough is enough.

@Bytheloch

Calcium in the custard too (and the cream if you squint a bit) A trifle is positively health foodGrin
Perfect - i'm glad I chose to prioritise that rather than the salad that is also going out of date! :o
WouldBeGood · 28/06/2021 21:59

Yes, all fruit counts

I’m aiming to ressurect the Clyde shipbuilding industry with my underwear requirements

ElephantOfRisk · 28/06/2021 22:02

I went to the Lake District for a week, ate out etc and managed to lose 4lbs Shock. I think although meals were bigger (and I had some alcohol), i wasn't snacking so much while there was an audience to comment.

I'll just need to keep going back until i get the figure i want.

Lidlfix · 28/06/2021 22:14

My DF and I demolished 2 cocktail trees today. Is that salad as trees are plants etc?

Talking of underwear. I desperately need some new knickers!

Just plain, boring comfy ones. Where is good nowadays? Will need to be online as not doing shops until masks are gone!

ElephantOfRisk · 29/06/2021 08:54

I like sloggi pants, about £15 for 3 pairs on Amazon, cotton with enough stretch to keep things tidy but not as uncomfortable as control pants. Just everyday comfy.

Thanks! I'm looking as well. Taking DS into the city to see his psychiatrist but his autism is so bad he can't be in shops or public other than doctors so need to shop online.
charliebrown59 · 29/06/2021 09:30

Sainsbury's do good basic pants too I find. Amazon is great for sloggi though.

Bytheloch · 29/06/2021 13:10

Covid chat is pants. Literally.

In non pants news she’s been forced to lift the Manchester travel ban ..

Wakeupin2022 · 29/06/2021 13:42

Thankfully the UK government is not banning travel to Scotland.

Can you imagine how vocal she would be if England had a fraction of the total rate that some Scottish areas have.

ElephantOfRisk · 29/06/2021 13:46

Was there any talk about the level situation?

After 'careful consideration of the data' apparently. The data showing Mancester levels are lower than several Scottish regions maybe? Or maybe 'data from her lawyers pointing out its not enforceable. Whatever the case, one thing we can be sure of is that we'll never see said data.
Wakeupin2022 · 29/06/2021 13:55

I don't get why there is still the different tiers?

I know there is not really much difference but some areas in Tier 1 have very high rates.

ElephantOfRisk · 29/06/2021 14:05

I've written to all my MSPs about the levels. It's really not fair that Stirling has businesses still unable to open when it it has rates a third lower than many areas with less restrictions. They either need to be the same for everywhere, removed or applied fairly.

I'm also a fan of giant Sloggi pants that properly go up to your waist and cover EVERYTHING.

I've started making my own pants now though (Made By Jack's Mum Wunderpants for the machinists amongst you).

Can't believe I used to voluntarily wear thongs - and strings - made from diamante! Yep... pants which epilate with every stride.

runningpink · 29/06/2021 16:04

Thanks for the pants recommendations. I shall have a look this evening.
Being on annual leave is not a good thing…I keep buying stuff online!

You can get them in different styles but i do own some of the "full briefs" as well as midi ones - the are all good to be honest :)

I also used to wear some very brief thongs and briefs - they do nothing to help with a c section apron though - sloggi manage to deal with that perfectly and since they are cotton they are nice an breathable as even 20 odd years later, i have to keep an eye on the scar.

Matilda2013 · 29/06/2021 22:27

Very excited that Manchester is allowed again. Going on Friday for a weekend away and I'm just happier to not have to lie to anyone on the train Smile

WouldBeGood · 30/06/2021 07:04

Oh, have a great time, @Matilda2013.

AlphabetAerobics · 30/06/2021 09:05

My holiday cottage booked in November got cancelled last night. I would put serious money on them having had a "better offer" from England...

Anyone know what the refund situation is? It was paid in full back in November and we've been offered next week instead... Hmm

Haudyourwheesht · 30/06/2021 09:59

@AlphabetAerobics Make sure you give them a shitty review.

runningpink · 30/06/2021 18:14

Just caught a snippet on the radio and it sounded like Jason was defending it being the footballs fault for the increase in cases.

Didn’t catch it properly so I could easily have picked it up wrong.
