Oh no!
Anyone think she will reintroduce any restrictions or do you think we will be ok?

Haudyourwheesht · 21/06/2021 20:14

She's very limited in what she can do while the foootball's on, realistically. She mentioned extending pub opening hours... I wonder if she's waiting to see if cases drop when the schools shut. She's bought herself a few weeks anyway with last weeks delay.

shouldistop · 21/06/2021 20:21

What time is she on tomorrow?

Groovee · 21/06/2021 20:36

@shouldistop I try to get them competent with scissors and putting lids back on pritt stick.

Got 1 off at work as parent has Covid. Hoping there's no more.

titsintiers · 21/06/2021 20:40

I think she's setting out post tier 0, may I suggest getting in the time machine and going back to 2019. It's pretty simple.

WouldBeGood · 21/06/2021 20:43

Yes, @titsintiers absolutely

@Groovee he can do both Grin maybe he's more ready than I thought.
Defo needs more practice with cutting up food, buttons etc.

Well Scotlands infection rates are apparently the highest in Europe so no doubt she will be fuming! But hospital numbers are still low so she's going to be hard pushed especially as furlough starts tapering off! So she doesn't have much in the armoury and I for one am thankful for it if it means no more bloody lockdowns!
rookiemere · 21/06/2021 21:19

I've just read on another thread that a school handles it's own isolation notices, so you wouldn't get any further contact which I thought would be useful information certainly for me.

Now wondering what we're supposed to do if we get a notification for DS when we're away. I mean obviously I know what we're meant to do which is drive straight back and paint a red cross on our door, but back in the real world.....

latissimusdorsi · 21/06/2021 21:41

@rookiemere if that's the football thread there are posters in England speaking about what happens in schools there. It all got very confusing🤷🏼‍♀️

rookiemere · 21/06/2021 22:02

@latissimusdorsi it wasn't that thread, but right enough it might refer to England. But thinking about it, it would be tricky to confirm that DCs are isolating. Presumably you can't phone them directly for a number of reasons and the school would presumably need my permission to share my telephone number, so it seems unlikely that they would go to that bother for a contact rather than a positive case.

I don’t want greater normality. I want normality.

titsintiers · 22/06/2021 10:03

Absofuckinglutely

ResilienceWanker · 22/06/2021 10:19

Yes... totally. I thought we were going back to normal over the summer? Now it seems to be tied into certain milestones that have been plucked from somewhere, and that forming a pathway out of restrictions...towards a greater degree of normality. What does that even mean?! When can I sing hymns in church or go to a museum or cafe without having to book and sign in, and when can DS play with his friends in the school playground without being shouted at for breaking bubbles..or meet his new teacher? Aaaaargh.

latissimusdorsi · 22/06/2021 10:22

Yeah some newspaper editor was on sky news last night talking about continual moving of goalposts. 1st it was restrictions to protect the nhs, then it was until we got a vaccine, then until the vulnerable were vaccinated, then everyone over 40, then new variants (which there will always be), then all adults vaccinated blah blah blah

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 22/06/2021 10:35

I just cannot get my head around how she can stand there today and impose any restrictions what so ever after the weekend. I actually think testing should replace isolation for healthy people but she can fuck right off with her just a few more weeks.

I have been sent 7 rapid tests for one day at the fanzone. Absolute overkill. Why spend all this money on these tests but still he stuck in for 10 days.

I want the game to go ahead tonight. I'm gutted for billy Gilmour but it makes an absolute mockery of everything people have sacrificed this last year

SoMuchForSummerLove · 22/06/2021 12:20

Same way Boris can fill Wembley and push 'Freedom Day' back a month I guess. The whole thing really is falling apart at the seams now.

My son was only allowed one parent at an (outdoor!) football match the other day, so my DH had to check in, give details, etc. At the end I just walked in too - what possible harm could there be in me standing on the side of an outdoor pitch, when we've had thousands of people in stadia and FanZones??

I was sort of desperate for someone to stop me but nobody did Grin

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 22/06/2021 12:23

@SoMuchForSummerLove oh Boris is a bellend I have no doubt about that.

It's the fact that when she pushes 2 weeks after that date our summer holidays are basically over.

Everyone I know is having parties/pub etc tonight which is fine but the school isolations need to be looked at again. If testing is good enough for footballers then it should be good enough for the kids.

God these fucking players better play the game of their life tonight. Will be even more raging if all this was just so we could get beat 😂

God I'm a grumpy bitch today!

SoMuchForSummerLove · 22/06/2021 12:28

Yeah we are definitely disadvantaged by our earlier holiday dates Sad

PoloMintPatty · 22/06/2021 14:46

I'm railing that my family can't all meet up together (too many of us) but I've just read 60,000 will be let into Wembley for a semi final.

The rage is real.

frasersmummy · 22/06/2021 14:51

oh god 9.1% positivty.. here we go again .. I reckon in a few weeks we will go back into lockdown ... where and how does this all end

WouldBeGood · 22/06/2021 14:52

We need to stop testing healthy people.

I have been fine for a while now but this is sending me back down again. It seems to be never ending
titsintiers · 22/06/2021 15:54

Significant normality from 9th August apparently, that doesn't sound as though it's from someone who's looking down a lockdown barrel. Admittedly she has u turned before but I don't think we're there right now.

Infection rates will drop over the holidays.
