@RaspberryCoulis

Just booked tickets for one of the evening sessions at Edinburgh Zoo in a couple of weeks. Will be so lovely to do something normal.
I'd love to do this as we live down the road but no idea if Mr G will be well enough.
WouldBeGood · 27/05/2021 20:55

@Groovee how are you doing?

@Haudyourwheesht glad you’re done!

5 hours is a long time to be under! He'll be feeling pretty rough. Hope he has a quick recovery

runningpink · 27/05/2021 20:57

@Groovee

Mr G got the recovery staff to call me. He was in near enough 5 hours. He felt like he'd done 10 rounds with Josh Taylor. Otherwise I have no clue how it actually went. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My texts haven't been read. Hopefully hear tomorrow x

I hope he responds to your messages soon. The op is over with so that’s the main thing. Let us know how he is tomorrow.

Hope you are doing ok as well

shouldistop · 27/05/2021 20:58

He's probably fallen asleep again @Groovee I find it difficult to stay awake for the first 12 hours after a GA and then my short term memory is affected for 24 hours too.

shouldistop · 27/05/2021 21:01

@RaspberryCoulis that sounds nice. We've yet to take the kids to Edinburgh zoo, maybe later in the summer. We're going on holiday down south next week 🙌🏻 Me and the boys spent the afternoon at the David Lloyd, had another great day feeling like covid didn't exist Grin DS1 even said "mummy, I don't think there's any corona virus here"

Haudyourwheesht · 27/05/2021 21:07

That's great @shouldistop. One of my favourite things is when we spend a day doing something as a family and I realise that we've done exactly what we would have done if there was no covid.

WouldBeGood · 27/05/2021 21:07

Oh, @shouldistop that’s lovely and heartbreaking

I'm fine. Settled in bed

Have had an update:

Lags fine tummy in comfy

I’m translating that to legs fine, tummy uncomfortable 😂😂

😃 sounds like the meds are working for him @Groovee! Hope you get a good sleep and he’s home soon

We have to come home from England tomorrow ☹️. Been such a lovely holiday, we stayed in the Peak District in a house with a shared swimming pool. Covid worked in our favour as you booked slots to get the swimming pool (tiny but fun) to yourself. It wears lovely not having to worry about the kids annoying other people by dive bombing and laughing 😀. Also no one else used the pool much so we’ve basically just swam all week with some walking to the pub thrown in.

Back to normal life again after the weekend and I just don’t want to go home.
Hope mr G is feeling a better soon and everyone with kids at high school (or working in a school) are coping with the stress

shouldistop · 27/05/2021 21:54

Lags fine tummy in comfy

I'll have some of what MrG has had Grin

My last op they gave me ketamine after I came round as I woke in a fuck load of pain. I was out my tree for hours afterwards, twas great.

shouldistop · 27/05/2021 22:12

Apparently 80% of adults in east Dunbartonshire have had first dose of vaccine and only 60% of Glasgow. Wtf are they doing?!

Haudyourwheesht · 27/05/2021 22:22

I don't know. There's talk of ethnic minority communities being less likely to accept vaccines. Maybe it's that. The government are (understandably) not elaborating on that.

The number of students who are maybe registered here but not currently resident here may also be a consideration.

WouldBeGood · 27/05/2021 22:22

I think it’s take up @shouldistop, but the SG has apologised for delayed letters

To be fair - and you know I'm really not one to defend the scottish government - the demographics of East Dunbartonshire are different. Older people on the whole, lots of doctors/nurses, fewer 20 somethings who gravitate to the city/west end.
shouldistop · 28/05/2021 03:01

@RaspberryCoulis I know but I think it's crazy that they didn't try to speed up vaccinations in Glasgow right from the start. 20% seems like a huge gap.

Lockdownbear · 28/05/2021 04:14

Clearly there was some sort of mess up at the weekend when half the appointments at the hydro were no shows.

They need to get their act together.

shouldistop · 28/05/2021 06:20

I know, that was terrible. It was a couple of thousand no shows wasn't it?

titsintiers · 28/05/2021 06:39

It was. I agree with @RaspberryCoulis Glasgow has a younger and more transient population so it'll be slower than smaller authorities like East Dunbartonshire.

StarryEyeSurprise · 28/05/2021 07:21

Most of Glasgow has low rates still. It's only in specific as that the rates are high. These are Easterhouse, Govanhill and Pollockshields. In two of these areas, there are challenges with encouraging some of the demographic to take vaccines- I worked in the area previously. My friend's also the practice nurse in Govanhill. Lots have been done and lots have queued to get their vaccines at the walk up clinics but there are still challenges co.lared ti most areas of Scotland.
