But it makes no sense @Haudyourwheesht

WouldBeGood · 12/05/2021 19:29

We have highly effective vaccines.

The people who die or end up in hospital have been vaccinated.

It’s all great and a triumph of science.

EvilOnion · 12/05/2021 19:31

This is from MSP (Moray) Facebook page regarding vaccinations for info.

Not sure why that posted twice Blush

Haudyourwheesht · 12/05/2021 19:39

@WouldBeGood I completely agree. But it looks to be the way they're going.

mibbelucieachwell · 12/05/2021 22:56

The recent spike in cases in Moray since thing like the number per 100,000 that Glasgow and North Lanarkshire had for months on end. Numbers in Glasgow are much worse now. I hope they offer priority vaccines for Glasgow now. By Friday when the final decision is due to be announced Moray looks likely to have significantly lower numbers. Glasgow, on the other hand. C'mon Scottish Government get your act together now please.

I don't know if they will have enough supply to accelerate it like they have done in Moray. Although it seems like a massive jump it's less people then a large hub does in 3 days.

So another area in England is offering the vaccine to all over 18s and to age 38+ in the rest of the country, when will Scotland catch up??

OP posts:
Icannever · 13/05/2021 15:13

My sister has hers this week in Fife and she is 39. Most people I know in their 40s have been vaccinated in the last couple of weeks so Fife seems to have got a move on at least

randomsabreuse · 13/05/2021 15:18

I'd love to get my first jab done before the summer holidays so I don't have to deal with both kids while feeling shit... 2nd jab will then be safely in the autumn term. I'm very nearly 40. Hopefully it will happen!

emmathedilemma · 13/05/2021 15:25

We're never going to catch up now, I'm mid 40's and still haven't had a letter but my appointment is booked in the system for later this month but we're weeks behind England.

Scottishskifun · 13/05/2021 18:29

I got mine yesterday from being on a phone call list (it's Pfizer so was end of day last dose would have gone down the sink otherwise). My area has put front facing key workers on the call list and they are getting quite a number of no shows.

Grampian region are fairly steaming ahead now after a slow start (not counting Moray in this). I hope other areas speed up must say the small centre I went to was excellent and really well set up!

latissimusdorsi · 13/05/2021 18:36

Meanwhile Glasgow and Edinburgh continue to take up the rear🤷🏼‍♀️

dancemom · 13/05/2021 19:34

And in the areas where there is an increase, G41 and G42 they are doing asymptomatic testing rather than vaccinating 🤷🏻‍♀️

ToooOldForThis · 13/05/2021 19:35

My friend got her in Glasgow today (mid 40s, same as me)
Not a snifter in Ayrshire

florafoxtrot · 13/05/2021 19:40

BiL and SiL and a few pals in their mid to late 30s got their letters today. NHS Grampian. Hoping ours arrive in the next week or so.

WouldBeGood · 13/05/2021 19:48

Mid forties people jagged south Lanarkshire this week.

The whole of the Lothian’s I think. I’m 45 and DH 46 and still no letter. I’m a teacher who has worked throughout in school. I can’t believe I’ve still to be vaccinated along with most of my colleagues.
DieSchottin93 · 13/05/2021 22:33

I'm Grampian area and a 36 year old colleague got his letter for his first vaccine next week. Hoping this means I'll be getting mine by next month (late 20s).

mondaywine · 13/05/2021 22:58

Has anyone had a pcr test at Edinburgh airport recently? Any idea how long roughly results are taking?

Icannever · 13/05/2021 22:59

Fife was really behind until a week or so ago and it seems to have caught up in a rush. It seems they needed a break to change over to different venues as the halls etc would be getting used again for other purposes. Hopefully Lothian and Glasgow will be the same. I don’t understand why they are not accelerating the Glasgow vaccinations though

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/05/2021 23:12

@mondaywine have you contacted the helpline? My letter didn't arrive - I would have missed my appointment if I hadn't called. 44/45 year old friends in Edinburgh have appointments - some have had letters, others found out by calling helpline.

Haudyourwheesht · 14/05/2021 07:19

They should have accelerated Glasgow vaccinations ages ago. The numbers have been high and stayed high throughout. They really only dropped below 50/100,000 in the past few weeks so it's not that surprising they've gone up again. It's not like the likes of Argyll or Aberdeen going to from very low levels. We've discussed the reasons for the high numbers till we're blue in the face but the fact remains that the numbers have never really dropped. It's just that most people didn't really notice as the rest of the country was dropping.
