@Lockdownbear

Self Inflating Mat, they have a foamy sponge type material in them that draws the air in to inflate them. The foam provides insulation as it holds the air in small pockets.
Ah thank you x
@Groovee ooh I've heard about that cafe at Saughton and never been. Enjoy your lunch !
It's lovely. Normally we walk there, grab takeaway, find a bench and walk home but Dh can't walk for the time it would take.

Groovee · 15/04/2021 17:44

@WouldBeGood

I’ve only been to Saughton to go to the jail.
I've been there too. The park however is much nicer.
Groovee · 15/04/2021 17:45

@RedactedTaeFeck

Used to love saughton gardens, the beautiful rose garden and bandstand then a run around the grassy bit (where the play park is now) there was an older park in my day at the east gate which had a proper paddling pool. Happy days.
That's the park I remember as a child then at primary they moved to the current park.
UnderHisAye · 15/04/2021 17:53

Same here @ResilienceWanker I will rail against camping until the end of time.

Leaving my home and heating and fridge and hair straighteners to go and sleep in a sack on the ground, and heat up hot dogs over a small flame?

Fuck that.

Groovee · 15/04/2021 17:54

I'll be honest, I most likely will not camp.

Icannever · 15/04/2021 18:15

I am not a fan of camping but am easily talked into things everyone in my house wants to do 😬

WouldBeGood · 15/04/2021 18:46

I’m not really a fan but so so bored and I’m fucked if I’m spending thousands on a damp midge ridden bothy when I could just pay £9 a night, or nothing 😂

Though scarred by childhood I will never never go to a Scottish island or on a ferry

I remember the new park area opening - those swings that looked like orangutans hanging from the bars Grin. I used to take my nieces and nephews when they were little and staying over at my mum's.

I was gutted when I took my 2 and they had removed the orangatan swings. I loved them.

Often took my brownies to the park on nice nights too when I did brownies nearby x

@WouldBeGood - far too well dressed to be a social worker - brilliant Grin!

Groovee · 15/04/2021 21:20

@WouldBeGood

I remember being outraged when I went to the gate at being asked “Agent or social work?”

Luckily the other guy said “She’s far too well dressed to be a social worker” so I felt vindicated 😂

😂😂 that's made laugh. I delivered the papers. The officers were always nice to me.
rookiemere · 15/04/2021 22:03

We're off to North Berwick tomorrow- sound the klaxons we are released!

I am a bit wiped out because sideways work move that I thought hadn't come through has now come good so I've now got the nervous excitement of starting a new role soon. Not sure I can cope with that and everything opening at the same time. I mainly applied for a frisson of excitement from interminable wfh.

Anyway it is good - I'm basically planning on sideways moves every couple of years now until retirement- but I'm emotionally frazzled.

titsintiers · 16/04/2021 07:02

Enjoy your trip at @rookiemere I love North Berwick

riverrunning · 16/04/2021 08:08

We did some family socialising last weekend and we were exhausted from the effort - how will we cope with the freedom? Grin

rookiemere · 16/04/2021 08:11

@riverrunning we have a couple of friends coming this evening for virtual outdoor wine tasting after a day out at North Berwick- DH also has a tip trip late afternoon- worried it may all be too much for us (thankfully wine tasting ends at 8 so it won't be a late night)

riverrunning · 16/04/2021 08:30

Good luck - hope it stays lovely weather!

Blurberoo · 16/04/2021 09:05

@Icannever The cafe at the findhorn foundation is really good. There is a fab bakery in Nairn who stocks the patisserie cakes in the cafe and the shop. I highly recommend the almond croissants! They look like blobs but taste incredible! The beach is beautiful too, as is Cuilben forest across the river.

shouldistop · 16/04/2021 10:05

Can someone please remind me that the 4 month sleep regression doesn't last forever? I got 2 hours sleep last night and baby ds screamed at me for 30 minutes before going down for his nap. Ds1 was also in a foul mood this morning going off to nursery.
I just feel like a terrible mother, dh had to come off his laptop and settle the baby for a nap which obviously I'm grateful for but it just made me feel worse Sad why would he go to sleep for dh and not for me?

Mistressinthetulips · 16/04/2021 10:15

It will indeed pass. Babies are always worse for their mums aren't they - something about feeling safest with you so they can safely show their emotions. Can you get a minute to yourself at all today? Brew

shouldistop · 16/04/2021 10:17

I'm meant to be getting my nails done at lunchtime and dh is taking the baby for a walk but I'm so tired and tearful that I'm now dreading sitting making conversation for 90 minutes with the girl who does my nails. I think i really don't cope well with no sleep.
Sitting staring at the baby sleeping now and feeling guilty as I was getting so frustrated earlier.

littlbrowndog · 16/04/2021 10:23

Aw shouldistop

I feel your pain. Can’t rember the last time I had a full nights sleep

Take your phone and buds. Listen to a book or a podcast or just some music

Just tell her you are very tired and just want to chill no need to chat

titsintiers · 16/04/2021 10:28

The fresh conversation might make you feel better @shouldistop

Hopefully you'll get more sleep tonight, I can cope with whatever life throws at me so long as I've had enough sleep. Being tired is bloody awful.

WouldBeGood · 16/04/2021 10:28

@shouldistop oh no! Don’t cancel your nails though. I’m having to do mine myself and am very jealous. You’ll feel better when it’s done.

@rookiemere have a lovely day. And evening.

I’ve been in my treadmill. Trying to do a mile a day: that gives me an incentive to go as fast as possible to get it over with 😄
