Hmmm What do we need to do to get Logic and his pal Common Sense back to work?
Surely they've had a long enough holiday.
Are you sure they weren't furloughed?

Logic is furloughed and won't be back for a while as his boss doesn't seem to think he's needed until everything is open again. They're cost cutting and think they can manage without him, spreading his work around between McClueless, MakeItUpAsIGoAlong and LaLa NotListening. Common Sense is self employed and not entitled to SEISS so she had to go and get a random job at the beach, but she kind of enjoys it as she doesn't have to deal with so many fucknuggets compared to her previous role as a consultant for the Scottish Government.

It's going to be a struggle to get them back

Icannever · 14/04/2021 18:04

Fifes back at school but there’s nothing to do here 🙄

Icannever · 14/04/2021 18:05

Well there’s lots of outside things but not much that is fun enough to need booking. Dont make the mistake of thinking Fife zoo might be a good day out as it only has about 5 animals 😀😀

Scottishskifun · 14/04/2021 18:34

@StatisticallyChallenged 😂😂😂😂 thank you that brightened up my rather crap and frustrated recovery day!

Can't blame common sense for sticking at the beach! 😂

Cheers for the warning on Fife Zoo, I didn't know Fife had a zoo!Grin

I just want to GO somewhere. But wary of going somewhere really busy. Kids are 4 & 10.

ResilienceWanker · 14/04/2021 19:15

Grin statistically Perfect! Fingers crossed they're back in time for your belated housewarming.

I think at least 3 of the animals are wasps icannever.

I'd assumed Edinburgh (ahem - midlothian) IKEA would be rammed groovee. That's sounding more appealing by the minute if it's not that bad.

Groovee · 14/04/2021 19:30

@ResilienceWanker I was really shocked at how quiet it was. Possibly the nice weather 😂

shouldistop · 14/04/2021 19:58

My mums coming round tomorrow morning to play with / hold the baby while I do some housework. That will be such a big help, I don't really like asking for help but my mum hardly gets to see the baby so I think she's pleased.

riverrunning · 14/04/2021 20:13

And wasn't it a nice day! Escaped to the park at lunchtime and ate an icecream on the way home without freezing. Even took my coat off, but not the long cardie.

statistically love it. Will we ever see a full return of logic and common sense?

riverrunning · 14/04/2021 20:13

I told my younger dd we were off to Northumberland end April last night and she screamed with delight Grin

shouldistop · 14/04/2021 20:18

@riverrunning aw that's lovely Smile we're off to Millport in a couple of weeks, fingers crossed the weather is good.

riverrunning · 14/04/2021 20:28

Definitely fingers crossed for good weather!

Aww. Think we're all going lockdown crazy
WouldBeGood · 14/04/2021 20:54

DP has agreed to go camping!!!

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 14/04/2021 21:41

Yay for Mr WBG!
Where to?
I can recommend the Moray coast, it's got everything: sand, rocks, cliffs, shingle etc.

WouldBeGood · 14/04/2021 21:56

I’m going to book that place linked earlier, at findhorn. 😊 I can’t actually believe he’s agreed! Going to do a couple of nights to see how we go.

@WouldBeGood how very exciting.
My top camping tips are:

  • stop drinking 3 hours before you go to bed. Maybe earlier. DH will not have a bucket in the tent for nighttime toilet visits
  • sleeping tablet, maybe two
  • eye mask
  • bring a pillow

Still I was so desperate for novelty last time round I suggested to DH we camp in the garden, until he reminded me that I hate camping.

WouldBeGood · 14/04/2021 22:26

I’ve only really camped at festivals. I find maintaining a level of slight drunkenness throughout helps, and also dehydrates me for the night 😃

Pillow is a good idea, until I take to the moor with only what I can carry.

But I’ll start civilised. Can I justify a bio lite stove though..?!

Icannever · 14/04/2021 22:40

I recommend the best air bed or self inflating mattress you can get and pillows and duvets and blankets. I don’t like to camp light 😀. Well actually I just don’t like to camp at all but the kids seems to love it especially if we go with friends

WouldBeGood · 14/04/2021 22:52

I have a double sleeping bag as I get cold at night so he can heat me up (not in a smutty way) or I can get in a single one inside it.

Haudyourwheesht · 14/04/2021 23:33

Comfy camping chairs are an absolute must. Once youve wrestled your tent up and finally get to relax with your bevvy of choice, you do not want to be sitting on the floor.

Lockdownbear · 15/04/2021 00:04

Definitely a SIM rather than an airbed.
September weekend we camped for First time in years DH and I froze on airbeds while DS1 lay snug as a bug with his sleeping bag open on a SIM. DS2 ended up on his Dads airbed as his SIM was ancient and flat (it's now in the bin)
We will all be on SIMs the next time.
