Sorry, as you were, Briarlands isn't open until the 26th but is taking bookings

Haudyourwheesht · 13/04/2021 19:34

We've booked to go somewhere out of area on Friday. I was feeling all daring and now she's gone and made it legal. Grin

shouldistop · 13/04/2021 19:36

Briarlands is so good. We usually go a couple of times over the summer. Waiting for fruit picking season to go.

flippertygibbit · 13/04/2021 19:38

@dementedma

With all this opening up going on, I want to know WHEN THE FUCK office workers can return to their Covid compliant workplaces and stop having to work from our bedrooms and kitchens??????

This week I have been up close and personal with a physio and a hairdresser, been to supermarket and other shops, been to garden centre. But I STILL can’t sit in my office!!!!!

Officially it's looking like the end of June. I am however back in the office as I can no longer work from home as my mental health simply can't handle it. I am 2m apart from my colleague, we have plastic sneeze guards in place, only one person in the toilet at a time, cleaning materials in the toilets to use before and after, sanitisers everywhere, face coverings everywhere except at my desk. I'm closer to people in the supermarket.
WouldBeGood · 13/04/2021 19:48

I think lots of people are back in offices, at least some of the time. Especially small businesses

Briarlands is great. It's changed a lot over the years, when we first started going, DC were pre school (so about 17 years ago!) and it had a big climbing thing built from hay bales and the occasional wooden sheet. It was amazing, tunnels and climbing up and over and round. I think health and safety kicked in at some point. They also had a proper maize maze a few times which was fab.

dementedma · 13/04/2021 20:42

I am allowed in the office two days a week because of the impact on my mental and physical health WFH. I am the exception in our workforce. I sit in an empty 3 storey building in a huge office where all desks are more than 2m apart. I see and hear no other humans all day. On my WFH days I work from my flat with 4 other adults; I work from my bed, or a coffee table, or the kitchen. I dont think people realise there are still many of us out here who havent gone back to work since March 2021.

UnderHisAye · 13/04/2021 20:50

I went away for one day and there's a new thread

goldengoldfish · 13/04/2021 21:05

www.lockdownloo.com/

This site saved our dignity at the weekend, found a surprising number of available loos near to where we were!

WouldBeGood · 13/04/2021 21:09

Ah, @goldengoldfish that’s the one I was talking about! Thanks

Place marking too.

Things are looking up though!

Icannever · 13/04/2021 21:35

Anstruther has public toilets that are open if anyone’s interested in a trip to the east neuk of Fife 😊. Tenstmuir forest (beach between Dundee and st.Andrews) also has open toilets and a crepe shack. Toilets are free but parking is £2 (in change). Cambo has very nice toilets and a nice walk round the woods and a cafe and garden centre (it’s near crail)
That’s my toilet info exhausted 😀

WouldBeGood · 13/04/2021 21:51

*resists temptation to make crepe shack/toilet joke

😂😂

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 13/04/2021 22:27

Thanks a bunch, goldfish and everyone else sharing loo locations.
Relieved....

UnderHisAye · 13/04/2021 22:41

The crepe shack has reopened as Salt and Pine and seems much more upmarket now, queues are always massive!

tiredoftiers · 14/04/2021 08:20

Missed it all yesterday. As was out for the day with my oldest, scraping the bottom of a very shallow barrel of things to do which are allowed within the current guidance.
I’m cross, why wait till friday and the last day of school holiday to decide you can travel. It just feels manipulative, and political.
I’m back in work tomorrow for the next three days, so no chance to enjoy the easing with my kids.

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 14/04/2021 08:30

I agree, tiredoftiers, it's a shame freedom arrives on the last day of the school holidays.

UnderHisAye · 14/04/2021 08:38

Our holidays ended last Friday, I felt really sorry for the kids. Yet again a holiday that involved gardening and walks...

forfucksakenett · 14/04/2021 08:45

Horrible. It really is. I've really missed wee days out with the kids.
UnderHisAye · 14/04/2021 09:12

Me too. We managed one on Friday, nowhere particularly exciting, but they were thrilled. It's kinda sad.

Hopefully that's the last holiday which will ever be like this.

RaspberryCoulis · 14/04/2021 09:31

Level Zero is "normal".

According to the Scot Gov then, "normal" is :

  • no more than 8 adults from 4 households in your house
  • no entering any other area which is tier 3/4
  • no car sharing
  • face coverings on public transport
  • blended learning for college/universities
  • no nightclubs
  • 2000 people max at an outdoor sporting event, 400 indoors

So really not normal at all then?

WouldBeGood · 14/04/2021 09:54

Far from it @RaspberryCoulis.

I also want to go on days out without a litany of Rules and Covid safety. Or masks, or prebooking.

OP posts:
LizzieMacQueen · 14/04/2021 09:59

So does that mean family gatherings where majority of us have kids over 12, that is ruled out in 0 Covid ?

That's rubbish.

Would technically mean I could not see more than one sibling with their family at any one time. But I could if it was an organised indoor activity?

mibbelucieachwell · 14/04/2021 10:17

DS had exciting news yesterday - he successfully auditioned for an international music training/education thing. (He's due to graduate n July). He's one of five musicians chosen for it from across Europe and America. It's free. One of the tutors is his idol. It's meant to take place over five weeks dotted throughout May to January in Germany........

I can't see the week in May going ahead. I was thinking given the difficulty of international travel and 3 of the weeks due to run in July, September and October it might make sense to stay there from July to October, but I don't think the postBrexit rules allow for more than 90 days. So this is a covid/government/bloodyBrexit rail.
