Dd and I have fallen out...

The rule of meeting 6 outdoors... apparently I am ridiculous and unreasonable to say I do not want a load of her mates in the garden on Friday night. Dh doesn't have the drain out. He only got his first vaccine last week. I do not wish a bunch of 20 year olds in the garden. Plus my Aldi order is due at the end of the week and I will choose who will be invited to use it.

Dh says he backs me. But he did point out that she thinks nothing of getting drunk and leaving a mess and then I am unreasonable to ask her to clean it up with a hangover.

RaspberryCoulis · 13/04/2021 16:38

My sister, who is 2 years and 4 months younger than me has logged onto the website and booked vaccines for both her and her husband on thursday.

Fuck knows when we'll get called for ours in Scotland.

runningpink · 13/04/2021 16:38

@shouldistop you probably know already but if it’s dry sand on the kids skin then cover them in talcum powder and you will be able to brush the sand off easily.

@dementedma

With all this opening up going on, I want to know WHEN THE FUCK office workers can return to their Covid compliant workplaces and stop having to work from our bedrooms and kitchens??????

This week I have been up close and personal with a physio and a hairdresser, been to supermarket and other shops, been to garden centre. But I STILL can’t sit in my office!!!!!

Agreed. I'm ok - lockdown one was so bad I sold my house and bought a bigger one so I now have a craft room office. But if I was still in our old place I'd be going absolutely batshit crazy by now. They don't need to force everyone back and could easily mandate distancing that would limit capacity but some people have been working in crappy situations for way too long.
frasersmummy · 13/04/2021 16:47

So Ive just looked at the levels. While we are in tier 3 the pubs and restaurants will need to shut by 8pm but the polling stations in the same towns will be open till 10pm.. That says it all really

Oh and I notice even in tier 0 she doesnt want us going back to work in offices.. I'm really depressed about that.. I long for the banter of the office . I work In IT and its just so much easier when I can pop along and fix something

I know I should be pleased we are moving in the right direction but normality just doesnt seem to be on the SG's radar.. or maybe thats just my take

Groovee · 13/04/2021 16:51

Edinburgh Zoo has announced out of Edinburgh visitors from Friday.

runningpink · 13/04/2021 16:53

@frasersmummy can you screenshot the levels and pop them on here please? I always have trouble navigating the website!

shouldistop · 13/04/2021 16:53

Had a look on scotgov website. It doesn't even tell you what you can do in levels 2.1&0 now. Says it will be announced in due course

frasersmummy · 13/04/2021 17:16

My boss was actively encouraging us to register as an unpaid carer to get the vaccine quicker. As much as I’d like it sooner rather than later, I’ll just wait my turn.

runningpink · 13/04/2021 17:37

Thanks @frasersmummy

latissimusdorsi · 13/04/2021 17:49

@emmathedilemma

Edinburgh's open public toilets are on the council website: www.edinburgh.gov.uk/leisure-sport-culture/public-toilets/1 Botanic gardens and the zoo are open but for pre-booking only. Lauriston castle toilets were closed last time I was there. Other than the supermarkets I'm not aware of any others.

Prebook the toilets at botanics and Zoo?????

It doesn't surprise me there are people like this but it's still shocking behaviour!
Lockdownbear · 13/04/2021 18:51

When will places like Stirling Castle open?

We have Friday off I want to GO somewhere.

Oh.thanks for the new thread.

Lockdownbear · 13/04/2021 18:54

The carer thing is bonkers esp when it doesn't define what is a carer nor ask who people are caring for.

People could stretch it to caring for children and goldfish?

forfucksakenett · 13/04/2021 18:59

@Lockdownbear it does define it. It's pretty clear under which circumstances you can apply and it gives lots of examples although I know people are abusing it.

forfucksakenett · 13/04/2021 18:59

Oh I'd love to go to a castle or something. Starting to get excited about normality returning!

Not til the end of April I'm afraid!

Currently it's only outdoor national trust gardens/walks, zoos/wildlife parks etc which are open.

No idea when the castle itself opens, but there a walk you can do round about the castle and the old cemetery up at the church there is really interesting too.

www.instirling.com/walks/stirling_castle_walk.html

I've not been into town for a long time, but there will surely be somewhere open to get an ice-cream or something. If all else fails you could park in Sainsburys and start the walk from there (there is a path that leads up the hill if you go from the stairs at the side of store and cross the road) and then get something in Sainsburys when you finish.

ResilienceWanker · 13/04/2021 19:08

Some Historic Scotland sites are reopening from the 30th April. Including Edinburgh and Stirling castles, for all your castle needs. You need to book, but I'm not sure they're going as far as prebooking the toilets Shock. That is new and unprecedented trip-planning requirements... Not sure I'm anywhere near that level of Organised Mum.

ResilienceWanker · 13/04/2021 19:10

Ooooh. Love that idea redacted. May hit Stirling with the family once I've exhausted IKEA at the weekend...

RedactedTaeFeck · 13/04/2021 19:12

Also a drive through McDs at Sainsburys - i've never used a drive through but presume you could just get ice-cream?

RedactedTaeFeck · 13/04/2021 19:27

Briarlands farm (next to the safari park) is also open I think if anyone has young DC.
