That sounds better. Is it likely to happen soon? Or is this what’s scheduled for 17th?

Seems a long time til then!

Oh no! Just read your post @Lockdownbear

I thought it was only Moray that was not going to be in Tier 2 due to a spike in cases. Will be gutted if I am wrong

Lockdownbear · 01/05/2021 10:21

I hope I'm wrong but the wording was woolly, mostly or something, it was clear it wasn't everywhere. Maybe I'm too cynical.

Lidlfix · 01/05/2021 10:25

The stuff I am reading all refers to the country moving to tier/level (insert noun of preference ) on May 17th.

But that might be because that's what I want to see and read. Friends in hospitality are certainly gearing up for it with no indications that it might change.

titsintiers · 01/05/2021 11:30

That's what I'm reading too @Lidlfix but possibly for the same reasons as you

I think they will watch Moray carefully in the next 10 days. The rate per 100,000 for entirity of Scotland is tier 2 and Moray the actual number of cases isn't that high its just the population is lower so it pushes up the rate per 100,000! Its a great example of why judging levels on rate per 100,000 really doesn't work tbh! You only need 6 households in Moray for it to seem like a sky rocket!
user1487194234 · 01/05/2021 12:58

Yes I understand that
Wouldn’t put anything past the SG

RedactedTaeFeck · 01/05/2021 12:58

Yes, and most areas have had little pockets of issues that push the numbers up a fair bit if the population is low e.g. Clackmannan.

The numbers then drop pretty quickly again.

Most areas have been below the requirements for level 2 for ages.

It's time to just get back to normal.

I would selfishly love ds to be able to go back to a soft play while he's still able to do so (he's on the cusp age wise)

Whilst I don't trust the SG either I don't think they will keep the whole country in a higher level for 48 cases in a week.

We are hoping to get a booking in England for mid May at a softplay DS has missed it so much its just so unfair on the businesses here that the SG refuse to give them a solid date for reopening.

Can say from attending in England they are very well set up with a bookable session slot and cleaning in between sessions, table service only etc etc.

There's absolutely nothing selfish about that. I hope he gets to go soon.
RedactedTaeFeck · 01/05/2021 14:07

I hope he gets to go too. My DSs missed out by virtue of being too tall several years before they were too old, that felt bad enough but it's a shame that so many wee ones have missed out on a rainy day fitness routine!

You just need to find a friend with young kids. My friends DD was aging / heightens out so we stopped paying for her but sent her in to 'look after' my younger kidsWink

Save my looking it up anyone know the dates for pools and changing rooms?

Haudyourwheesht · 01/05/2021 22:18

I think I might literally lose my mind if she starts separating us out according to LA numbers. My Glasgow location has been breaking my heart for some time. Sad

I didn't see the original post about swimming, but we went for a family swim this morning, where we could change before and after and use lockers etc.

WouldBeGood · 02/05/2021 10:34

Morning all

I think Scotland is too small for area lockdowns. People will just travel.

Had a nice weekend with friends over last night, which was lovely.

The soft play thing really makes me sad. Even though it was the bane of my life when mine were young! But the thought if how much fun they had, and how yours are missing out is horrible.

I feel so sorry for teachers and secondary pupils alike!

Sadly though I think many people will stick their fingers in their ears and go lalalalalala to half of what the SNP govt has failed at because they only want to hear one thing and that's independence!

Lockdownbear · 02/05/2021 12:48

The day a retired primary head pointed out there was two ways to close the attainment gap, has stuck with me, a, raise the standards at the bottom or b, pull the top down. SNP have all been about closing the gap, never about raising the standards.

It must be about 7 years since I had that conversation and she was so right.

ScotlandUnited · 02/05/2021 13:00

When's the next review of lockdown measures?

Will we have face masks and social distancing beyond June?

Will Nic give us a smaller 'green' list of holiday destinations? (most likely announced on 7th of May...)

WouldBeGood · 02/05/2021 19:23

I hope we get holidays allowed! @ScotlandUnited.

And hope the masks get binned ASAP

OP posts:
riverrunning · 02/05/2021 20:27

Surely we have to have a green list too? Fingers crossed...green list to deflect attention from the oecd education report and swinney's post election resignation? Perhaps being out of Scotland in ruk this weekend is giving me a surge of optimism!

WouldBeGood · 02/05/2021 22:20

Maybe a tartan list?

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 02/05/2021 22:20

Though if Swinney goes I’ll have party 😃
