Grin Absolutely !
riverrunning · 28/04/2021 12:07

Surprised you managed to hold onto your breakfast listening to something that sick making!

RedactedTaeFeck · 28/04/2021 12:32

See, this is the stuff that annoys me when SNP supporters go on about not getting what you voted for and therefore needing independence. You do get what you vote for and it's this crap!

I'm taking a bit of a look into that Scottish Household survey thing. I'm trying to find out who pays for the £20 bribe to complete it. Now either it's Ipsos MORI who would only do that to sell the data or it's the scotgov who are paying citizens for data. There is an option to donate that to charity which is good, but I've decided I'm not comfortable with the whole thing. They've given a number to call to say you don't want to do it but I'm thinking popping it into recycling will do. I can pop a bit extra into charity without selling my data.
Maybe I'm just overly paranoid at the moment which is perfectly possible!

There is also no option to complete on-line, it has to be interview (phone or video).

Lockdownbear · 28/04/2021 13:02

WTF! Paying people to complete a survey, really?

Call me a cynic but how to get the survey results to say what you want it to say. The people who are most 'economically sensitive' (skint) are the people who are most likely to complete it.

RedactedTaeFeck · 28/04/2021 13:10

It seems to be something that has been done for many years and it says it's random but then also says it's house specific as they want to ensure that they have the proper mix. It's the first time i've ever been asked. I also got a free canvas bag in the envelope. But yes, if you were skint then it's a £20 voucher in exchange for possibly just an hour on a call.

There is also a bit saying that they want to also come round and "survey" the houses of some of the participants and although this will be mainly from outside, they would also need to see into each room. Good luck with that pal as I can't see more than a foot into our dumping ground spare room. Grin

I expect I'm making a mountain out of a molehill here, but I just find it a bit bizarre. I appreciate that it probably gathers really useful information to help with planning etc so I am probably being completely unreasonable in my reluctance.

WouldBeGood · 28/04/2021 18:04

That all sounds mighty weird @RedactedTaeFeck

I’ve decided to use the very thought of John Swinney to make me go ahead with my tactical vote.

Just having a rail that my lovely Dad has died and because of bloody Covid didn't get to see him beforehand and can't even go to his cremation because it's in a 'red' country. I could deal with all the other limitations but this has been so so hard.

Scottishskifun · 28/04/2021 22:52

@titsintiers I'm so sorry Flowers

titsintiers · 29/04/2021 06:31

Thanks everyone. I do have family here, so I've got real life support.

I've been thinking of all those people who died alone in hospital and I'm so grateful that that wasn't the case with Dad.

Lockdownbear · 29/04/2021 07:30

I'm sorry Tits, that's really hard. Will you be able to watch the funeral on internet?

It's a weird thing watching a funeral online. But it's better than nothing.

Thanks @WouldBeGood

I see we are mostly all on track for tier 2, wtf does that mean again?

Mistressinthetulips · 01/05/2021 09:16

I'm sure there's more than this but just saw the following:

A move to level two would allow limited numbers of people to socialise indoors, permit pubs to serve alcohol inside and see an easing of restrictions on theatres and cinemas.

Lockdownbear · 01/05/2021 09:36

I read it was only certain areas heading for teir 2.

I said months ago SG really needed to focus the vaccine on the areas with high covid rates, and who've had the longest restrictions.

You can guarantee that it won't be Glasgow or Lanarkshire who are heading to T2. Disgrace that people are being treated like the damage SD is doing doesn't matter.
