Also, recycling place takes on troubled kids and teaches them how to do bike repair, like an apprenticeship scheme.

Groovee · 22/04/2021 22:14

After a 3 day week at work, a meeting for early level, I was really looking forward to my bbq food cooked by Ds and lounging on the sofa. Imagine my horror that Mr G's drain had fallen out fully! 🤦🏻‍♀️ A trip to A&E! Drain is no more. He’s heading home. Thank goodness I'm off tomorrow.

WouldBeGood · 22/04/2021 22:32

Oh, lord, @Groovee. You must be exhausted. Hope MrG is ok and that you get some rest tonight and tomorrow

Groovee · 23/04/2021 09:49

He's mighty fine this morning. Me... could sleep for a week x

runningpink · 23/04/2021 10:11

You deserve to sleep for a week!

littlbrowndog · 23/04/2021 10:40

That scheme sounds great redacted

We would have nowhere to keep 3 bikes

Also the get nicked if you keep them in the close

Sleep for a week grovee 🙌🏽

BBQ tonight excited beyond excited

WouldBeGood · 23/04/2021 12:42

I thought the SNP was giving everyone free bikes? 😃

titsintiers · 23/04/2021 13:51

Are they not? I'd even started looking for a super gran outfit in preparation. Bugger.

Lockdownbear · 23/04/2021 15:38

I can't remember the exact wording SNP buff goes straight for recycling in this house but it was something about Free Bikes for kids who's parents couldn't afford them.
I had another where's that money coming from.

riverrunning · 23/04/2021 18:24

Are we allowed to escape to other parts of Scotland this weekend or is it still stay local til Monday? I've totally lost track.

Sympathies grovee hope the bbq is good!

user1487194234 · 23/04/2021 18:27

Yes we are ,maybe only for certain reasons but I think one is protecting your mental health which covers a lot

WouldBeGood · 23/04/2021 18:32

@riverrunning yes, fine to travel 😊

Lockdownbear · 23/04/2021 19:33

Your not supposed to say over night until Monday. But can go anywhere.

The R number is apparently down for the first time in 4 weeks. What's changed or is it the weather coaxing people outside?

riverrunning · 23/04/2021 19:56

Oooh highlands here we come!

WouldBeGood · 24/04/2021 09:58

Morning.. I’m railing against my neighbours. It’s a sunny day so as usual their children are screaming in their garden: it’s even more annoying as it’s precipitated, nay encouraged, by the dad chasing them round as they screech. What kind of weird parent is he?!

My plans to stay the fuck at home railing about the Roolz are thus thwarted. I’ll need to go out.l

DD and DP are coming for a bbq later so that should be nice.

I'm railing against our idiot builders. When we moved in the flooring had already been chosen and fitted, and I don't like it. Got guys in today fitting new laminate and when they've gone to lift the old stuff they've discovered it's not Amtico click like we thought, it's glue down amtico which has been attached to tiny pieces of ply (like the pieces of ply are the same size as the amtico strips) and the strips have been nailed down with dozens of nails/staples per piece.

Assholes.

We're fitting over the top. It's level and very secure, and the gaps under the doors are big so...

WaxOnFeckOff · 24/04/2021 10:08

I feel your pain. I live next to a childminder and that isn't the problem. She has kids there all day and they all just make normal children noise. A new family moved in that back on to her, and the dad is an utter dick who does the same and the preschool child just screams and shouts all the time, now they've got a trampoline...

WouldBeGood · 24/04/2021 10:14

@WaxOnFeckOff that’s ironic isn’t it?! Idiot dads must be more widespread than I thought.😂 Mine also have a trampoline (the horror when I saw it being delivered)

I like the sound of children playing normally. Nice summer sound. But the screeching!

@StatisticallyChallenged oh no! Hope your crisis averted. And that the new flooring looks good 😊

I think we might be the noisy neighbours, my toddler is going through a very screamy temper tantrum phase and is also astonishingly disobedient. She loves to be outside but she also likes to try and copy me looking after the plants which mainly involves one of us trying to stop her digging then chasing her around then carrying a screaming toddler inside Blush

WouldBeGood · 24/04/2021 10:19

No @StatisticallyChallenged, you’re ok! That’s normal.

This is chasing for “fun”! 🙄.

We were in the park last week and this dad kept jumping out at people yelling boo. He didn't like my hard stare and shuffled off up the park. Mr G was like are the kids scared of you at work?

RedactedTaeFeck · 24/04/2021 11:07

Yep, no-one cares about happy running about and laughing with the occasional scream or indeed tantrums (we've all been there!). It's the constant screeching and loud dad shouting etc that is the pain. I also quite like normal happy child noise. Next door has a lot of toddlers at the moment and the wee voices as they potter about playing is lovely. Older street DC out on scooters etc, also good. Basketball not so good.

WouldBeGood · 24/04/2021 11:19

@Groovee you need to patent that stare!
