Under 50's vaccines

Does anyone know what's happening up here for the age groups under 50 (who don't fall into the carers / underlying health conditions etc that have already been done)?
I read that NHS England weren't planning to start them before May due to supply issues and to enable them to keep up with second doses but I haven't seen anything relating to Scotland. The BBC website just has all age groups under 50 defined as "by the end of July". The omni queue calculator reckons first dose for age 40+ between 10th & 19th April but I suspect that's fake news.
Has anyone under 50 had an invite yet??
I'm getting impatient now!!

I don't want to jinx it but was watching the postman on my ring doorbell and it really looked like he had a blue envelope in his hand... (Lothian)

ParkheadParadise · 20/04/2021 11:33

@Haydaywithbellson
Fingers crossed

RaspberryCoulis · 20/04/2021 11:34

The only person I know in my 45-49 bracket who has had her fist jab lives very rurally in the Highlands so as with places like Fair Isle it was pretty much "we have 400 jabs, jet 400 people along however old they are". None of my other friends have even had an appointment.

On the other hand, my younger sister and her DH who live near London were able to log into the NHS website and pick an appointment at a time and place convenient for them. They had their jabs last week.

But yeah, isn't Nicola doing an amazing job. Hmm

@emmathedilemma @ParkheadParadise
Is this under 50s starting to get appointments now?

latissimusdorsi · 20/04/2021 11:46

Ooh this is good news! Although I'm LothianHmm

doubletrouble20 · 20/04/2021 11:47

I know some people under 50 who have had the vaccine but aren't vulnerable - they don't know why they've had it sooner than most! 🤷🏼‍♀️

emmathedilemma · 20/04/2021 11:51

My friend is in the 45-49 age group, I'm 40-44 so not holding my breath (but actively stalking the postman!).

POSTIE HAS JUST BEEN WITH TWO BLUE ENVELOPES FOR DH AND I.

30th April. Delighted.

ChrisQuean · 20/04/2021 12:40

@RaspberryCoulis hurrah! Which NHS board are you? I’m in the 45-49 group.

RaspberryCoulis · 20/04/2021 12:47

Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Flossy05 · 20/04/2021 12:49

Good news to hear that blue envelopes are popping through letter boxes. That’s encouraging.
All my friends/family in NI and England who are my age (46) and lots younger have had their vaccine or have appointments booked in so I am frustrated by this.
I feels like Scotland have decided to have a bit of a rest. With the schools all back now, it would seem that getting on with vaccinating teachers and parents should be a bit more of a priority in Scotland.

dementedpixie · 20/04/2021 12:51

My postie hasn't been yet. I shall await with bated breath

ChrisQuean · 20/04/2021 12:57

That’s some reported in the Glasgow area then. Great news! If anyone in Lothian 45-49 gets a wee blue envelope let us know! Grin.

hapagirl · 20/04/2021 13:15

I saw something blue poking out of my post box yesterday. I excitedly went to retrieve but it was an Alba party flyer.

dementedpixie · 20/04/2021 13:24

Nothing today: north lanarkshire

TeenTraumaTrials · 20/04/2021 13:35

We're NHS Lothian and DH (49 and quite a bit!) got his letter today - vaccination not until 7th May but at least it's a date - I'm 47 so hoping maybe for the end of the week after but definitely second half of May.

Really great to hear posters in 45+ group now being invited

Mistressinthetulips · 20/04/2021 13:41

Teentrauma try online and see if you can change it, I moved mine forward by several days by being willing to travel around the area.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 20/04/2021 14:15

49 and in Lothian. Got appointment letter today for jag on May 4
v grateful it doesn't clash with my hairdresser appointment, which is not till May 14, but almost as eagerly awaited

Icannever · 20/04/2021 14:28

Dh is 48, my brothers just turned 50, no invites yet
Fife

TheMShip · 20/04/2021 14:37

Icannever they're basing it on age as of end of March 2021 I believe, so your brother would be in the 45-49 group if his birthday was in April.

TeenTraumaTrials · 20/04/2021 14:41

@Mistressinthetulips

Thanks - I'll suggest he does this, although his appointment is not the nearest centre to us anyway.

BIL got his letter today too (Aberdeenshire, 49) and his is next Monday

Haydaywithbellson · 20/04/2021 20:10

I did get mine (Lothian) Smile and was able to change it online just now and have brought it over a week closer, in fact it's at the end of this week.

PufferFishGoneWrong · 20/04/2021 20:51

Nothing for my DH yet. 45-49 and in Angus.
