Just in case railing remains required.

Yeah they've totally lost it. This time last year people saw the need for staying at home and going nowhere. After a year, with so many people vaccinated, they don't see the need any more.

I see rule-breaking all around me and that's fine. I'm glad people are taking their own decisions. We broke the law twice yesterday - went into Stirlingshire for a walk through the forest (and saw not another soul outside our household) and then last night had dinner with friends, inside their house - they've both been vaccinated and we're past caring.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/04/2021 12:46

I am the same @RaspberryCoulis my family dotted all over west coast so cross the border all the time but they annoy me. They have made it illegal for me to open my business but they get to do it because it's work?

Pricks

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/04/2021 12:47

Not border 😂 council area.

Lockdownbear · 08/04/2021 12:49

NS is crossing council boundaries more than she's changing her knickers at this point.

I nearly spat out my toast

UnderHisAye · 08/04/2021 12:50

This is random but I'm so glad you called him Douglas Ross @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021

I keep seeing people on Twitter calling him Doug Ross and it fair ruins my memories of George Clooney in ER Grin

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/04/2021 12:55

@Lockdownbear I'm home alone with nothing to do and too much time on my hands 😂

No absolute @UnderHisAye Clooney and his days of ER cannot be tainted by the smiling Labrador!

Whilst I am on it fucking Blackford if it's not pictures of sheep he's banging on about how we need to vote Snp. Has he missed the fact they have been in power for 14 fucking years 🤦‍♀️

Should really go clean my house instead of pissing about on mumsnet and Twitter.

Bytheloch · 08/04/2021 12:55

I rail and then go away again, it’s literally the only way I can hang on to sanity these days. I unfortunately have to use social media as a tool for delivery in my profession and it’s very difficult to keep a clear head of an evening after a day in the murky depths of a Twitter.
I’m sorry so many of us are feeling it now. Hope these threads can be of some support, staying on a busy, guilt-free chat such as this is better than a quiet thread where folk can give you a good ‘telt’ for feeling a certain way. Love how we cover everything from irn bru variations through to religious cookers🤣

And @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021
I feel all that too. I’m sorry that people are not seeing friends and families to abide by rules set by the same set of arses (I have no kinder words for them all at the moment) who are breaking them for political PR stunts.

riverrunning · 08/04/2021 12:59

Bloody hell, I'm outraged lovely labradors have been slurred by association with Ross!

No politician is worth comparing to a faithful canine, that's too high a bar.

UnderHisAye · 08/04/2021 13:02

I want to call him a tit but that's not fair to tits either. Maybe he's beyond or beneath comparison.

latissimusdorsi · 08/04/2021 13:06

Ah but some work is more equal than others.........
IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/04/2021 13:07

My apologies @riverrunning I did not intend to taint the lovely breed of dog.

Smiling Scrotum? Would that work?

runningpink · 08/04/2021 13:08

@Scottishskifun are you recovering ok from covid?

My random question of the day is...

Bra recycling. Anyone know a good way or place to drop a bag full off?
Some in good condition and others a bit less so!

riverrunning · 08/04/2021 13:19

That's much better re scrotums not Labradors!

riverrunning · 08/04/2021 13:21

Scottishskifun · 08/04/2021 15:46

@runningpink yes and no all the terrifying symptoms have gone but still pretty tired (having 2 naps a day) and still got a horrible headache with burning eye sensation. My head feels like lead has been put into the back of it.

Now past 2 weeks so hoping that it starts easing soon I'm still off work.

Haudyourwheesht · 08/04/2021 15:50

Argh 666 posts!

frasersmummy · 08/04/2021 16:24

I Know I bang on about it all the time .. so fell free to ignore my ranting but they positivity rate is soo low, the death rate is soo low and hospitals are emptying .. it really feels like this is over (for the moment) and we should be making the most of it . open the shops and the restaurants, let people mix inside. We didnt make the most of the very low numbers last summer .. we need to this summer

In my humble opinion a lot of the restrictions should be lifted right now ..

WouldBeGood · 08/04/2021 16:25

I’ll rant with you @frasersmummy. This is now ridiculous

OP posts:
latissimusdorsi · 08/04/2021 16:31

I've just heard prof Tim Spector (ZOE app) on tv saying UK levels are where they were last July

WouldBeGood · 08/04/2021 16:33

So the levels like July, but with a vaccine? Time to open up

OP posts:
rookiemere · 08/04/2021 16:36

I agree @frasersmummy and it's my huge issue with the SG. Great at being oh so cautious and shutting us all down, absolutely rubbish at taking any leaps of faith and opening anything up again.

I did feel down on Tuesday - over a whole year of this and second birthday in lockdown- and the lack of any pushback or proper opposition to the speed or otherwise of the plan is so depressing.

I find it hard to read when anyone in England complains about things going slowly. April 26th should unlock a lot of thins, but if they choose to use the terrible tiers then it probably won't for me in Edinburgh.

The most important thing for me now is to get out of my city boundary- I've had enough I feel like I'm under house arrest for no good reason. It's all very well saying just go, but I have seen police vans at the locations I've been to and I've heard on good authority that they are prominent in East Lothian.

If we aren't allowed freedom to travel on 26th April, I'm not sure what I'll do but I'll definitely not be happy.

mibbelucieachwell · 08/04/2021 16:41

I'm so sorry to read that so many posters are having horrible health problems, including covid.

isurviveoncoffeeandwine. Your cooker will be great for chicken soup Grin

I am trying to buy curtain rings and poles at somewhere that's properly open. B and Q's curtain rings have horribly fiddly plasticy attachment thingies. Bring on the reopening of shops.

I really feel for parents trying to get shoes for children.

Groovee · 08/04/2021 16:45

M&S are doing a family dine in for £15. I actually went for Colin the caterpillar cake jars but left with this and Percy pig cakes reduced to £1 from £5. Random post of the day!

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/04/2021 16:47

This was my issue lasts year as well. It's the what's a few more weeks when you have done this long type attitude. Those weeks fucking matter! It could be the difference between a business staying afloat or shutting down.

What's happening over in Northern Ireland is scaring the shit out of me.

Scottishskifun · 08/04/2021 16:52

Yep I have a second lock down birthday coming up wooopeeee can't even be arsed to find a nice meal to heat at home for it!

I agree they should allow travel again it would actually stop places being so crowded as people would go further afield rather then mob to the closest beach or park!

Bizarrely having covid has lifted a huge weight off my mind as I can stop worrying about my son he had zero symptoms and is fine. Even if I get long covid knowing my son has antibody protection for a while is a huge relief!
