Is it illegal? Setting the mandate for an Indyref is ultra vires the Scottish Parliament so in that sense it is illegal. Interesting that it is Mike Russell doing all the Press on this since he is stepping down as an MSP and therefore will have No say in what he is proposing.

Worth a watch. I've only managed to watch the one on Iceland so far but will try to watch the others tonight.

@WaxOnFeckOff distraction from?

UnderHisAye · 22/03/2021 17:02

Yeah, if the faithful are enticed to vote for something they actually want then hell mend them, as my Gran would have said Grin

StarryEyeSurprise · 22/03/2021 17:10

I don't think anyone needs distracting from anything - I was speaking to my auntie who is part of the Stirling branch. They've had 65 new members in the past week (higher than normal).
Oh, I just saw NS has been cleared of breaking the ministerial code.

His 61-page report concluded: “I am of the opinion that the First Minister did not breach the provisions of the ministerial code in respect of any of these matters.”

That was the sound of many heads of people on this thread simultaneously exploding.

Well, that's a bit of good news!

Yes! Smile
mibbelucieachwell · 22/03/2021 17:58

I don't see how James Hamilton could have demonstrated any particular intent on the part of NS. That's a very high bar.

But this whole sorry saga reflects badly on AS, NS and the Scottish government in my opinion.

Only about half the usual number of tests with reported results today. It'll be interesting to see the figures tomorrow.

Scottishskifun · 22/03/2021 18:42

Mondays results always tend to be low as Sunday testing and some of the community test centres aren't open.

GreenlandTheMovie · 22/03/2021 18:55

I'm actually just wanting to leave Scotland now. It seems we are stuck with a corrupt government who get away with anything, that people will keep voting back in for the foreseeable future. And as a woman, unless I become a transman, I'm unprotected by the new draconian hate crime legislation. I was already feeling like almost every aspect of my life was controlled, legislated over or licensed. It feels like madness, and I just don't want to be part of it.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 22/03/2021 19:50

I'm trying to convince the rest of my family!

snowcoveredcampsies · 22/03/2021 19:56

Where do you fancy @GreenlandTheMovie ?

I'm on Rightmove already.

Dunno. I don't think England would be much better. Possibly abroad.

I'm serious though. This sort of corruption is really depressing me and I think you make a decision either to put up with it or move away from it. If its possible to move away, then perhaps its a good idea to do so, because otherwise you're almost part of it (and I think theres very little that I, as an individual, can do about it).

snowcoveredcampsies · 22/03/2021 20:09

@GreenlandTheMovie I'm a bit confused that you think there's less corruption in the UK Government to be honest but good luck to you anyway.

@WaxOnFeckOff good luck to you too. I've often thought by the tone of your posts you'd be much happier not to be in Scotland.

Enjoy ladies. You can start the EngScotsnet.

@GreenlandTheMovie I read that that you thought England would be much better. Apologies.

I think you'll struggle to find a corrupt free government but the French generally take no shit which is good. Excellent rights for their citizens and what not. Good weather.

snowcoveredcampsies · 22/03/2021 20:14

@WaxOnFeckOff that's not at all what I said. You might not even be Scottish. How would I know? I said from the tone of your posts you don't seem that happy in Scotland.

And that's not my username - you seem to be confused. Doxxing and trying to out user's possible previous usernames is against MN guidelines.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 22/03/2021 20:15

Well bless your sweet heart Snowcoveredcampsies.
