This is the heart of the problem. The SNP seem to have forgotten there is a difference between a Political Party and the Scottish Government.

This time it should be the same as the brexit one. They are perfectly happy to go along with the result of that as far as Scotland is concerned , or do they think people are stupid/didn't understand? It's the Scottish Government that has published the bill, not the SNP as a party.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. It's clearly designed as a distraction and put out a couple of days before purdah. I personally couldn't care less, it's so transparent and if the faithful fall for it then that's their look out.

It's not like they haven't had 5 years to put it out. Nothing has materially changed for today being the most appropriate time to issue it.
