Not so much railing as despairing today. DP has put his planned retirement towards the end of the year on hold. No point retiring to be eternally locked up or everything pre booking and masks and constant doom. Feeling like what was supposed to be a good time in our lives after all the shit is just going to be more shit.

And icing on the cake, the bloody SG announcing a second referendum bill... ffs, as if they don’t have enough to fuck up/concentrate on just now.

Is there no free transport? I've seen signs around Dundee for a free shuttle bus to the vaccination centre/s (I don't actually know where they're happening apart from the city centre).

I guess the reason less vaccinated in Glasgow is two fold: one lower life expectancy and generally more younger folk live within the city and then move out.
There were buses running to the Louisa Jordan. There are also other vaccination hubs dotted about glasgow.

That's the issue, we aren't all vaccinated. End of July before all adults have first dose. The vaccine is a race against the clock.

Weren't we at the front of this wave? Our numbers were rocketing weeks ago with the Kent variant and now that's the variant becoming dominant in Europe.

Calling people selfish for railing isn’t in the spirit of these threads.

Fair enough, rail for more lockdown. But don’t call people selfish for disagreeing.

How are people being selfish? It's not like we have any say on whether the third wave is real or just political posturing because Johnson wants to extend his emergency covid powers.

I said yesterday/day before that I'm done with being called selfish so please, anyone who feels tempted to do so, don't bother. It's a bit sick making human beings feel responsible for the existence of viruses and their transmission. A nice quick, dirty trick to get the population to comply, for sure, but the long-term mental health and social effects are going to be unpleasant.

Tbh I often think how selfish people are who would happily work from home forever keeping "safe" in their nice warm. large houses with gardens, outsourcing all their risk to zero hours contractors who bring them groceries and Amazon deliveries.

More railing here. After a very lovely, drunken, sociable night on Saturday, friend texted me on Sunday morning partly to complain about her hangover, partly to say they'd had such a good time how about we go round to theirs next weekend. Fabulous.

Then yesterday afternoon DH and I went geocaching in Glasgow, illegally crossing the local authority boundary to do so.

While we were out, DS had a friend over to play some geeky board game. The other two kids were out with friends - no idea how many were in each group of kids larking around and buying ice cream and I don't care.

This morning I did my shopping in Aldi (allowed) then illegally went into Waitrose to buy some nice biscuits.

Done with it completely. Up the railers!
