The tone stays low and the railing goes on

We have dozens of workmen digging up our street atm. Struggling to see how them socialising while watching the match is different from them working together to keep safe around all the drill bits and electric cabling all week.

Probably a great deal lower risk than thousands per day higher risk individuals funnelling through the vaccine centres.

Logic left the discussion some time ago.

snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 15:07

It's pathetic the way that football fans have been treated. They just do what they like. They've painted the pope's wall in bellahouston. Park red white and blue and will no doubt socialise all through the day and night while the rest of try to follow the rules.

It's selfish and arrogant.

I understand people gathering for important reasons but not this utter bullshit.

snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 15:08

@SempreSuiGeneris I can only assume you've never seen football fans socialising together. It's nothing like people making their way through socially distanced vaccinations centres.

fandabbydoozy · 21/03/2021 15:12

Female friend has 10 people in her house watching the game. Has posted a picture onto FB. Was also at Ibrox the other week for celebrations too. Really irresponsible.

WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 15:17

I really enjoy a mass celebration of football or rugby or a gig, and I can see why it’s happening. Human nature.

I don’t know if that was snarky @mibbelucieachwell but hey ho

OP posts:
snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 15:29

@WouldBeGood most people enjoy that stuff. Most people also know that it's selfish to do it in the middle of a pandemic.

SempreSuiGeneris · 21/03/2021 15:30

snowcoveredcampsies you would be wrong on all counts.

snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 15:32

@SempreSuiGeneris well the football celebrations you have witnessed must be a lot more civilised than any I've ever seen.

WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 15:42

I selfishly devote my entire life to my own personal pleasure, without a thought for others, in a bacchanalian frenzy of pleasure seeking.

Wouldbegood Absolutely not meant to be snarky. Honestly I sometimes rail at my propensity to get angry at covid rules. I know they're inconsistent, shouldn't sweat the small stuff etc. Being angry isn't healthy is what I meant.

mibbelucieachwell · 21/03/2021 15:50

Grin at your bachanalian frenzy of pleasure seeking

WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 15:59

Thanks @mibbelucieachwell 😃

My DC grew up on weekly trips to the City on the bus either accompanied by the Bingo crowd or the football support and sometimes both if the timing was really awry. Not much to choose between them.

Starting to feel like my normal was in fact an alternate reality the way it's discussed these days.

WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 17:42

@SempreSuiGeneris I know what you mean.

I feel it’s a alternate universe where wanting to see people and do things, get my haircut or go to a cafe, a gallery or in holiday is viewed as outrageous.

It's quite scary really when you think about all of the things we used to do that we can't now and no clear idea of when we might be able to do them...I try not to think about it too often but I am today and it's not a great feeling Confused

Meh. We're selfish and tantrumming for wanting normal and wanting to go round infecting people. We should be grateful the caring, loving SG is keeping us safe by stopping our self destructive behaviour. Hmm
WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 18:02

@ResilienceWanker I am indeed planning one 😂

And what leapt out to me was - surely we are at the end of a pandemic and not in the middle! God I hope this isn't the middle...

anon444877 · 21/03/2021 19:17

would it's clearly the last days of Rome here with you expecting a sunny vacation, how dare you? Grin

WouldBeGood · 21/03/2021 20:41

😃 @anon444877 it’s all roast dormouse, wine, and concubines round mine

Just had a quick look and approx half of edc have been vaccinated but only a third of Glasgow city. Presumably younger population in Glasgow.
I really think now they know vaccination reduces transmission they should speed up roll out in high infection areas.

WouldBeGood · 22/03/2021 11:32

I agree @shouldistop, as the vulnerable to severe illness have been done now.

I wonder how easy it is to get to the Louisa Jordan by public transport? Unless they've put on bus services or opened up the tunnel from the station, I wouldn't have thought that easy. That could cause a problem for non drivers in Glasgow.
