The tone stays low and the railing goes on

When you see the hidden threads, there are three dots to the right where you get the option to unhide. Just hid one to try it.

Hi LoniceraJaponica,

This is very easy to fix so don't worry at all!

First, go to the main Talk page and click on Customise.

Then, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, there is a blue box which says 'Ignore topics in Active Conversations'.

In this box will be a small link which takes you to a page that will show you all your active conversations, but also anything that you've excluded, and this will allow you to include that thread again.

We hope that clarifies things for you but please do ping us a line if you have any further problems.

UnderHisAye · 17/03/2021 12:05

Oh amazing, thank you guys!

WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 16:00

I had to travel to Stirling for essential reasons today.

I can confirm that the roads were chock a block for anyone worrying about travelling. And Waitrose was very civilised when I called in to cheer myself up on my way home 😃

I'm going to encourage my remaining DSs to register online for category six vaccines, nothing to lose. DS1 in particular has to travel by public transport so I'd feel safer if he was jabbed. Not to mention the complaining ill have to put up with about his younger brother having the jab already!

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 17/03/2021 16:27

jabba friend in Fife, unpaid carer, went onto the portal today and is getting her jag next Tuesday.

jabbathebutt · 17/03/2021 17:24

I'm not an unpaid carer, I'm disabled.

DH doesn't get carer's allowance for me (cause I work I think), although he's getting his jag before me for reasons unknown.

I filled out the online form and it takes 5 days for them to get back to you about whether you can get your jag.

By unpaid carer, do they mean people who get carers allowance as surely anyone could claim to be an unpaid carer?

cyclingbear · 17/03/2021 17:26

@jabbathebutt it’s anyone I think as my mum cares for my gran but no carers allowance as far as I’m aware

I hope you hear soon

Ulysses · 17/03/2021 17:33

Thanks for the Unpaid Carers link. I feel a bit guilty for registering but do a 40 mile round trip to take shopping to my mums each week. Got this message back. I’m 46 so would be on the list next few weeks anyway. I doesn’t seem to be a very nuanced system though.

NHS Scotland Test and Protect: Thank you for submitting your details to receive the COVID-19 vaccination as an unpaid carer.

We have successfully matched your records and we will send you details of your first vaccination appointment soon. This can take up to 72 hours, so thank you for your patience. Please wait to be contacted.

For more information about the vaccination programme visit www.nhsinform.scot/covid19vaccine or call 0800 030 8013

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 17/03/2021 17:50

jabba I have no idea how they check. Maybe someone who's succeeded can explain? I don't think there's any central register of unpaid carers, but I'm no expert. Just trying to help you, you seem like a deserving person.

snowcoveredcampsies · 17/03/2021 17:51

No it's for caters who don't get carers allowance. Is your DH obese? Maybe that's why he's getting the vaccine so early?

snowcoveredcampsies · 17/03/2021 17:51

They don't and can't check. It's trust based.

WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 18:05

I just clicked the link and answered the questions honestly

OP posts:
jabbathebutt · 17/03/2021 18:13

oh I know you were trying to help!

no, DH is not obese. overweight but not obese.

Ulysses · 17/03/2021 18:17

There’s no proving questions about what caring responsibilities you have at all. Just the basic details for name/address/DOB to match to your NHS records.

UnderHisAye · 17/03/2021 18:22

I got the same text. Applied on Monday (my son has some anxiety-based symptoms and his biggest trigger is me not being around) so I'm hoping to hear about my appointment by tomorrow, which would be 72 hours.

I actually do feel a bit of a fraud but when I thought about what would be best for him, I think getting myself protected is the right thing to do.

It's funny though, I hadn't considered myself to be any kind of carer until I read a bit more about it on Monday.

anon444877 · 17/03/2021 18:51

Sounds well qualified to me underhisaye Thanks

Greetings from the Stirling Council Covid Zone ™️ - we’re glad you enjoyed your trip across into our area and hope you weren’t too rattled by the loud siren that activates when someone arrives from another council area. Yes, it’s chocca block on the roads here, I’d say almost as busy at school run time as it ever was, I have no idea where everyone is going if we’re all staying within the Stirling Council Covid Zone ™️Wink.
ssd · 17/03/2021 19:13

@WouldBeGood

So..turns out I’d already been allocated an appointment for 27th March. Wouldn’t have known without the info so cheers *@littlbrowndog*
I registered using that link as I care for someone, but it says I've already been given an appointment like you @WouldBeGood...but I can't figure out how to see when my appointment is? I have a username to check, but the link on the text takes me to an NHS page to rearrange appointments and I don't want to do that...how did you find out when your allocated appointment is?
WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 19:16

Yes, @ssd I’m glad you couldn’t do it either, it’s impossible on the link!! I rang the helpline

OP posts:
ssd · 17/03/2021 19:17

Tbh I'm really anxious about all this...I'm scared to click on the NHS page as above as its just to rearrange my appointment, which I definitely don't want to do...I'm scared to click it incase it cancels the appointment I have...but don't know about yet..

ssd · 17/03/2021 19:18

@WouldBeGood the 0800 number?

WouldBeGood · 17/03/2021 19:19

Thanks @Bytheloch! I promise I did not lick anyone with my filthy Lanarkshire germs.

I was up on an urgent trip to do with a death. In case anyone thinks I’m at it!

OP posts:
ssd · 17/03/2021 19:19

Was the helpline automated? I'm scared it cancels my appointment, I'm working in a supermarket and totally paranoid

rookiemere · 17/03/2021 19:20

@WouldBeGood can I ask what age you are please?
Technically reading the description I think I could qualify for the unpaid carers thing, but as I'm over 50 I'm hoping there's an appointment with my name on it already. Worried about vaccine shortages over next 4 week period.
