Immense. But then tablet is my favourite thing. After wine of course

ssd · 13/03/2021 19:28

That tablet looks amazing. Theres the usual discussion 9n what to have for dinner tonight but I just dont care. Dh keeps wandering in and looking at me. I think I'll have beans on toast. I wish I was having that tablet .

shouldistop · 13/03/2021 19:33

We had Chinese food. Ds1 is in bed and I'm just putting ds2 down now. Can't decide whether to have a bath or watch tv.... decisions decisions

Groovee · 13/03/2021 19:35

I had a sainsbury pizza and Mac cheese as shared with Mr G and salad too.

runningpink · 13/03/2021 19:43

Oooh would you share the recipe @Groovee?
I love tablet and that could be my project tomorrow!

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/03/2021 20:14

Is there anything nicer than decent tablet?

We had a breakfast dinner. Hash browns, sausage, bacon, egg, blackpudding, beans, mushrooms and tomato.

Don't do that often but it was lush.

Sounds good. Smile We have some leftovers which the menfolk can have for lunch tomorrow.

That tablet looks amazing! That is one Scottish culinary dish I can get 100% behind. We had a takeaway curry (an end of home school celebration) and now I feel far too full. I never learn. The cheese naan may have been a step too far.

rookiemere · 13/03/2021 21:33

We had Indian takeaway as well. I've now sort of learnt my lesson, so have a chicken tikka starter and a vegetable side so I'm not too full.

We had an illicit trip ti Musselburgh today - totally did not realise we were outside Edinburgh city boundaries until I realised the public toilets had East Lothian written on them - actually the clue should have been that they were far cleaner than any Edinburgh public loos. Thankfully no fines or public lynching.

ResilienceWanker · 13/03/2021 21:56

Ha! Yes, East Lothian loos are definitely a cut above. We were house hunting out there about 10 years ago when I was pregnant, and I suddenly needed the loo. The only option was prestonpans public bogs, and DH almost refused to let me in there, assuming he'd need to come and rescue me. But they were absolutely stunning! Fresh flowers and spotlessly clean, and little paintings by local artists (nice ones in frames, not graffiti). I think DH thought I'd gone a little bit bonkers when I came out gushing about them... Not nice enough to actually buy a house in prestonpans though.

rookiemere · 13/03/2021 22:23

Excellent. So when our boundaries are expanded I can include a trip to Prestonpans, don't think I've ever been there.

I have to say although Edinburgh city council boundaries include some lovely areas - although not Musselburgh as I now know, juries out on who Portobello belongs to - I do feel I've exhausted its many treasures and an expansion to include other Lothian areas would be welcomed.

Or failing that they could just let us travel where we want .

shouldistop · 14/03/2021 07:45

What do you all think NS is going to say on Tuesday? She said she was going to set out some dates for things didn't she?
"In 10 weeks time you can possibly meet an extra 2 people outside but still can't hug your mum." ?

rookiemere · 14/03/2021 07:51

@shouldistop bet she says nothing about when we can go across to England.

runningpink · 14/03/2021 07:57

Not expecting anything particularly positive. More doom and gloom. With nothing concrete.

Maybe a date for when we can click and collect non essentials as a reward for good behaviour!

Really can’t see her letting us loose outside council areas for a long while yet never mind crossing over to England.

shouldistop · 14/03/2021 07:59

shouldistop bet she says nothing about when we can go across to England.

Oh well, we're going anyway in June - no one is policing it.
I'm excited about our holiday now.

rookiemere · 14/03/2021 08:13

I suspect they might allow garden centres to open before Easter, and yes possibly increase outside numbers to 6 from 2 families- so no real difference. An indicative date of when self catering accommodation will open should be on the cards.

anon444877 · 14/03/2021 08:14

My dh seems to think we'll be allowed to travel to England from 26 April on - can hardly stop it based on vaccine numbers...but she's not mentioned travel to rUK at all in any of her briefings and amazingly none of the useless journalists have asked this question so can't expect there will be any clarity...

rookiemere · 14/03/2021 08:22

@anon444877 it depends on if/how they bring in the Tier system though. If certain areas are in old style Tier 3 then still won't be allowed to leave local area.
It would be good though if we're officially allowed to go to England. I have 3 nights booked in Crail at end of May and I'd rather go across the border and see relatives.

RaspberryCoulis · 14/03/2021 09:15

Whatever she says, it'll be tiny, teeny tweaks. Along the lines of "you know how I said that restaurants would reopen 30th April, well the numbers are SO good, we're bringing that forward to 29th April. Stay at home. Protect the NHS. FACTS."

We went to talk to the company about getting the bathroom done yesterday and it was great - very normal. Showroom closed so appointment only, shutters down and we were the only people in. But once inside we weren't asked to wear masks, the bathroom guy wasn't wearing one but was behind a perspex screen. They are busier than ever and we couldn't get a slot to have the work done until July. I would imagine everyone is spending the money they would have spent on holidays, nights out and other fund stuff on getting jobs done on their houses.
