No social distancing at all, few masks in sight. Apparently at least 1000 outside ibrox , hundreds in George square.

Total superspreader events, even outside. The new viruses are much easier to catch.

Bloody great.

Why do followers of either Celtic or rangers always do this, bring the other one into every criticism

Eh? That's literally what all this pish is about. Tribalism and attacking the other side. Football is just the excuse.

Wakeupin2022 · 08/03/2021 11:47

snow the police have not been vaccinated.

NS seems quite gullible at times when it comes to the Old Firm.

This was always going to happen (even though its appalling). Whilst I am not excusing the behaviour at all, this has been a long time coming for Rajgers fans. It was naive at best not to predict this.

Just like it was naive at best to close the pubs just before an Old firm game and not expect fans to travel far and wide to see the game.

If you listen to NS it's only us dirty people that live in England who spread all the Rona around. It's never got to do with choices that she makes.

In a way I’m quite glad that it was done so publicly and has blown the lid on the farce that is lockdown by this stage. The government can close all the shops, schools and the “official” economy but it can’t prevent people from socialising informally and the myth that everyone is going along with the restrictions has been exposed.

Were going along with restrictions, so are most people I know. I'm sick of hearing how no one bothers anymore, that's not my experience.

So no NS in the briefing today that's really surprised me. Similar here I honestly don't know anyone following the rules anymore

florafoxtrot · 08/03/2021 12:16

Same @ssd.

Totally agree.

ssd · 08/03/2021 12:16

I can imagine most rangers fans will be utterly disgusted at what happened last night. And it gives out the stereotypical image we've been trying to get rid of in Glasgow for so long. It's just awful.

If anyone thinks Celtic wouldn't have been out in force if they had won "10" then they're just delusional, as as for better behaved - sorry, laughing too much to type

Possibly. Wonder how it would have been policed though?

I'm trying and failing to not be furious. Footballers have been allowed so much more freedom than nearly every body else and all along have broken rules with little in the way of sanctions. Not only that JS congratulated the national team at the end of a covid briefing. The first journos question was about breaches of Covid restrictions. Jason Leitch said he understood the need for footballers to hug! What about the need to hug loved ones, imprisoned as they near the end of their lives ?

The Scottish government and everybody else are frightened of these nasty bullies.

MoreMorelos · 08/03/2021 12:21

@Wakeupin2022

Plus NS could have said until she was blue in the face for them not to and she would have been ignored.

Interesting choice of words Grin

She couldn't be more green unless she had it stamped on her arse!

She stands for everything Rangers doesn't, hence we use the Union flag 🇬🇧

RJnomore1 · 08/03/2021 12:22

No I’ve been sticking to it religiously. I’m bored shirtless and losing the plot but I’ve done every single thing asked of me.

Yellow85 · 08/03/2021 12:23

I see the club has realised a statement now.

MoreMorelos · 08/03/2021 12:27

@ssd I don't know, but this was inevitable. Obviously from my username I'm a Ger, and totally understand all the feelings going through people. Like most Gers though I don't condone the violence and vandalism carried out. Hope they have plans in place for 21st March though.

RJnomore1 · 08/03/2021 12:28

Wow John swinney S just torn the club a new one for lack of leadership

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 08/03/2021 12:30

Imagine using the covid briefing for this Grin headmaster mode right enough.

Yep so it must have come as a shock to you and some other posters on here that a large proportion of people have had enough and don’t give a toss anymore. I saw some SNP acolytes/ lockdown adherents on Twitter enraged with NS last night and angry that the government couldn’t stop it. The government and police are not idiots and knew that they couldn’t stop it short of bringing in martial law which would have escalated it. Lockdown has been by consent in this country. They know that many people haven’t been complying but just need to convince enough people to do it - people like you and the others on this thread. Last night showed in dramatic style that many people don’t give a toss any more. And it’s shocked the people in bubbles where everyone is complying.

It's not about Rangers v Celtic. It's about the actual reality of what Rangers fans did last night.
ssd · 08/03/2021 12:32

That's rubbish @Snookie00

I agree. I think it should be cancelled.

What’s rubbish?
MoreMorelos · 08/03/2021 12:37

Cancelling it would cause troubles of its own, it wouldn't solve anything

mibbelucieachwell · 08/03/2021 12:38

JS not imposing any sanctions. Because he's feart.

And trying to absolve the government of any blame.

MoreMorelos · 08/03/2021 12:39

@snowcoveredcampsies so I dreamt the comments about how Celtic would never behave like that? No they prefer death threats and sending bullets through the post

Where are these comments?

I'll take your word for it.

You sound very angry. I'm sorry your club have let you down. It's shit. It's almost like a mini Manchester. What another horrible stain on an already chequered history.
