I have a dearth of friends/family that age in Lothian. Siblings are all 60ish and above and their DC are 40ish and younger.

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 20/03/2021 16:38

I did hear of some late 50s in Edinburgh getting letters...

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 20/03/2021 16:41

Good news then!

Rassy · 20/03/2021 17:15

@WaxOnFeckOff I also got a letter on Thursday for this Tuesday! I am 51 and in Forth Valley NHS.

Hyacinth88 · 20/03/2021 17:16

So that the correct people get them at the correct time.

Lucienandjean · 21/03/2021 00:08

Raindrops, I'm in the Lothians, I'm 56, and I've got an appointment for this Wednesday. The letter didn't arrive until yesterday though. Amazingly (after all the stories of people being sent miles away) the appointment is just a couple of miles from home.

pawsbaws · 21/03/2021 08:59

My parents, 2 siblings and their partners (early 50s) live in England and have all now had their first jab. Now I’m feeling genuinely a bit left out... I’m 46 and looks like another couple of months at least for me.

OllyBJolly · 21/03/2021 13:35

Got mine last night, letter arrived last Tuesday. Very efficient. (I'm in my 50s in Forth Valley)

Belindabelle · 21/03/2021 15:28

I am 51 letter arrived yesterday getting done on Friday.

DH 55 had his yesterday.

Forth Valley

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/03/2021 15:33

All us Forth Valley folks getting sorted. My sister age 60 in Lothian got done last week so hopefully they will be into the 50s groups soon.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 21/03/2021 15:58

Good news. There's so little to look forward too it's become a big deal😂.

snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 16:03

Any ideas when we might be into the thirties?

Belindabelle · 21/03/2021 16:06

I wasn’t that bothered but then kept hearing about people around my age getting theirs so was starting to get concerned especially with the recent news about possible supply problems.

I have looked out a short sleeved top and a Bardot off the shoulder number if I feel like it. It’s been a while since I needed a Friday going out outfit. If the good weather holds I may go the whole hog with maxi skirt and espadrille wedges.

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/03/2021 16:18

Mine is on my wedding anniversary and it genuinely feels like its a day out - only about 5 minute drive away but still... :o

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/03/2021 16:29

@snowcoveredcampsies

Any ideas when we might be into the thirties?
As at yesterday, we were about 57% done on first dose of 50-59 and about 28% of the 40s and 20% of the 30s - presumably CEV and carers.

It was a very big vacc day and they did 3.2% of the 60s and 2.6% of the 50s. The 60s are nearly done for the first dose (over 92%). If they can keep levels up then those should e finished in a few days and then another couple of weeks for the 50s. Then depending on levels you might be looking at another monthish for the 40s and so on, unless they decide on another strategy after the 50+ are done?

They could just do open house for anyone or target students or other key workers etc

snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 16:32

Yeah I would like to see them target key workers actually. That's a good idea. Supermarket workers in particular.

snowcoveredcampsies · 21/03/2021 16:32

Thank you for that.

WaxOnFeckOff · 21/03/2021 16:45

I know the decided to not do that strategy for the older age groups but there is really no reason not to in the younger groups. No ages under 50 (and I'd have said under 60 too maybe) have a bigger risk to ill health than the others so it might be better to have a free booking system with priority given to those in shops/hospitality and other face to face roles, teachers/police/social workers/charity workers etc. I'm included in the older age groups but I can work at home and don't really have any risk factors or activities so I'd have been happy to wait.

Chemenger · 22/03/2021 13:47

I called the help line today to find out about my appointment (a few work things coming up that would would need notice to move). I’m 59, in Midlothian and my appointment is on 1st of April. The helpline is very efficient, I didn’t have to wait at all. I would recommend calling if you’re worried and in the priority groups.

prettybird · 22/03/2021 14:23

I've officially got my blue envelope now Smile - but I already knew from the help line that my appointment is on Thursday - 12 days before I turn 60 Wink. A friend along the road (6 months younger than me Wink) has his appointment at the same time.

WaxOnFeckOff · 22/03/2021 14:25

Forth Valley have messaged out to say that everyone age 50 plus should have their letter and appointment now and if you haven't, to contact the helpline.

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 23/03/2021 11:37

Anyone seen that NHS Scotland appear to have updated their vaccine info saying over 55s will get the vaccine, not over 50s?

www.nhsinform.scot/covid-19-vaccine/invitations-and-appointments/who-will-be-offered-the-coronavirus-vaccine

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 23/03/2021 11:45

Actually maybe I am panicking unnecessarily because it does say further down the page that 50 to 55s will be next. Can you tell I really want the vaccine Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 23/03/2021 11:48

There should be a version control for what has changed but presumably we don't get access to that (or going by recent events, it may not exist).

I'm under 55 and have my appointment today.

BringMeTea · 26/03/2021 16:30

DH and I got the blue letters this week. Age 51, April 3, Grampian.
