Totally agree that there will be widespread sending homes but that's kind of the point.

People want everything to open up normally but just wanting it doesn't mean it's possible 🤷🏻‍♀️

Schools open and the virus will spread around the schools lx it's a simple fact.

Secondaries anyway.

Lockdownbear · 06/03/2021 14:47

@Dinnafashyersel

Lockdown. Even talk of an Unofficial Graduation Ceremony South of the Border since English Unis can host them but Scottish won't be able to as things stand.
As long as its cheaper than the official version. I remember my mate saying, your day is results day when you and mates go to the pub and celebrate. Graduation day is your parents day to sit all chuffed and clap.

But I agree its daft that these moments are being stolen from people esp when they can go ahead in England. They are once in a lifetime events that people just cannot get back.

School failed me, I got into Uni via the side door, ie college. My parents were so chuffed I'd got my degree, esp since they never got the chance to brag about my school results.

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/03/2021 14:53

Yeah I'd maybe wait until ours don't go ahead or theirs do before you start mumping on about moments being stolen.

It's months away. Who knows what will be happening then.

Dinnafashyersel · 06/03/2021 14:53

Listening to the football. Lots of tooth sucking re 2m distancing if Hampden is really going to be viable as a venue as NS suggested yesterday.

DeepfriedPizza · 06/03/2021 15:09

Seeing the scenes from Ibrox today has got me furious! Hundreds of fans have gathered to celebrate something (no idea what) and they’re all having a great time. Police are just there standing watching. Fucking idiots

OldRailer · 06/03/2021 15:12

I think we can guess with reasonable confidence that the SG will want to look toughest on Covid spread in the coming months. It doesn't fill my heart with hope of rational decision making.

They should get the water cannons out .
OldRailer · 06/03/2021 15:21

Water cannon? Is there a riot?

WouldBeGood · 06/03/2021 15:28

Ach, they’ll just be celebrating cos they might win the league today

WouldBeGood · 06/03/2021 15:28

I’m assuming water cannon was a joke

I like to check!

No, I'm not joking.
Groovee · 06/03/2021 17:10

I've had coffee with Mr G in the car. There was nowhere to sit so the car was the best option. X

OldRailer · 06/03/2021 17:11

Why water cannon? It's a fairly extreme measure to take.

StarryEyeSurprise · 06/03/2021 17:18

@OldRailer

Is it extreme? I didn't say rubber bullets, just the use of water to disperse the crowds.
OldRailer · 06/03/2021 17:19

It would be unusual.

Dinnafashyersel · 06/03/2021 17:26

Car park dating Groovee. Things us old marrieds have to do for excitement these days. Brew

Water Canon are banned in Scotland and Theresa even made London get rid of Boris' acquisitions.

Guardian also reporting you would need to isolate as a family with a positive lateral flow even if superseded by negative PCR. Got a Govt quote and everything.

Lockdownbear · 06/03/2021 17:47

A peaceful gathering doesn't warrant any sort of heavy handed dispersal. It would probably cause trouble to try and disperse the crowd.

The BLM protests were allowed to happen without dispersal if I remember rightly.

OldRailer · 06/03/2021 17:57

Makes mental note not to get on wrong side of StarryWink.

kurtrussellsbeard · 06/03/2021 18:21

I'm quite surprised at the Rangers fans tbh. I expected more from them. I seem to remember them being quite up in arms about the BLM protests. They were quite concerned about covid safety then.

Groovee · 06/03/2021 18:36

@Dinnafashyersel tomorrow is 24 years since our first date. So we'll celebrate with the kids and a takeaway coffee again 🥰🥳 I want to see him tomorrow as I'm working M/T so his dad and mum will visit him then.

The Rangers Fans really went to town about the Celtic fans congregating round Parkhead... then they do the same 🤦🏻‍♀️

anon444877 · 06/03/2021 18:37

24 years grovee what an achievement! Congratulations to you both.

WouldBeGood · 06/03/2021 18:38

@Groovee aaaww...romantic 😊💕

WaxOnFeckOff · 06/03/2021 19:22

That's lovely Groovee and glad that things are looking up.

Am I the only heartless cow that can't remember our first date? We met at work first and went out loads of times with other folk before becoming a couple, but then i think our first dates were still going out with same crowd so it's a bit blurred.

25th wedding anniversary this month though - and I remember that - especially as the date is engraved inside my wedding ring :o

Groovee · 06/03/2021 19:33

I only remember it as it was a blind date. We were totally set up. I was told he fancied me, he was told I fancied him. Half way through I brought it up. It dawned on us both and we laughed from then on. His cousin then got married on that date a year later x
