I don't think they'd really care. How many people wander B&Q. Its not like it's as crowded as a supermarket.

My friend says our local branch had to shut the doors regularly today to restrict the number in the store,

@Groovee

Mr G has an infection on his liver. They are putting a drain in tomorrow.
Oh my! he's not had it easy and neither have you. Hopefully they get him sorted properly this time. Poor Mr Groovee Sad
StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2021 22:51

There were 29 groups queued outside ahead of us (dd counted) but it went pretty fast

Poor Mr Groovee, he must be feeling really rotten! Hope they manage to get him sorted and feeling better soonThanks

 @Groovee Thanks

Nipoleonthenoncommital · 28/02/2021 06:46

You and Mr G have been through the mill @Groovee, I hope the drain sorts out the problem.

Six by Nico was amazing @WouldBeGood- it was the Hebridean and everything was outstanding. Best one yet

Peppafrig · 28/02/2021 07:41

If Glasgow goes into tier 4 I just won’t be following rules about family anymore. We have been in lockdown since October only so much I can take before I break .

shouldistop · 28/02/2021 07:45

@Peppafrig I'm of the same persuasion. Once my more vulnerable family members are vaccinated I won't be following the rules anymore. I'd really like to go to a toddler group or library or swimming etc but have no control over that.

PoloMintPatty · 28/02/2021 07:45

Get well soon Mr @Groovee

jabbathebutt · 28/02/2021 08:21

get well soon mr groovee

when do we find out tiers?

Groovee · 28/02/2021 08:38

Thanks everyone. Hate not being able to visit.

Dinnafashyersel · 28/02/2021 08:46

Thinking of you both Groovee. Horrible sitting at home waiting. Try and get some rest and anything you can do to switch off for a bit. Brew

Sounds like your DH will need lots of rest atm. DD1 ended up hooked on football and the Chase. Knew she was on the mend when she started to be bothered with the Evening Times crossword.

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 09:06

@Groovee it must be rubbish not being able to visit. Hope he feels better and that you’re doing ok.

@Nipoleonthenoncommital that’s great! These restaurant meals at home have been one good thing to come out of all this. We’re getting an Ottolenghi one delivered next weekend which will be interesting. Pricey though.

@jabbathebutt I think she said more info in three weeks..? Have you heard about your vaccine?

Like others, I say they can just get lost with their tier 4 or whatever. A new approach is needed.

jabbathebutt · 28/02/2021 09:07

heard nothing. Have left messages but nothing :(

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 09:16

That’s a bit rubbish @jabbathebutt

Definitely a new approach is needed. The only sensible thing I can come up with is to focus the vaccines on the teir 4 areas, areas which are densely populated inc the prisons, Care homes for young adults too.

Dinnafashyersel · 28/02/2021 09:39

Saw on the news last night. Not only are England proposing twice weekly tests for all secondary pupils they are also going to be sending out enough tests for the whole family.

Guess the scientists were indeed desperate to get the mass surveillance Operation Moonshot operation out there. Struggle to see how that level of testing can keep schools open if they continue with a policy of sending home whole year groups for a single positive.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes for the enthusiasm for test test test to wear off but I would predict not long.

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 09:41

I will not be testing if no symptoms

OP posts:
Dinnafashyersel · 28/02/2021 09:53

Me either. Even DD1 in Halls at Uni has never been for a test. She stayed there over Christmas so not an issue anyway. However lots of her contacts who were leaving the UK for Christmas also declined to be tested because they didn't want to risk a positive preventing them leaving. From their pov there was no upside reassurance because it was actually much more likely they would catch Covid in transit home rather than on the campus which had been locked down for months.
Testing is not mandatory no matter the "persuasion" tactics. If you are able to isolate when symptomatic and have no close contacts not also isolating then I struggle to see the value even then. In fact Whitty / Vallance actually intimated this back last March. (sometimes have to dig out old footage just to check I'm not going mad with all the gaslighting going on).

AgentCooper · 28/02/2021 09:55

God, if Glasgow goes into tier 4... I’m marking off the days until I can swim again. It feels so far away but tomorrow is the 1st of March and I keep telling myself ‘it’s ok, you can swim next month.’ It sounds like first world problems but it’s so helpful to my mental health. That’ll be 4 months without a swim at the end of April. I am really struggling with anxiety right now.

Flowers for @Groovee and Mr G

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 10:10

@AgentCooper it’s far from first world problems, it’s a fairly basic desire and requirement to keep fit, physically and mentally. As we’ve been told ad Infinitum until this last year.

That’s true @Dinnafashyersel and it’s perfectly possible for me to isolate if I’m unwell.

Sad but true I and my youngest were only in pools twice last year. Once in February and the in October.

The swim lessons we'd been using for the oldest never restarted because they were in a private pool. I was just ready to book LO when he hurt his hand then lockdown happened.
